@@Vittoo "What happened to Site 13" I believe has alternate versions of them meet. Considering what they are, it's possible that all versions of the two are linked in some way.
@@austinjohnson6642 Oh he'll live again surely. If SCP-343 is truly who he claims to be then he could just resurrect gate guardian easy peezy or straight up create a new one.
@@cedricleeakadominic or fun fact what's dead cant die and a soul cant be destroyed the physical for of gate guardian might have become one of those cakes that you let cook for 5 hours forgetting to take them out but his soul is unchanged and will return to heaven and then he might again be assigned to protect the gate
I didn’t expect the Deer to be involved, but it’s interesting that it was resisting the sun’s power. I’m sad that the guardian died but he did what was necessary. He will go back to his master.
@@Silamon2 sure, the god term doesn't fit ig but given that the term "eldritch" means "strange or unnatural especially in a way that inspires fear"; ig that term fits.
@@masshysteria9657 I... guess? Eldritch gods usually imply something more specific though, along the lines of Cthulu. There are plenty of Eldritch god scps.
Hahaha funny thing is when he died he just went to heaven or paradise the place he was protecting soo he if he wanted to can open the gate come out of it and protect it again
He knew he couldn’t fight THE DEER when its actions were controlled by the Broken Sun. So he at least made sure to essentially weld the Gate closed to prevent anyone from tainting it. And as long as that remained true and the Garden was still untouched, he would be fine with perishing. Even though he had to kill himself, he still took down one of the Broken Sun’s strongest forces with him. Loyal to the end.

@@eduardhegyi God in the Bible can do anything, by the way, there were some stronger Angels, e.g. Abbadon, Michael who is an incarnation of God's power . ect
May The Gate Guardian rest in peace, dying in the line of duty against the corrupted creations his creator once so cherished, preventing them from entering the garden, fulfilling his duty right to the very end; as in the intro to robocop verses liu kang from Mortal Kombat 11 said, dying in the line of duty is a worthy and honorable sacrifice. Edit: To those complaining about spoilers, why are you reading the comments before finishing the video?
"If this is how I must die for the garden to be safe, so be it" and with that the guardian gives his life to defend the creation that gave birth to free choice. Edit: wow my most liked comment

Uriel: all my life i was given one job Guard the gate And I did Now? I will no longer be needed to guard the gate *Uriel says this as He Destroys the gate entirely*
I mean one of this 001 proposal's anomalous properties is that it pretty much overrides the anomalous properties of other anomalies it comes into contact with
@@DocBadr we know how it was infected. But the Deer was already considered practically a god in the realm of thought surrounding it. Due to its ability to create, destroy, and distort matter.
Wow... This is pure art. I'm deeply impressed. That final visual made my heart swell with sadness. Well done. You are a master of your craft. Some may say Uriel lost the battle. But he won the war. He defended the gate, and in his final moment, he made it impossible to make it through. He won.
I honestly thought that When Day Breaks was overrated and kinda tiresome and went into this one not expecting a whole lot, but the fact that Uriel pointed out that it might potentially be Abrahamic in origin (Lucifer, literally the morning star) and how that ties into The Deer (Saturn) being The Sun's most powerful tool was really neat. A well thought out and emotional little tale that really stands out from the other really samey When Day Breaks stories.
@@aster2790 Revelation 22:16 "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star." Isaiah 14:12 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!”
I do like the detail of 001 faintly recognizing 2845 from his alternate universe self's time at site 13. Sort of implies he's in faint connection with every version of himself, which does make sense considering he's most likely semi-omniscient.
That's what I love most about this video, and your comment is perfect. It can truly be interpreted either way. We know the Deer is resisting the sun, thus why it likely wants to enter the garden and escape the crimson eye. Or, it's the sun using the Deer to gain access to heaven, despite the Deer's struggling.
Honestly, considering how powerful and evil the deer is, id say it was likely a bit of both. The sun wanted it to come along and get into heaven, but I feel like it itself wanted to destroy heaven rather than assimilate it, following its original nature rather than that of the suns.
I enjoyed this and seeing how the gate gurdian and the deer in a way fought again and the gurdian remembering it when it fought the deer at 1730. I like small details like that and the short story was well writen so continue the great work man.
@@Vittoo they were actually working together to defeat something else, it was at Site 13 where they met. They teamed up and defeated a guy named leech boy
I am in awe, the last thing I expected was another SCP other than the light and the gate guardian. I also love how we were able to know what the gate guardian was thinking and feeling. Great work!
Many years later, after all life was extinguished, the sun turned yellow... earth healed and repaired itself. All traces of civilization crumbled and turned to dust, the oceans and lands cleared to their natural states as the millennia rolled by. Then by happenstance... in the middle of nowhere in the ocean... a tiny creature formed from light and water, and began swimming not knowing its purpose, but knowing instinctually it needed to gather resources to grow.... thus the first bacteria was born..again...
_"Be the choice to survive as a cowardly traitor, or live my final moments with honour and courage, then my body shall crumble a thousand times more, before my spirit and will are broken."_
What a stunning battle. In addition to the accurate animations and the jaw-dropping narration, I've gotta say that at times, the SCP universe have never felt so close to reality.
Just imagine the hell that some of these self-regenerating SCPs are going through under this damned sun. Do some have exposure and have the same futile and constant fight to regain their original forms? Do others successfully fight back against the sun and take up arms against the flesh? Who knows.
@@DarthDestructusTheSithLord dr Bright does fight back against the flesh i think? 682 managed to get rid of the part that had fallen to the Sun and adapt, hell the Deer itself still had its own personnal abilities meaning even if it couldnt prevent the sun from taking it over it was still fighting back from within (which honestly could explain why it died as result of the fight since the Deer is hella powerfull even if Uriel is strong too)
@@Freedmoon44 Oh definitely. The Deer most likely aided in its own demise in this story. We know for a fact that, despite the sun still succeeding, the Deer still resisted to the very end. Heck, if the sun truly had control of the Deer's powers, then it could literally tear holes into other universes and cross over before terrorizing the denizens of those realities. And yet, deer-boi resisted to the very end - not allowing the sun to use all that it was capable of.
This took an entire army controlled by gods first creation, a cursed STAR, a literal reality warping god to take him down. He stood until the very end, completing his final duty.
I love the metaphor of chess pieces used by the writer as pawns, bishops, rooks, and queens, are part of the game which only leaves the knights, and kings. The black king could be the sun ordering the black pieces to move, while the white and black queens could be Uriel and the deer. The white king is another being above, The ending being stalemate as both kings are still alive but there is no other way (that I see) that white or black can checkmate the other. I'm not sure about the knights although I may have missed them, this is still amazing writing!
I think the white king still has a bunch of free pieces (the angel legions are still mostly intact) but they are traped and unable to help in this situation resulting in the stalemate you mention
@@eduardhegyi perhaps the stalemate was not only because of the pieces but maybe the amount of time has run out being indicated by the gate closing but indeed the white king must have almost all of the other pieces intact since none of them have been spotted fighting against the sun other than the white queen (being Uriel)
Fun fact to all of you saying that only uriel fought it's wrong uriel summoned the legions the pawns which failed against the queen so rest of them were not used and were ordered to retreat inside the gate so if something other peaces were used other than just the queen in this game of ultimate chess
Damn, I didn't expect the DEER to be there and its sad, it didn't want to do it as it tried to resist the sun, however futile. In the end though, both perished as the Gate to Eden closed permanently, leaving only the husk of the two powerful SCPs of many. Still though this does raise some questions of what great importins to the flesh that the Garden had for them. Perhaps Power, perhaps it wanted to spread its corruption to a realm and gain godly abilities, we will never know.
3:34-How many animals would the Sun need for THAT amount of flesh? The Gate Guardian is 300 m tall, yet those pillars of flesh make the angel look TINY!! Not sure if there is enought flesh on the whole planet to make this!
The sun let out rays of light, it was feeling joy. Seeing the gate now defenseless and the guardian dead he could finally enter, after so much time. The flesh moved from all directions towards the gate drawing nearer and nearer, until they came to a halt. A large humanoid which seemed to be comprised of shining steel exited the garden. The being was massive. About 90 kilometers tall. It then spoke, its booming voice heard for miles on end. Hear me sons of flesh, I shall eradicate the world of your filth, you have corrupted the future of humanity full of technology and innovation. I am Mehkhane and I will eradicate the world of flesh, and destroy the corrupted sun. The sound of gears turning and moving could be heard as the being pointed its finger at the sun. Fear me yalbadoth. It will not be like before.
@@arthurmorganlefaye7626 im not talking about the sarkicism im talking about the story of this comment its an amazing continuation of the events of the video
@@larno80 preaty shure there is no corelation betwen the when day breaks canon that scp ilustrated is building( there is a canon scp explained is also building but it's more like cross-test than an actual story) and The broken god/Mehkaine. It might just be speculation since we know that the gate guardian's superior is some form of god, he created the thing that live on Earth and wishes to keep them they way they are and Yaldaboth is trying to revert humans back to they're primal nature(notice how the flesh mostly acts on instinct and not by logic).
I just gotta say, I really like your writing style. So much talk of blood and material, and such an emphasis on physicality. Everything is either divine or demonic, and nothing in-between
Gate Guardian is a real trooper. And to that, I'll give him the Halo Spartan Sendoff. Name: SCP 001, Uriel, The Gate Guardian Status: Missing In Action
Glad I could catch this the day it was uploaded. Loved the comparisons to chess, it made the battle feel calculated and deliberate. Also, think I'll have to check out those playing cards next payday. Those look awesome.
I love apocalypse theme tropes and since introduce to SCP 001 and searching more on it finding your playlist I gotta say I'm loving every bit of it and the way these stories are played should be a film of them, also love the artwork and narrations from them hope to see more "when day breaks"^^
Just to understand The deer was still himself? Because I believed that the sun could not replicate the scp abilities So was the deer trying to escape the sun or was the broken day trying to invade the Eden? Anyway awesome video
The deer was more than just an ordinary SCP; it was a literal god. I'm guessing that's what made him able to resist the sun, even though it failed in the end.
But how it was mind control and use is abilities? The scary thing about the broken sun is that it can cancel pretty much every semi biological scp , is it not? Honestly I find scarier that the deer choices the battle with Uriel to be the safe options. It means it could not escape
Uriel: * is peacefully protecting the garden of Eden* Day: * Breaks and turns things into monsters* Uriel: " this will be fun 😊 " The deer SCP: " Unfortunately for you I don't see it that way " Uriel: " ah shet here we go again " Uriel and the deer: * DIES*
Wow... Just... Wow... This was epic. Just like the final clash in "What Happened to Site 13?", which also involved the Deer, this was borderline apocalyptic.
I am curious to see SCP ILLUSTRATED's approach to a 343 in this setting. It's already been done by another channel, but considering these all seem to be tailored for their specific channels rather than being part of the SCP wiki and "official" lore [if such a thing as the SCP universe can even have an official canonical lore], it should mean that we'll get some substantial insight into how each channel's creators interpret both 001 When Day Breaks and 343.
@@RPGTKingpin the scp official canon should contain as much of the base lore as possible. I belive all the main scp's like 049 035 106 096 etc should be part of the "main Universe" since tbey do not contradict eachother and the "side Universes" should be stories like When day breaks or the many entries of Scp-001 or 4999 and obviously timelines in wich the broken god has ben assembled, the scarlet king is succeding in atacking the world, the O-5 council is dead/confirmed or any other space-time or informational anomaly is present.
Wow the gate guardian versus SCP 2845 I'm sure if it was just normal then the fight would have gone on a lot longer or ended even quicker but since it was still resisting the flesh in some way it most likely held back wanting the gate guardian to kill it and end the evers lasting suffering of melting away and reforming that it was going through Edit: if SCP-2845 was barely even hanging on to itself from when day breaks what the hell do you think 682 is going to do to stand a chance?
@@SSJYT maybe or maybe he's in a Non-Stop war of melting and then regenerating kind of like 2845 but unlike 2845 682 is somewhat winning the war with his ability to constantly evolve unlike SCP 2845 which "was" barely holding on to its own body which is kind of sad because uriel somewhat knew who he was fighting which just made the fight between those two sad instead of epic like how some people speculated it would be for them
I love how "when day brakes" always overpower even the most powerfull SCPs. When you see another SCP loose you know that all efford are hopeless. I can't wait to see the final of this story
@@Kolopo-ev6dx I am 99% sure that 682 could never be controlled by him, also the story in this one kinda broke how the original scp 001 worked, since it should have got rid of their power? but it did not, anyway I am sure that 682 could prevent the sun taking over him
Brovo my friend. You are the best at narration. Even with the animated scp channels I still come back here for a good story. 10/10 If possible can you make a SCP 343, SCP 001 The Scarlet King, or SCP 610 When Day Breaks? Maybe a part 2 of SCP 096. Even though his flesh melted, his unbreakable skeleton grows it back. That what use to be the shy guy has now the conscience of himself before being SCP 096.
Just gotta say this. The scarlet king is overkill. Not even the sun could touch the LITERAL EMBODIMENT OF A GOD KILLER!! Seriously he would swat the sun away like a fly as it is beneath him. Yeah it can effect other SCPs but I think he may be a wee bit too strong for the sun to work on him.
@@colossusshadowlord6390 I'm sure that scp 096 will be able to survive and to kill this stupid anomaly, his strength and durability are limitless, he has ultimate abilities of invulnerability and immortality at another level, this stupid corupted sun will be dead!
scp 610 is interesting as they are pretty similar to when day breaks creatures mabye they would be mutations having both the sun monsters abilitys and there current ones
My favourite SCP fighting the gate guardian. This was a real treat. Though I suspect the outcome would be vastly different if Gabriel, Raphael and Michael were to joint Uriel in that fight.
He did resist it its a literally god its said that if a scp gets controlled by the sun its powers woulda been gone so the deer in 1730 was in control but still flesh like
@@FreezinUrTundra because it literally wanted to itself Drbight and 682 have been able to not be controlled by the suns power and they are not godlike so im guessing he literally was very cocky and decided to break into eden
I thought that, when SCP-001: The Gate Guardian would be touched and mutated by the sun would recognize the sun as a threat, and destroy it. Causing an end of the world scenario as the supernova would destroy the entire solar system.
@@trashdrawingghost7843 My point is if the sun mutates and disables him he wouldn't be able to defend the gate. So he would remove the sun as a threat. Simple.
Probably still alive, he has survived a fight against the Guardian. And, well, do you really think the lizard would stand the idea of all living beings fused into one single harmonious entity?
@@cyberlemon9840 you still think scp 682 is weaker than the gate guardian? Just wait for scp 682 to release its adaptation and evolutions, the gate guardian will be dead, scp 682 never die, he is forever!
oooh this was a good one! Not just one, but three titans of the SCP universe clashing! Even if it's not canon to the Day Breaks universe, it's REALLY cool. Well done!
I never stopped to think that the flesh was able to take hold of a powerful being like SCP-2845. It's even more horrifying to think that the flesh might've went on to taint & destroy Heaven itself. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.
So your telling me now we have crystallized angel warriors on a battlefield where the gate to Eden once stood? Sounds to me like there's either still a key to paradise, or maybe some guardian angel shenanigans can go on
My friend got me into your channel-- I'm a huge SCP fan and was unsettled for weeks when I first read Locke's Proposal so I never got into daybreak, but he got me started on this series. At first I didn't realize these weren't just dubs but actual original stories but that's besides the point-- while watching this series I have never before had to pause the video and open discord to gush about how good the prose is. A combination of beautiful writing and wonderful voice acting made this story one of the best things I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. -a hearty +1- wait
It almost seems like the Great Devourer has been unleashed and became the Sun, if so, may the Old Gods pray that the other Dragon, Mekhane, has been rebuilt and released as well.
Hm, not even the Deer could withstand the sun's corruption, and neither could the gate guardian fight The Deer. Edited: You know, back when I read the 1730 story, I always wondered what would happen in a fight between The Gate Guardian and The Deer. But we never got an answer. A battle between a God of Creation and Destruction; I guess I have my answer.
Question is: when the gate guardian dies, what happens? Does he basically just get transported to heaven and get to have a “hey, boss, can we talk about what just happened” moment with scp-343? Does he just cease to exist at all (which doesn’t make much sense in a universe where it’s basically a given there isn’t just one afterlife, but possibly an infinite amount of them)? Is there some sort of reincarnation thing that happens (and if he’s reincarnated as a human, is that considered a demotion)? This is one story where a follow up would be fascinating.
