Holly, be sure to look at the back page of the booklet sent to you. It has the fabric colors with an alphabet letter: A,B,C,D,E,F,G. The first fabric will always be "A", for every clue. I didn't see that you had the booklet out. I had to look at my colorway, on my booklet, a million times. I love your headpiece, so beautiful. River is precious. PLEASE be careful with covid out there. I'm an ICU RN and tired of seeing the long-term effects it has on people. Be well, be safe, love you.
You look awesome today! Glad you’re doing this quilt. Not something I’d be interested in, but always interested in watching your videos. Stay healthy! I’ve already had Covid 3 times. Not fun! Miss River is growing up entirely too fast! Slow down sweet girl! 💕💕
Look at your girl, she’s just too cute. You can tell they talk to her all the time. Miss River you are a princess! Nicely done, I watched last night wrote something then took it off. 🤣 Re thought about it. Don’t forget to post with flat Nancy! On cotton cuts. Thanks Holly ❤️❤️🤗🤗🥰🥰🥰
My advice to you is to make sure you label all your finished clues….it will make it easier when you get to the last one and have to assemble them all together! 😊
Good Morning Holly! You look fabulous!! Your blocks look great. My pmq from last year is all ready to sew up at my retreat next month. Yes, I run way behind lol.. These mystery kits really helped me get my sew-jo back. Have a great day! That moment of zen is too precious! She's really growing so fast. ❤❤❤
I wanted to get a kit since they started PMQ, so when I saw the opportunity to "try a sample" I sent for it. Although the sample was short one piece of Tula, I was able to quickly sew it up and make the missing piece. Really Fun! I wanted the Steampunk fabric but it was sold out and I just gave up... You look good this morning and sweet River is a doll 😊❤
Goodmorning Holly! I'm #team wrangler. I'm enjoying mine as well. Oh gosh! That River girl is so darling! My 6th great grandson is on the way...a boy! I'm excited! I will have 3 girls and 3 boys! So evicted!😊
Holly, did you see the colorway chart on the back of the brochure it really helps to understand and sort your pieces. You did an awesome job of piecing. I have done several PMQs. They are a lot of fun. River gets cuter every time we see her.
Hello Holly, you are looking lovely as always. Love your headband. Thank you for sharing Cotton Cuts PMQ with us. If I'm able to, I'm going to join in the fun. The moment of zen is just to adorable, she is getting so big. Thank you, until next time!!
Good morning Holly!!! ☕️🌻. I love the headpiece 🌻. I am participating in the PMQ Tree of Life, it’s my first PMQ, I do enjoy that it is precut for me too!! I need to catch up on a couple of clues, I’ve had other projects I have made a priority and that is almost done 😅. I think the blocks look great and look forward to seeing what your Calamity quilt becomes, and my Tree of Life!! LOL. That sweet River!!!!! 🥰 Love that zen!
# Redwood. # Purple Mist # Serenity Yes 3 Tree of Life My 1st one was # Twister a few years back. I was late joining and didn’t get what I really wanted.
Because I bought the full box, I also get my clues monthly off the website. I use the Dove Grey a lot for piecing. It blends in well. This will be my 6 or 7th PMQ. They are fun. Enjoy.
Good morning and happy Wednesday! Today I'll be working more on my shirt, provided I can find enough coordinating fabric to remake the collar that I FUBARed. (I know *exactly* where I went wrong, but have gone too far beyond that point to be able to go back & fix it. See, @jolene2334 I did say I wasn't the best person to ask for garment making advice, LOL!) "We, ha ha, me & the mouse in my pocket" well that whiplashed me back to childhood. When we were kids if we said "we" mom would often respond with, "Who's 'we'? You got a mouse in your pocket?" and I always thought it was something she'd made up. Guess it's an actual saying! Love the color palette on this project, or at least this clue #1. I'm presuming there are at least two more colors in the box still, since this one has skipped B & E. And they're grunge! I don't know why that comes as a delightful surprise, but it did. The rusty red livens up the cooler tones of the blue & green (I know yellow is a warm color, too, however there is enough green in the yellow provided that it doesn't "pop" the way the red does) and it's just a lovely combo all around. The finished blocks are definitely intriguing and it'll be fun to see how everything all comes together.
Lovely blocks! How I wish I could open the windows! We're still under extreme heat advisories every day. My girls are currently snacking on frozen blueberries to cool off. We hope all is well. Take care!
I have to use alphabeties to tell me what color is what, it helps me so much. Take your time and enjoy. It will turn out beautifully. So much fun. Have a beautiful day, sending prayers and hugs!
ok i am getting my clue one out today. i am very excited now to start! i love the moment of zen. my youngest grandchild starts school today. time goes by so fast at times!
Your blocks look great; love the bright colors. I’m doing the small PMQ in purple…lots of purple! Somewhere, someone posted that they did Clue 1 in 28 minutes, but it took me most of the afternoon. I’m happy with the result, but happy that they won’t email the next clue until the end of the month…thinking when the colorway is all purple, my eyes and brain need the break. But I do thank you for introducing me to Cotton Cuts! ❤ today’s moment of zen.
I did 2 seasons of the mystery block quilts from cotton cuts. I do like the concept but the fabrics lines to choose from were not my style. The ones that I liked the most sold out in hours and it was very limited. Haven't renewed since. TFS
Hi Holly, I’ve tried the PQM twice. So far I’ve not finished either of them. I like the second one better, so when I go on retreat in November, I’ll work on it again. The colors in your quilt are different. I can’t imagine how the finished quilt will look. I may try a small one again. Stay well. The hospital I go to for radiation has implemented masks again, mandatory in any of the cancer treatment areas. I wish Covid would just go away! River is such a doll. It’s nice to have a baby around. They give such joy. I keep hoping one of my Grandchildren gets married and starts a family before I croak. I need to stay alive another 10 years to finish raising Fiona. So maybe it will happen. Fiona is 170 pounds and quite a handful, but she is getting better at listening. I can handle her but need to be very firm. Give Dandelion a kiss from Fiona. It will be sloppy, but loving. Take care my friend. I hope to see you one day when I finish this round of cancer treatment. XOXO Carol from down the road 12:38
Love the moment of zen! Just a few tips. I know you have a bunch of tips down here in the comments already. I kept my color sheet in one of those plastic clue bags, and used the big round sticker they close the bags with to tape it onto the front right side of my sewing machine. I'd also go through the clue and make a list of all the HST units and do those first. It'd be like, "2 A>D, 2 C>D, 4 B>A" etc with the > showing which way I needed to press them. I did a large though, and it was a LOT of HST units. Finally, maybe use those little post it tabs they sent you to label your blocks. It will help at the end! I didn't sign up for this one because I was indecisive and both of the colorways I wanted sold out without restock. Looking forward to the spring PMQ though, and I will enjoy following along with you for this one. Your blocks look great!
Yes, home sick with Covid, since Tuesday last week!!! Finally thought I was doing better this Monday, but I woke up this morning with a fever! So, I guess it’s not done with me yet! Love the blocks! You did a great job!
Holly, love. Grab the "COLORED COVER". You have to hold on to this thru the entire project ( months 1-10.) On the back side you will find a chart, of sorts, showing the colors you're working with, labeled with the correct alphabet identifier. The gray tones in the instructions don't match your fabric colors. They are very fun to do.
Holly did you make your design board? That is exactly what I need. Your blocks look amazing. Great job. Thanks for sharing. I am new at quilting and not all my points line up I just accept it and move on.
I just started the PMQ for the first time. I found that labeling each print helps and keeping the paper with the quilt name handy to keep track of the prints. The pieces went together easily. Just remember to label the finished block with the label name that is given in the instructions. I think we’ll need them to put this mystery together. I can’t tell what the block will look like, but that’s the mystery! Have a great time sewing your mystery blocks.
in some states the covid is the highest in 2 years. yes, this isn't impacting folks due to the shots people have had but permenant lung damage is happening, deaths are ocurring. be safe folks, stay apart, wash your hands. I will not be going into large crowds. the majority of people on you tube that i follow that have caught covid were in large church, quilt crowds and others like that. I don't want perm lung damage. two of the ladies i follow in you tube now have perm damage as they felt covid was done and it wasn't a risk. sad to see them having cough and breathing issues on their channels now. this is their future. so sad. be safe everyone!!
