I personally would take the advantage of the great transportation system in Switzerland but I know that some people may prefer cars, and this type of information can really help them so I thank you on behalf of them aha. could you maybe cover taxes in Switzerland? stuff like VAT, income tax, what is it like over there? thanks :)

Wish the base price would be the same as in the US, 35k. If that was the case, I would buy instantly. But in the 45k range, there are many more decent options :/

I was in a wrong neighbourhood in Southern France and I felt strongly something bad is coming. The next day 4th July, our brand new Peugeot lost its four wheels and rims. I got the suspect in the hoods and my strong guess was also the insiders where the lease and buy package executed. They were Pro's...5min job I think and not a single sound between 2-4 am maybe. It was well planned. The dealer exchange with Japanese made for few days. Learned lessons after. More careful in Genéve. Merci beaucoup. Bonne Journée 👏👍

It's not easy, but can be done. just to say i m swiss and the system tries to make you buy electric cars ... but you only have two free years exempt of taxes and from the third year yoj will pay co2 taxes just as much as any car

Ha, I knew it was be the Tesla. I see them everywhere. When you test drove the Tesla, did you ask about which garages have chargers for electric vehicles? You put $0 for fuel for the Tesla, but I'm guessing one will have to pay a surcharge in the garage to plug it in?
Hi Esteban and thanks for your comment! Yes that is in fact a good point! You have a couple of options for charging them. You could do it at home through a socket, many employers have Tesla charging in their underground garages, there are superchargers on highways and chargers in underground parkings. Electricity is one of the few things in Switzerland which are really cheap (my bimonthly bill is roughly 50CHF, even though I’ve chosen the most expensive option where I have a certificate that 100% of my electricity comes from renewables) so if you charge at home or at work, cost of charging can almost be neglected. Of course in underground parkings you’d have to pay for the parking (2.5CHF per hour probably). Thanks for bringing this important point to our attention and as always, thanks for watching!!! ☺️

go mini :) I used to use mobility a lot, its a good alternative around the city. Its cheap by the hour, but expensive by the kilometre , so gets more expensive for longer trips

Being born here or marrying a swiss does not suffice. The important criterion is that you live here for at least ten years before you can apply for citizenship (of which three in the five years before applying for citizenship). Years spent in the country between the age of eight and 18 count double (although the actual length of residence must amount to at least six years).
Where did you find the 355CHF/mo number to least the Tesla ? I was browsing online and the prices I saw were sometimes twice as that, sometimes more :(

Hi George and sorry for taking so long with the reply. In general, you can buy the car wherever you wish and it's true that Germany has one of, if not the best, car markets in Europe. There will be however a number of difficulties if you do that. First, when bringing a car, you will have to pay customs on its value. Second, if you are a resident of Switzerland, your car will have to have Swiss plates (there are high penalties if you do not re register the car) Third, to have plates, the car, it will have to go through Swiss technical tests which are VERY restrictive, older cars have difficulties passing at all. Without the approval, you cannot drive it here. All in all, if you are planning to buy, you might save yourself A LOT of headache by buying it in CH. The prices are not bad either
