I really do miss 2D era of Pokémon. Don’t get me wrong the 3-D era is great too, but a lot of us grew up with 2D Pokémon. Also a lot of things look great in 2D
Exactly - there's nothing wrong with the games being in 3D, it's just a shame that we probably won't ever get a game in the style that many grew up with and even still love to this day..
I feel like a good 2d game right now would help settle things down in both ends of the community. I feel like a large portion of the community feels alienated right now.
2D Pokemon was something else man. It brought life and character to each Pokemon, which is something that the 3D games still need to learn in their own ways.
They could LITTERLY make a GBC game. They shut down Pokemon Prism, a rom hack that was gaining popularity just because it was so successful and very fun. If you are gonna crap on peoples fun and dreams, at least make a similar game and bring it out.
It’d be interesting if they had a fanmade policy akin to Sonic or even did a more involved version of the Mario Maker concept. But their corporate culture doesn’t seem to allow for that. Very sure it was taken down because they marketed it almost exactly like an official game. They needed a massive disclaimer before the trailer and made it clear it was fanmade. Same happened to Uranium. Anyways? Other people finished it, though I personally believe the original dev did work on it covertly.
Make an octopath traveler style 2DHD game. Its unreal engine 5 so it should be easier to make, and the mechanics for capturing and battling are used by the hunters from the games
You could actually have a gigantic 2D game with every single pokemon with an in game national dex with how much the Switch carts can hold. You could easily make custom moving sprites and everything and it would be epic. A game does not need to be 3D to be a hit even in 2024. Just my opinion.
Yeah, though I live in a place where none of the Centers ship to me, though because it doesn't apply to me doesn't mean they don't exist at all, good point!
Remakes with improved ui and multiple gimmicks. Take some inspiration from atlus smt games and final fantasy jrpgs. Create bigger maps, cross regional and better animated sprites and features. A pokemon game like that would be on the level of GTA. Not really but please make it already 😂.
