What I love is that it doesn’t look cluttered. I know minimalists would disagree, but it looks homely. I am struggling with clutter myself after having inherited many old, beautiful things. I want to display them all, but it just starts looking like a vintage store. You did a great job of paring down when you moved!
Your cottage reminds me of my caravan, compact and organised, functional and charming..........and honest. Compared to home decor mags, yours actually LOOKS like a true cottage, it's innocent simplicity is what makes it so lovely to be surrounded by, and you put it all together the way you did out of necessity, not design and that's honesty. Can't wait to see more xx
Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA. I spent a semester abroad in Aberystwyth and traveled throughout England and Wales. So beautiful. Thank you for sharing you vintage cottage kitchen. I have converted my 10ft x 25ft utility room into a free-standing kitchen which I have decorated with 2 open china hutches, farm table, and colonial table and chairs. Everything in that room is vintage except for the stove, fridge, and dishwasher. I really like all the glassware that you have for you food storage. By the way, I'm vegan as well. Great video.
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 Oh my. Small world. I made it to Shrewsbury and to Mount Snowdon and Cardiff and Caernarfon. I love Wales. Dydd da. I hope that's right. 😊
@@rozchristopherson648 Da iawn Roz! I came to Pennsylvania in 1990 and it was awesome! I assumed there had been a fairly large Welsh population in the state at some point as I remember there being lots of Welsh place names. Bryn Mawr (big hill) is the one that springs to mind x
A tip for others, when saving the glass jars from the store for dry goods storage. If they have some logo or whatever on the lid just take it off and spray with some spray paint (I like gloss black) and your jar looks old and they look like a set.
I just found your video while searching for some old cottage kitchen inspiration and fell in love! 🤎 My dream is to live in a small cottage but at the moment I rent a modern little apartment. However with a very very similar style as yours I think I’ve achieve a quite cosy and homely kitchen. Your style is not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly! Hearing your suggestions I felt they were the same I always share with other people 😊 and I was also very happy to know Henrietta lives in a vegan home! 🐓 thank you for sharing your lovely home!
I love all these ideas, especially about having lovely but useful things on show. I just discovered your channel via a comment, and I love this peek into cottage life as I'm in far away Australia. I can't wait to see what's to come and your lovely daughters adventures at uni. Sending hugs for the time she is away - its hard being a mum sometimes.
You have a beautiful cottage, I love it! I’m originally from Yorkshire, we moved to Ohio 23 yrs ago. We don’t have a big house so I’m trying to get better at buying functional but beautiful things too, thanks for the inspiration ❤️ Love to see the rest of your cottage.
Wow, that was a big move! So pleased you found it inspiring. At some point we will show photo's of how the cottage looked when we first moved in. We plan to do tours of the other rooms x
What a sweet cottage kitchen you have! Yes indeed, you are right--eBay is a great place to hunt for lovely, useful items.🙂 From your newest subscriber, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, thank you so much for your thoughtful tour. Your kindness & encouraging authenticity is much appreciated! 🙏🌿💐🌿😊💚😘🌿💐🌿🙏
Thank so much Sarah. So pleased you enjoyed it. I spent some time in your hometown in 1990 when I was in the States touring with a theatre company. We stayed in Minnesota University and had a wonderful time x
UNA COCINA MUY CÁLIDA Y MUY BONITA!!! ESE MURO DE PIEDRA JUNTO A LA ESTUFA ES PRECIOSO, Y ESE SONIDO DE LOS AUTOS AL PASAR CERCA DE TU CASA ES MUY AGRADABLE!!! MUCHAS GRACIAS POR PERMITIRNOS CONOCER UNA PARTE DE TU ESPACIO!!! SALUDOS Y BENDICIONES DESDE MÉXICO!!!
Thank you so much. We were living in a large farmhouse before so had to get rid of alot of stuff but actually the cottage is very practical for us now we have learnt to live without lots of unecessary items x
@@cerridwencottagediary9194 that’s great if that is acceptable to you…what one deems unnecessary to some, is a necessity to the wellbeing and fulfillment of another 💖…in the end we all leave with nothing ☺️
Hi there Annie .New subscriber here from near Carmarthen ,S/W Wales .LOVE your cottage and what you have done with it .We are a Pagan ,Vegan couple too .Have a Blessed Samhain 🧡🎃
Thank you Susan. Yes we do have a road infront of the cottage but luckily we have a very big garden behind which leads to woodland and then mountains so the road was a compromise we were prepared to make x
Its very cute, but I think if you're going to spend time talking about what led up to moving there, I think it would be better to have the camera stationary, with you sitting in front of it, describing these things, rather than the camera not focused on any particular thing, moving slightly back and forth. Its a little distracting... Cute house, good luck with your channel!
When was your cottage built? It's so beautiful! I have the same style as you because I have a small house also...but I also have my sweet hens right outside my kitchen door🤗
Thank you. All we now is that it was built some time in the 1700's. I love chickens! We used to have ex battery hens as pets so they didn't go to slaughter and were allowed a happy, free range life. They all had such big personalities but one we named Minty was the sweetest
