It is that time of year again, when the house gets extra cosy and the Christmas lights go up. In this week's video, I am decorating the house for Christmas, but in a cosy and romantic theme. Also, this year, I have an extra spot in the garden to decorate! The first part of this video will be a cost decorate with me, and you can watch my Christmas cottage house tour at the end. I remember Pepsi, he was so sweet, cats tend to gravitate to people who have good hearts. Here in the US, we call them stockings instead of socks. You could still put up Pepsi's stocking in memory of him.

We lost Darling Jack, our Chihuahua-Terrier after 14 years, two years ago. And my beloved Queenie (black and white cat) many years before that. Both reside in our home still, and I still cry when I think of them. Queenie would butt my head if she heard me crying, and made me feel better. Oh, and there is a bread dough heart on our tree for Bronco, our dog, who we had for sixteen years , and he’s been gone for almost 20 years now. Animals never leave, I think! Any way, love your Christmas decorating and your sweet cheekiness!

Lovely🎄inspired🌟~ Here is idea~each year save favorite wrapping paper and wrap box with lid to store your precious ornaments ( wrap each one in pretty tissue) and 🏷 with old Christmas cards A-Z labels. Take memory pic with phone! Then when ornaments on tree, empty pretty box goes under tree 🎁 as faux gift🎄❤️🥰

When I was a kid we made paper wreaths out of a wire hanger and tissue paper. We shaped the wire hanger into a circular wreath shape. The tissue paper was cut into about 3/4” by 6-8” strips. We took a strip and folded it in half over the wire and twisted it, then added another. You just kept adding and pushing them together around the circle until it was a full as possible and fluffed the tissue up. Very easy to do with kids and no glue!

You can buy a plastic box you put an extension lead socket in and your light plug that's weather proof I use them outside for my lights

Men don't 'plump'! If he makes his bed, be happy with that. Loved watching you clean and decorate - well it's always more enjoyable when someone else is doing the work. Everything is lovely. You must get out a tea set and have a few friends over for a festive afternoon tea.

The 'If Tomorrow starts without me' poem appeared randomly on my RU-vid video feed a couple of days before my Uncle passed away from Cancer, a few weeks ago. It was read so beautifully in the video, that I had tears rolling down my face as I listened to it. When my Uncle finally passed a few days later I printed off a copy of the poem and attached it inside the Sympathy card I sent to my Aunt. She thought it was so lovely that it was read out at my Uncles Funeral by his eldest Grand Daughter. You made a wonderful job of your Christmas decorations. I shall be doing ours this coming weekend. I'm both looking forward to doing them and dreading doing them.

When I watch your video it brings back wonderful memories with my kids who of course they are all grown up and married. Yes I have 7 grandchildren ranging in the age from 22 - 10. They are back in the US so I will not get to see them until I am home for a visit. I love how you make us all feel at home and it gladdens my heart. You are truly an inspiration to this new generation. You mom and family mist be so proud of you in all that you have accomplished, I know I am you must get this from you mom God bless her. I know you miss Pepsi but she left you with lots of memories and these will help you along the way. I just love all your decorations both on the trees and in your house makes it every elegant yet festive. Todays goal is I am hunting for a Christmas tree for my apartment hopefully I will find one. i was wondering through Homesense the other day and saw so many pink/rose coloed Christmas decor and thought, "It's a Dainty Christmas store!". #RomanticCore.... see, it's now a trend. :) It's the little things, like Pepsi's stocking, that pull at our heart strings. When I lost my dear Hank, the Vet had made a little paw print from him and framed it with a little tuft of his fur attached to the back. Cried for days but was so touched. Thanks for sharing the poem.

I cut strips of green felt about 6to 8 inches wide and weave them inside the branches near the pole to make my tree look fuller! It really works! I enjoy your RU-vid channel!

After I lost Luna I felt the same and right now my Sirius is not long for this world so I am looking at going through that again. But after a year and a half I got THREE 7 month old kittens. My house came alive. My heart healed and opened up. They saved me. Of course the whole time you were decorating I was visualizing how my kitty cats would destroy ALL of it. 😄 Got me thinking on how I can work around Tornados 1,2&3 and still have an elegantly decorated house...🐯🐯🐯🎄🎁 Hanging from the ceiling perhaps???

I got a ladder too for Christmas! I was getting on my tiptoes using a spatula to reach things. I also got a DeWalt cordless sander and paint brushes and paint for all my furniture . bought myself a china cup to for all the hard work I'll be doing .☕♥️🛠️🖌️🖼️🎨👩‍🎨

It's going to be three years since my tomcat went "upstairs" in January and his ashes are still in the container they used for him and the cards and sweet messages they gave me too. Yes, you made me well up, but it's alright. I lost both my parents in December, 10 years apart, so I'm always on the verge of a little weep every Christmas season. I know the tears of leaving a stocking out. I was getting ours out and I had to leave our Squishy's stocking in the container with all the others of passed kitties. We lost him end of May. Beautiful decorating. Hope your brother remembers to plump the couch.

I couldn’t read the prayer because of I pets that I loved that much and have lost so it just hit me at this time of the year. But I loved that you shared it. Loved how you decorated. Romantic Decor works for me. The green house lit up really did me in. I have been wanting one for so long. We just hired a landscaper to redo our front and back yard so I need to get with him about a great place to put one.

Catherine, your house looks lovely as always. Very warm and cozy. Put up Pepsi’s sock. Our little Reggie dog passed in September and his stocking is right up with the rest of ours, as it should be. After almost 21 years It was so hard losing him and miss him so much, but it makes me happy to know that even though he’s gone he will always be a part of our family 🙂❤️❤️

Oh - I didn’t know about Pepsi. So sorry. I agree-just want Pepsi-that’s how I felt when I lost my Shadow-cat. It was just me and Bella Boo afterwards but then along came Paquita. And then Sweetpea Smudgie. When a cat needs a home-he/she will find you. Love your decorations! Take care.

I have the ashes of both my fur babies ansd teir picture next to them one is in my bedroom in the US and my brother asked if I could put the other ashes in his room after all Jake was my baby during the day and my brothers at night. I hope and pray that the time they spent with us showering them with love an attention helped the a lot. I still miss them but remember all the memories they have left for me. Its never any easy way to say bye to them. They left footprints on our hearts as they crossed over the Rainbow Bridge and will wait for us there. Hope this help you.

Oh Catherine, put up Pepsi’s sock, she is still in you heart and with you in Spirit. A remembrance of her is OK. Having a cry is ok. It’s been 14 years since I lost Squeeker, and I finally got a new companion, but Sugar and Squeeker have their places in my home. This is Gloria’s first Christmas, she will be 8 months old just before Christmas, and I’m debating putting up a table top tree, rather than worrying about her pulling a tree over on herself. I think it would be lovely to leave the other stocking up as a remembrance 🤔 Maybe you could hang a cross on the front of it or something you like that as soon as you see it, you’ll know she’s still with you🥰 Your home is even more beautiful with all the Christmas decorations up😀🥰

I'm exactly the same. Every year I say I'll organise the Christmas decorations properly when I put them away. They end shoved back up. This year I've already purchased some really useful clear boxes and have already packed the decorations I won't be using back away and have thrown all the cardboard boxes so I won't get tempted to throw them back in there 😀

Catherine the poem made me cry. I foster cats for a charity and am the foster co-ordinator. 3 days ago I had to have one of my fosters called David put to sleep. he was my 48th foster in 3 and a half years and only the 4th cat i have had to pts. Loved your video. I shall be decorating my tree with my grandkids next weekend. I bought hot choc melts for them and a small gingerbread house kit for each of them to do. I have already bought and wrapped all the xmas gifts and have even sorted the xmas eve box for the grandkids ( party at mine on xmas eve) xxxxx
