I don't know if this counts as a fairytale, but I love the Chronicles of Narnia!!!

i have no idea what it's called in english, i don't even know if it exists outside Europe but i read it in a book of fairytales. it was about a prince whose dad promised him youth without old age and life without end before his birth. when the prince grows up, he remembers his dad's promise and goes on a journey with a magical flying and talking horse to find youth without old age and life without end. he has to fight several monsters but always wins and he finally gets to his goal : a place of eternal happiness where he meets 3 fairy sisters. they tell him that he can stay but on one condition : he can NOT go to the valley of tears, a place nearby. he then marries one of the fairies and live a happy life. one day, he's hunting a rabbit. the rabbit leads him to the valley of tears, which he leaves as soon as he realizes he's in but it's too late : once he gets back to his castle (where he lives with the fairies), he's hit by nostalgia. he wants to see his family and his kingdom ! the fairies try to hold him back but they cannot do anything to stop him. the prince gets on his flying horse and goes back to his kingdom. once he's there, he asks people about his parents but no one seems to remember them. they don't remember him as well ! he goes to the castle he used to live in with his family and only finds a ruin. so, he realizes he's been gone for thousands of years and once he gets off of his horse and puts his foot on the ground, all these years catch up with him and he turns into dust *okay, that was longer than i expected, sorry for that haha !* *also, sorry, my english isn't perfect, i hope there are no mistakes*
