So I bought a cosco underquilt that someone had already converted by using the sewing method. It looked super clean and Professional. I ended up doing exactly what you did, and it works even better... the grommet idea works so well bc it allows the hammock to compress at the foot end, keep the air out better. Its amazing how well it works. I went with shock cord all the way around and it stay put all night long. Thanks !!!
That idea is gunna be perfect fer the gear sling I use fer my chair. The CBS is uncomfortable, but that's a great solution ta make a custom size perfect fit underquilt, and I'll have leftovers so I can incorporate sum kinda top quilt jiggy.....thanks .
I love that you used grommets, I have been searching through the forums and such looking and I had the idea to use grommets for a clew style but I think this will be much easier, did it work well for your trip? is there anything you would do differently?
excellent video... became very discouraged with all the diy sewing versions... gonna use your method and make my own... thank you for a great video. do you have any footage of this with your hammock hanging in it?
I got discouraged when I watched a video somebody making the Gemini version with all the snaps call the cordage. This video made life so much easier. How did you make out using it.?
Just last week I was standing in harbor freight holding the pack of tarp clips in one hand, and the grommeting kit in the other. Put them both down because clips were going to cost and weigh more than I wanted, and I was unsure of using grommets on the quilt. I will be returning to HF for the grommets, thank you for giving me the confidence. Like previous commenters, I'd love to hear if you had any further thoughts on the design after having tried it out.
I checked all the Costco's here in Phoenix and can't find down quilts like what everyone is showing, Costco people says that the quilts have polyester fillings not down, do you have a barcode number that I can use to hopefully buy one
I folded it over for more protection. Seems fine thus far. What I liked is using a small carabiner and clipping it up in 3 different spots to really wrap around me.
