SCP 682 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Hard to Destroy Reptile.
SCP 001 is a Euclid/Keter Class anomaly also known as Gate Guardian.
SCP-682 is a large, vaguely reptile-like creature of unknown origin. It appears to be extremely intelligent, and was observed to engage in complex communication with SCP 079 during their limited time of exposure. SCP682 appears to have a hatred of all life, which has been expressed in several interviews during containment.
SCP-001 is a humanoid entity, approximately seven hundred (700) cubits in height, located in an undisclosed location near the intersection of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. SCP001 has a weapon, possibly a sword or knife (SCP-001-2). The weapon appears to emit flames at a temperature rivaling that of the sun.

I actually have a personal theory on how 682 is able to survive. Often times the foundation cuts away a sample to test if something will work. If other cross tests hold true each part is still alive and in a way connected to it meaning it already knows instinctively what's about to happen and is able to prepare to spring its counter measures.

I had the same theory because always its so close to die but at the same time so far away with some of the strongest scp in a test and all the time is "we use a chunk of scp 682 and..."

I love how the line where scp-682 says that he was cursed for giving the fruit. So this is obviously how the snake convinced Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. Also meaning that the lizard is litterly the devil. Which in turn ties into when God looked at scp-682 and said "he's not one of mine" referring to that god banished the devil

After all Lucifer is the prince of this world and therefor rules over all earthly possessions. Maybe at the end of the scp universe 343 will actually banish him

One thing the foundation hasn’t seemed to think about is how impacted they’d be if 682 was actually killed. After the party, they would have to deal with more issues with testing anomalies and probably running few on D’s. I feel bad for 682 honestly.

To be fair the gate guardian never claimed to be Uriel. Nor did it ever claim that it was guarding the garden of Eden. That's just speculation on the part of the Foundation.

The DR Clef termination attempt would be fun to see, the closest reference to it I’ve come across was a “Dr Bright not allowed” involving replacing Clef’s buckshot with confetti and Clef being hospitalized after giving 682 a face full of confetti, not that I don’t love that too. I had a theory just now. What if When day breaks and Uriel, both a 001, are related somehow. Uriel is as hot as the sun and made of flame, and maybe someone had entered Eden, and this outraged Uriel so much, that he let loose When Day Breaks. Idk it’s just a theory

682 seems like adaptation incarnate. I wonder if reality itself (and past experiences) has caused his attitude to manifest as another adaptation that provides him an advantage when dealing with the foundation or simply being alive.

If the Gate Guardian is believed by some to be a servant of the Abrahamic God, then why not test it out They have SCP 343, who claims to be said god in containment They could just cross-test the 2 and see what happens. It would definitely result in some interesting data Also, 682 said he was cursed with his immortality for "suggesting the fruit", a reference to the serpent from Adam and Eve. Thats probably why 343 couldn't kill 682, saying "He's not one of mine". 682 was, in some way, the serpent used by the Devil to tempt Adam and Eve. Combine that with the other theories that link it to SCPs like the Scarlet King and It from SCP 5000, and now you've got a whole lot more story to work with. This is only part of the data in my SCP Beautiful Mind room. I'm gonna fully stitch together a true canon of the SCP Foundation

@@t.e.6415 Technically all these possibility stories are canon. the issue is figuring out which universe they are canon to, as it is concluded both from 05 council back up planes, and one SCP that was a cave there is a multiverse that can be visited. This sadly means in a case of 343 dismissing 682 as one of "His" creations could be because 682 is from a different universe so could still be a creation of a different 343.

Okay, so after watching this, I have an interesting theory. Is SCP-682 the devil? Let me explain. In the video he says “ This is my curse for suggesting the fruit. In the Bible, the Serpant suggests that Adam and Eve eat the fruit off the forbidden tree. Also, 682 states “This is not the garden, the garden is far west of here.” He is claiming to know where the Garden of Eden is. It’s just an interesting idea I had while watching.

So the problem with this theory is the snake is not actually Satan/Lucifer or any demons he/she is just an ordinary talking snake as far as we know it might be even Leviathan at least Leviathan is already a reptile and I personally like to think a giant indestructible reptile talking and suggesting to Eve to eat the fruit Imagine that (also isn't the Serpent in the Library also implied to be the snake?)

A couple of things everyone should Remember Satan aka The Devil isn't exclusively one being as Satan is a shortened version of the hebrew word for "One that Opposes". And the snake is used to represent many different beings including Celtic Pagans and Nordic Heathens that had settled in Ireland thanks to the tell of St. Patrick.

The serpent is symbolic of the unrighteous or chaotic systems of man or some pre man, the sumerians touched on it too in their Genesis myths with Kingu and adapa and Marduk/Enlil who hold the words of Anu, and Enki holding the heart of Anu, the divine spark of "An/En". The book of revelations interprets the genesis story but 99% of people religious and non miss that lol

What I love most about 682 stories isn’t the insane most times inexplicable ways he survives, but both his snarky remarks and the various bits of explanation to his existence. Where here he is implied to have existed with the gods, being Lucifer Morningstar himself, cursed to immortality. Meanwhile in another he is the last of his species refusing to die, and in another he is the physical concept of the idea of hatred. Stuff like this makes me want to write an scp and see what wonders other people would do with it

The trick would be to get SCP 682 to adapt into a form that causes him to rapidly decay. Like if you could attack him with something that forces him to transform to adapt, and that thing he transforms into, is the trap. You might not be able to kill him, but he may be forever trapped in an endless cycle of adaptation - perpetually shifting from one form to another in order to keep himself alive. He cannot create entirely new unseen elements, correct? He is bound by the natural systems of the universe. He can't pull things from non existence into existence, he merely adapts according to our periodic table. So there must be a cycle he can be trapped in. Man I wish I knew science, so whenever I had an idea, I didn't just look like a bloke in a pub who had two many drinks after his wife left him.

You sound like a Foundation scientist desperately hoping for a way to kill the lizard for good. While not on the level of a severed head, iirc there have been cross tests that ended with 682's body mass having been reduced by a whopping 80% and yet it still survived. This thing is not dying any time soon, and if the gate guardian could actually finish off 682 it would have done so since every single intruder before this has been vaporised.

Scp 682 have the power "absolute regeneration", so, including if the lizard truly desapear absolutely from the existence, without atoms left behind or a history in the book of the time, his regeneration can really make a new scp 682 from nowhere with the original mind and soul. So he is absolutely immortal, absolutely survival and inteligent adaptation to all think can happen, he is not predicting nothing, he doesn't need that, his adaptation can adapt inclusive before than something happens because it's ABSOLUTE. Nothing in all existences or no existences can truly kill him, including GOD can't make nothing to him.

From what i understand scp682 is a multi dimensional 4th wall breaking eldrich God. Some of these scp stories portray him as a jobber though. There are accounts of 682 rewriting himself back into the lore after the creator of the lore itself deleted him. So its hard to reconcile that with the version where that statue killed its whole clan and 682 is the last of its kind and isnt immortal just the things the foundation does to try to kill it they stop too soon though theyre working.

Ok so here’s what I got from this: 1. The Founder was an actual person, not the Gate Guardian or some primordial space deity 2. 682 is presumably the “snake” which tempted Eve in Genesis 3. The Gate Guardian is not Uriel, and the garden behind him is not the Garden of Eden that was spoken of in Genesis 4. I assume that the Gate Guardian and the garden behind him are a sort of decoy for the actual Garden of Eden, which would make sense when you think about it. Why would you have the gateway to Paradise in the most logical place for it to be?

if this was canon then 682 is actually the serpent that convinced Eve to eat the apple from the forbidden tree. it also means he is cursed to be immoral and never perish by god himself. when 343 met 682 he said something about 682 not being one of his. telling the humans to deal with it themself. but he was at least a little annoyed seeing the creature. with that said when the possessed mask can take control of god himelf. it makes him seem less amazing.

Watching everyone try to connect this to other SCP lore is just painful at this point so Imma try to clear some things up: *There is no official unifying canon in the SCP universe.* There are MANY different writers contributing to the universe, and some like to link their SCPs to ones that were written by others. For example, the 682 in this particular scenario appears to be from the "Pitch Haven" continuity, a series of SCPs written by a writer that was not the original creator of 682 or the Gate Guardian. There are multiple different continuities proposing different origins for 682; for example the Scarlett King origin that I've seen brought up a bunch in the comments, which is entirely unrelated to its (682's) origin in Pitch Haven. There are also at least 3 different "Edens" in SCP lore that I can think of off of the top of my head, all of them existing in their own canon. So basically, don't think too hard on this sorta thing. Some SCPs connect, some don't, and some contradict others. That's just how the SCP lore works.

Killing scp-682 is hella simple. If I'm right. 682 is biologically an animal. If yes we can begin. First of all we need weapons, crap ton of them. In order to kill the reptile we need to disable or harm his adaptation process. If we going to constantly change temperature change gases floating around and barrage 682 with different kinds of weapons from a sword to hyper laser of mass destruction every weapon used very short. After a week of different weapons adaptation system will be surely damaged. 682 won't be able to adapt to the right environment. Step 2 is to radiate his recovery system. Since he isn't able to adapt anymore we have to radiate/damage his recovery system. After a day most of recovery cells should be gone. Third step is to simply remove his plot armor. Since he can't adapt and he cannot recover it will be easy to remove plot armor. Last step is to use rocket launcher and kill 682 once and for all

I have a metaphysical theory about 682. There are two types of things, contingent things and necessary things; the firsts are things that could not have existed in the first place, the second group cannot not exist. I propose that the first adaptation 682 got when it began to exist was to turn itself into a necessary creature linking itself into our reality; that's why we can't kill it, it cannot not be there. It is a feature, not a bug.
