Lovely garden. I read recently that putting coffee grounds around your plants can deter slugs organically (local coffee shops can save their grounds for you too). I also tried milk and baking soda in water (found on internet) to treat powdery mildew on a new rose and it worked.
Your garden has such a lovely fairytale feel to it. I loved the way you whispered about the hosta's incase any slugs overheard and made a beeline for them!😆
Japanese Beetles have been goin crazy over here - planted 3 weeping cherry blossom trees a month ago and they've become outposts for the beetles :( Luckily the beetle bag solution works and the birds have been getting fat. Beautiful garden!
Same here in north GA. We planted apple and peach trees this Spring and the Japanese beetles nearly killed them. I have collected over FORTY full bags of beetles so far! F.O.R.T.Y!!! 🪲🤮
Once again - your garden is looking stunning. I would never put slugs in my compost heap. Imagine them laying eggs and you putting them all over your garden. I know exactly what you mean about the Fairy Roses. Mine are the same. 🙄 Hugs from Germany
That garden will keep you busy. My parents had one that I have taken over. 40 years really made a difference! But it's an awesome thing not many people have. Enjoy!
Beautiful! Since I became a Reiki practitioner my garden has exploded with bounties beauty. Just love the magic of it all. Thank you for sharing. Love the dress too, always love your dresses!
Hi Anna, - these are my all-time favorite videos. Your garden is a labor of love- a beautifully painted canvas. I just love seeing your creativity shine. Beautiful job both you and Burt have done.
Beautiful garden tour! Cottage gardens are my favourite. What was that at 35:25? A butterfly? An orb? Or shall I just imagine a lovely little garden fairy joining you on the tour!
Hi Anna. I live in Schenectady, NY…planting zone 5. Is playing the blues salvia an annual or perennial for me? Thank you for your help and for sharing your beautiful garden and knowledge with us!!❤
I wouldn't add garden slugs to your compost pile. There ARE some slugs that are great in the compost pile for breaking things down because they eat the dead stuff and NOT the live stuff... but they likely aren't the same kinds if slugs that are attacking your garden. And the right ones should find their way to your compost on their own.
