@@nadavev5684 To your first point this sort of strike would not be launched by the IDF, but by whoever is in charged politically, which would likely be your most right leaning groups as electing extremes tends to happen in the lead up to the war. The IDF's involvement would be to say "yes PM " push the button and the missiles get launched. Now to your point a mutually assured destruction threat is not meant to be used. It is not even meant to directly be threatened, just implied. Think of the cold war the US never threatened the Soviets with destruction, and the Soviets never threatened the US with destruction. MAD was either discussed internally or by academics and analyst outside of the government.
