#CostaRicaLife #LivinginParadise #Expat Costa Rica Life 🇨🇷 a Walk Thru Paradise 🌴 Jungle, Garden, Animals 🦜 Birds' If you're going to move to Costa Rica, live in Costa Rica, make a life in Costa Rica and some point you will probably being doing some landscaping, especially if you buy a property in Costa Rica or even a long term rental you want to spruce up on the outside. Everyone has a green thumb in Costa Rica as things tend to grow very easily here with not whole lot of care. Some people like a well-manicured lawn, complete with straight lines and nice borders, others prefer are more jung-a-ly look. DAngelo and myself prefer the latter. But that look demands a lot of attention or it can get out of hand very quickly. We were very new to the plant/tree world of Costa Rica when we arrived 15 years ago. When DAngelo got his house about 10 years ago, we decided we wanted to do a lot of planting around the house. We started collecting seeds, cuttings, bushes/trees from many different sources. around the country. We spent countless hours digging holes, planting, watering, trimming, mowing, arranging in the years that followed. The first year or two it seemed like nothing was really growing, then the 3rd year and explosion of jungle around the house. The animals and birds quickly followed. We continued to plant, which continue to this day but maintenance is key. This may not be everyone's idea of paradise but it is ours. So come take a little tour around the house, 'Costa Rica Life 🇨🇷 a Walk Thru Paradise 🌴 Jungle, Garden, Animals 🦜 Birds'.
Just a few plants and trees you will find around DAngelo's yard in La Fortuna, Costa Rica- heliconias, lobster claws, bananas, plantains, mangoes, papayas, avocados, cass, starfruit, lemons, tangerines, Croatians, various palm trees, including lip-stick palm trees and much much more. Animals- too many to say. reptiles, snakes, monkeys, deer, birds, hummingbirds.
Living abroad and living over seas is the very definition of international living. Buying property and landscaping it and making it your own little paradise and jungle is a great experience. Then add the animals, the birds, the hummingbirds and even the snakes and ants.

Guys, I enjoyed this video more than the rest of them all together. No offence. I love all your videos, even the ones that I disagreed with them, but I respect the work and dedication, and raw info. Nobody does it better than you guys. But this video was .....the cherry on the cake. That was Costa Rica is all about. That place is Heaven. I can only imagine the amount of work involved there, and just to keep everything in that shape. Regarding D"Angelo's Airbnb, I would show the house and include a link. I would love to stay there. Anyway, thanks for the video, and we love you guys. Pura Vida

OMG I love this. I'm such a gardening fool. I swipe plants from everywhere, too! LOLOL!!! I have a whole load of cuttings from the rental house hear near La Fortuna that are going with me to Turrialba. They're too pretty not to propagate. But see, now I want to come swipe things from D'Angelo's yard. Think he would let me? I'd love to try a baby fern tree. Imma email you.
@TravelCostaRicaNOW
@TravelCostaRicaNOW 3 года назад
He would be happy to let you grab cuttings from his garden. Just and FYI, ferns cant be propagate from cuttings and the babies hate to me moved. But he says he may have a baby fern you can try and relocate.
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles
@rhondak_ManorMiravalles 3 года назад
@@TravelCostaRicaNOW that would be awesome. Can you give him my email? You have it. I can also email my CR phone number for you to give him. I'm still in the La Fortuna area for a couple more days, but even after I move over toward Cartago we will be coming back here fairly regularly. I would love to try with a baby fern tree. I've had some luck in past years with tender seedlings and such, getting them to survive a transplant. I've also root pruned and transplanted large trees with success. Now... roses, no. I kill roses just by walking past them. But otherwise I'm always up for a challenge with horticulture. You should see the pile of cuttings and seedlings and stuff I dug up from the yard here at the rental house. Good thing we have a bus. Otherwise we'd have to rent a cargo van to get it all to the new property. LOL Thank you!

@rhondak_ManorMiravalles 3 года назад
@@TravelCostaRicaNOW thank you! We have left La Fortuna and rented a house in the mountains near Cartago, and unless I’m seeing things, I believe there are fern trees all over the place up here. We will be back in Fortuna from time to time, and I’m still interested in stuff from that beautiful garden. I’ll see what luck I have with these “fern trees” here and then I will give you a shout when headed back your way. 😊

Absolutely love this video! I had been wanting to see D’ Angelo’s mountain house that Michael Allen references so often. Having stayed at Tabacon, Arenal Manoa and Arenal Springs and admiring the impeccable grounds it was so very interesting to see and hear the actual names of so many common tropical flora of gorgeous Costa Rica. Your garden is amazing you guys! Such an informative video! I learned so much and I love tropical plants! Great work to you both as always! Love your videos! Dixie is adorable too! 😁🌸🌺🦜🐸🐵🦋🐊🌴🌿🐍🐜

Inga edulis, known as ice cream-bean, joaquiniquil, cuaniquil, guama or guaba, is a fruit native to South America. It is in the mimosoid tribe of the legume family Fabaceae.[1] It is widely grown, especially by Indigenous Amazonians, for shade, food, timber, medicine, and production of the alcoholic beverage cachiri. It is popular in Peru, Ecuador, Pernambuco-Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia.[2] The taxonomic name Inga is derived from its name with the Tupí people of South America, while the common name "ice-cream bean" alludes to the sweet flavor and smooth texture of the pulp.

Thank you! 2020 was a bad year for Airbnb, but 2021 has been great. Pre covid was a lot of 2 to 3 night rentals... Post covid is a lot of monthly rentals. The Airbnb market in costa rica is very saturated. You'll need to have a great place to make it.

How many acres and is there a house? Is it legal to fence in your own property? Not barbed wire but chainlink or similar? I am so hipped up about CR

Land is pricing high in that area??how much the square meter sell for ??
@TravelCostaRicaNOW
@TravelCostaRicaNOW 3 года назад
In his area YES. The land around him is all owned by locals that have been sitting on their land for many years. They don't NEED to sell and want a lot for it. $60 a square meter when it should be less than $20. He just got internet at his house for the first time in 10 years. the road is not paved or maintained in his area, and the neighborhood is not connected to city water. He was lucky to know the previous owners of his lot that just wanted out of Costa Rica and sold to him.
