Thank you ❤ this is actually not brief, this is extensive analysis and gives a pretty much view of how the prices would be. I’m moving to Sweden in 3 moths, and this helps. ❤
"SEK" is the official designation for the Swedish currency which is called "Krona" = "Crown". It's the same as for the US dollar for example, whose official designator is "USD".
Awesome video! Very detailed and informative - it covered pretty much everything I wanted to know about cost of living/shopping at Stockholm. Thanks! Also, extra thanks for touching upon availability of vegetarian/vegan options as I was looking for them as well. :)
Great video! Full of useful insights for someone who has never been to Sweden before. I'm moving there to study this Autumn and I feel more prepared now. Comparing the prices to what they are here in the UK, they are more or less similar, so luckily I won't experience much of a shock in that area. I don't live in Stockholm yet, however having surfed the internet in a search of a decent flat for me and my partner I can already agree that the struggle is real! But fingers crossed we'll find something soon. Can't wait to experience the city for myself soon!
Hi, would it be possible to advice some areas outside Stockholm 5-10 kms, where rent prices are more reasonable ? I heard Solna and Sundyberg are ok 👌🏻 I am soon moving to Stockholm, so need a bit of help 🙏🏻
Hi! Sorry that this is your impression of the video, hope it works out for you! 🙂 My goal was not to show how to cut costs and manage to live on a certain amount of money, but to talk in general about how much things/activities cost here. I am sure you can live on those salaries, but the truth in Stockholm is that it comes with some expectation adjustment, for example living with flatmates and not eating out often (especially now that it's not recommended). It's not impossible, I moved here with a salary not much higher than that, but it's important to have the right expectations, Stockholm is not cheap for living. In fact, it's in the top 5% most expensive cities in the world: livingcost.org/cost/sweden/stockholm#:~:text=The%20average%20cost%20of%20living,out%20of%2060%20in%20Sweden. You can check more price breakdown here: www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/stockholm
Very helpful video, thank you! What about cost of utilities like heating, electricity, water and sewage, garbage collection. Assuming for a house in the suburbs?
Thank you! I didn't include housing information, because I have no first hand knowledge about it and there's no reliable source I could find for that. Maybe you could check some forums, like this one, if you are interested? www.thelocal.se/discuss/index.php?showtopic=56670?showtopic=56670
Just moved to Stockholm for a new job so this quite helpful. What app do you use to keep track of your personal expenses? This might be handy in the coming months... ;)
Congratulation on the videos, I'm from Brazil, but I live here in Sweden and it is very good, I also have a channel talking about Sweden, I really like to see the videos of those who live here.
@@adroaldoribeiro4529tudo bem? Estou começando um canal falando sobre esse tema, já tenho alguns vídeos lá, faço vídeo toda sexta se quiser acompanhar é só me seguir ; )
Hi friend, For 23000 a month, and those prices are ridiculous. It is as bad as Los Angeles and San Francisco, Do people have a savings account or invest money in Stock Market?
I have a cousin in Stockholm who’s in his 40s and he’s never learned how to drive. If he has to go where there’s no public transportation, he hires a driver (not an Uber or taxi).

Good lord. A litre of milk in the Seattle area is between $2.95-3.95. --My son was paying $2700 to rent a room in Seattle 7 years ago (with kitchen privileges).
Hey! I'm planning on coming to Sweden for my data science masters. I'm an IT major from India, presently working in a startup. Can you give me any tips about a good college? :)
Hi! I haven't studied in Sweden, so the advice I can give is based on my research and hearsay. KTH is very highly ranked, Uppsala University and Chalmers University are good for tech degrees too :)
Do you need to pay for water, electricity, Internet? Or is it included in the price when you rent an apartment? Thanks for this video btw! Very instructive :)
@@AnastasiaKVL thank you so much for for the link. Its really helpful. Next, I am trying to figure out expenses related to babies. Like cost of formula and diapers which usually are expensive in every part of the world. Do you know which are most common online shops in Sweden? May be I can check prices there
Hi Ms. Anastasia. Thanks for this informative video. I’d like to ask if you know Hampus Casper Group & Elvira Agency? I have a job offer there but i’d like to make sure if they’re legit. Thank you very much
Hi! With the current conversion rates, $40k is approximately SEK330,000, which is an average starting salary for a junior Data Scientist in Stockholm. You can check out the video I made on Data Scientist salaries here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KnoHB973jQc.html Maybe it'll give you a bit more context :)
Did she cover how much of your inheritance from your parents the government takes in the United States we call it the death tax it should not happen it should be repealed
Insurance did she cover insurance. renting an apartment is the dumbest thing in the world live in your car until you can buy something stay at your parents place
depending on the size of the apartment the insurance is 100-300 SEK a month. Having a car is pretty rare, and living with parents is not always possible, especially if you move to Sweden from another country 😄
