A few errors: - Al-Bashir has not been handed to the ICC. - Ethiopian PM is dismantling regional militias. - The military shown at 2:35 is not Sudanese but are Ethiopian federal forces. Would have also been helpful to swap the figures of Al-Burhan and Dagalo to match their respective military emblems at 4:51.

The Ethiopian militia situation is a lot more complex than either "the pm is dismantling regional militias" or "the pm can't control regional militias". The statement "When two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers" is a proverbial expression that means when two powerful entities or individuals engage in a conflict or dispute, it is often the weak or vulnerable who bear the brunt of the consequences. In the case of actual elephants fighting, the surrounding grass and foliage could be trampled or destroyed in the process. However, the proverb is typically used in a metaphorical sense to describe situations where powerful individuals or entities are engaged in a conflict, and the unintended consequences of their actions negatively affect those who are weaker or less powerful. This proverb serves as a reminder that the actions of those in positions of power can have significant consequences for others, particularly those who lack the means to protect themselves. It highlights the importance of considering the broader impact of our actions and decisions, and working towards resolving conflicts peacefully and with consideration for all parties involved. Pray for Sudan and all the Sudanese people because they are the ones who will truly suffer

Just a bit of context, omar al bashir wasn't the one who masterminded the coupe. It was hassan al turabi. However, as turabi is a civilian & not a military officer, he personally couldn't initiate the coupe it had to go through the army Second, the 1989 bloodless coup was planned since at least 1985, as the political body that governed omar al bashir lost in aidans' last free democratic elections. They even sabotaged the peace attempts, which would have rought an end to the second civil war.

Let me explain some details Actually, the public is leaner to the side of the military than RSF because of the difference in nature of the two armies. The Sudanese military has about 200000 members from all regions of sudan containing not only fighting soldiers but also different types of engineers and doctors and has different types of weapons. Most of the lower ranking personnel are against AL burhan, so the public problem with the military is just with its leadership . While RSF is a totally different story . it's a group of militias, not a professional army. Actually actually it has many members of underage and all of its higher rankings from a one family
@sms1511

But the SAF is also rife with kaizan or many of Bashir's former loyalists who instigated these clashes. We might think that the army is better than the RSF however its no secret that its the former regieme heads that will be re-established after this, nullifying all what we did in the revolution

@nisantasicoocugu216
@nisantasicoocugu216 Год назад
It all started with Ethiopia's construction of the Renaissance Dam. Although this was Ethiopia's most important project, it was dangerous news for Egypt. Because getting less water meant desertification of Egypt. Egypt is a country where there is no population control. They definitely don't plan. The population continues to increase at an increasing rate every year. At this point, demanding the right to use the Nile river in Sudan, just like in Ethiopia, meant the end of Egypt. That's why Egypt is doing their best to break out all these civil wars, first in Ethiopia and then in Sudan. But salvation for Egypt is not the Nile river. Because of climate change, Africa's Great Lakes region receives much less precipitation and the Nile flows less and less each year. If there is an exit for Egypt, it is to establish desalination facilities developed to work with "solar energy". They should establish these facilities at various points on the Red Sea coast and turn their immediate surroundings into agricultural areas.

@danielmisgana2672
@danielmisgana2672 Год назад
I’ve seen your comments multiple times on this video, and you should know that the destruction you’re saying will happen isn’t likely to happen. Firstly, the existence of a dam on any body of water doesn’t dry up that body of water. Even if there’s a dam, water still flows through it. The water passes through turbines before continuing downstream. There are two tangible issues with the GERD, which has already completed construction for some time. The first issue is that there is a filling period. During operation, the dam lets water go through it to generate electricity. But before it can get to that point, a reservoir has to be built behind the dam upstream. This means for a number of years, Ethiopia must divert water that was headed downstream. Ethiopia plans to take less than 10 years to divert water. Egypt wants Ethiopia to take more time so the diversion is a lower rate, and Ethiopia wants to do it quicker so they can generate electricity. Either way, the end result is a return to normalized flow. The other issue is that of security. Without a binding agreement, Egypt is afraid of Ethiopia having the leverage of a dam. In a hypothetical war/drought scenario, Ethiopia could plug up the dam to harm Egypt. This is highly unlikely as this is equivalent to a crime against humanity, but since the Nile is Egypt’s main water supply, the Egyptian government is understandably nervous. To that point, Egypt doesn’t want Ethiopia to use the dam water for irrigation, citing an agreement made by the British that Ethiopia never signed. All that being said, there’s no need to panic. It’s a perfectly manageable situation. The dam is already built, has the potential to make the Nile’s flow constant instead of fluctuating between floods and low tide, it will generate a massive amount of electricity, and all parties stand to benefit. It’s even aided by the fact that there has been heavy rain in the region for the last couple of years, so it’s even less of an issue for the filling process. The only recommendation I would make is for Ethiopia, Sudan, and Egypt to make efforts to prevent water evaporation. Solar coverings and water coverage helps with this massively, helping all nations maintain their supplies of water for generations to come.

While I enjoyed listening to your show and have found it to be mostly informative, I think you do have the potential to become a great channel where people can learn and get good, current, and accurate information. As I said, while most of your information was accurate, I just had a few issues with a statement you stated, it might have been because you are either misguided or lack of knowledge or just echoing the same unfounded allegation against Eritrea. You stated in passing, " Two failed states Somalia and Eritrea". what exactly is your measurement to say a country is failed state? if it is not having a functional government, I can see why you might think of Somalia due to not being able to govern the whole of Somalia from a centralized government for the past 25-plus years. But when it comes to Eritrea, I am not sure what your basis is to say, Eritrea is a failed state? is it because it is a poor country? I was not aware being a poor country makes you a failed state. As matter of fact, there are many countries where the citizen lives in much poorer conditions than that of Eritrea. As a matter of fact, Eritrea has had in the horn of Africa the most stable government than anyone in its neighbors. For the past 30-plus years, Eritrea is the only country that has had a stable government with a functional government. Yes Eritrea does not bow down to the demands and manipulation of the West; hence has been under a campaign by the west to attack the leadership of the country and belittling the country in any way the find suits their agenda. Eritrea is one of the only countries in the horn with almost nonexistent debt from the west. While it should be respected and applauded for wanting to work hard and refuse hand out, it has been continuously ridiculed and accused using the excuse of human rights allegations. The fact to the matter is, not every country has to subscribe to the "democratization principle of the West" You must respect others with their own aspirations and desire, you are the GOD nor the decision maker of this world to decide who is failed state and who is not failed, how a country should lead its life or not. The fact is, if the West does not exploit Africa, They will be a basket case, and this exploitation continues to this day, and in the case of Eritrea, one can say, is among the few countries in Africa that have recognized the abuse and exploitation of the West and has refused and for this it has been a subject of false campaign and attack. So my brother, if you want us to respect you as a true telling journalist, please do your homework before you speak about African countries and try to lecture us about who is failed and who is not, instead please educate to facts and truth in the ground and be a voice to the voiceless and speak about the continual modern colonization that is going on to African countries by the west and speak about how countries like Eritrea are fighting this. Hope you take my criticism from a place wanting to educate you and hope to see you get better in your future posts. Hope to hear from you more and best of luck to you!

I'm failing to wrap my mind around the logic here of why and how western countries could be substantially responsible for this. First, _why_ ? The Horn of Africa is not _that_ strategically important for Europe. Sure, if the Suez Canal were to be blocked off that would be bad news, but regime change in Sudan is not going to do that. To the extent Europe has a strategic incentive to care about the Horn of Africa at all, stability would be better than instability (given instability leads to waves of migration, can interfere with business activity and can spiral in unpredictable ways). Second, the practicalities. Fermenting a war or a coup is expensive, difficult and risky. It would require extensive manpower, resourcing and time to do, and often goes wrong even with all of that. Western countries _have_ probably done that kind of thing in the past, in concert with local actors, but primarily when they have had strong geopolitical or security interests in doing so. Seriously, just imagine for a sec you are a German foreign minister, why the hell would you want a war in Sudan? It's not worth it.
