Yes, this is a Russian recipe :) Cottage cheese (as you named it) we call 'Tvorog' (Творог). The pancakes are usually called 'Syrniki' (Сырники, plural), which is derivatived from 'Syr' (Сыр, Cheese). We have the name 'Tvorojniki' from 'Tvorog', which is technically more corret, but this name is not widely used. Why? Peter the Great provided Russia with cheese (Syr) we know now, but historically cottage cheese existed in Russia for a long time before and was also called by the name Syr (cheese). To avoid misunderstandings, the name Tvorog was created. The pancakes though were already called Syrniki (from Syr/cheese) for a long time. That's why this name is more popular among Russian people :)

Tip to anyone using store bought cottage cheese: the cottage cheese is wattery so you'll have to use about 50% more flour and a bit more sugar for flavour Or you could strain it? Idk, I just used more flour

You can use regular ricotta cheese, which is what she actually made, not cottage cheese. Heating milk and lemon juice makes ricotta while cottage cheese involves culturing with a strain of bacteria and the addition of rennet.

Thank you. Tried tgese and they are delicious... Sort of a cheeze blitnz type flavor. My family lives them. I cheated: i used store bought large curd cottage cheese. Next time i will try making tge cheese myself. It woukd be healthier than what we buy from store.

There is a very similar dish in Polish cuisine: leniwe pierogi. The difference is that the inside is added to the breadcrumbs, the dough is made of rolls and is cut diagonally and then boiled. Leniwe pierogi are served in butter with sugar and breadcrumbs.

I make rolls with cottage cheese, eggs, oatflour and baking powder and they are amazing! you can also just put some oil or water on your hands instead of using so much flour ☺️

woah~ this is one of our traditional recipes in my hometown in Turkey! We call this "keş". actually there are several kinds of keş and this one is my fav^^ (and~ we don't add sugar :D)
