I'm from Sudan, thank you for talking about my country, the Army failed to protect the state and the people from the RSF and its allied Arab militia because they're being supplied by countries like the UAE... kinda whished if you talked about how some countries are negatively impacting the peace process in my country beside the multiple peace initiatives that also complicated the matter.
THANK YOU so much for covering this. As a Sudanese i really can't help but get so frustrated over the lack of media coverage for this conflict. This war has been going on for longer than anyone had initially expected and the lives of millions of people including me, have been disrupted and yet most people don't even know there's an ongoing war here lol. Once again i really appreciate you for making this video.
It's crazy how it's not being covered more, but you're not alone. Erdogan is bombing and ethnically cleansing millions of Kurds. Pakistan is nakbahing 2 million Afghanis, and Assad is still killing Syrians. Israel/Palestine has captured the entire world. No Jews, no news, I guess.
Im American and although I was never bog into news until recently, I am honestly disappointed I had never even heard of this. Not shocked, necessarily, but very disappointed that things like this can happen and go under so many people’s radars. I hope you and all your loved ones are ok❤❤
I'm Kenyan and even I have never heard of it despite us not being that far away from each other...it's literally never on the news or in any discussion
2 challenges: a) no unity which means potencial infighting post succession and thus a continuum of atrocities (we don't know with certainty how much this is possible) and b) landlocked making it dependant of neighbours who have been cooperating directly or indirectly with the atrocities, thus unreliable independance or potencial fighting of competing countries for its vassalage. Sometimes geography and location makes it 10x harder for a simple solution as is independance.
as a darfuri and sudani, you have failed to understand that the people who want secession are the arab rsf Janjaweed militias. they want to basically carry out a full scale genocide, which they currently are, and if they can have it separate, it will become far too vulnerable for African tribes. their plan is to exterminate africans, which will cause other Africans to leave darfur (just like now and in 2003) because they want the land to be occupied by arabs. Currently, they're bringing in arabs (shuwa and baggara) from Chad, norther nigeria and also niger. Particularly niger, since Mohammed bazzoum (first nigerien president of arab ethnicity) was ousted from power. They want to bring these people to replace the African tribes. With the help of the UAE, they want to build a nation for them, with facilities and services. the main component of the RSF militia are the rizeigat arab tribe. They can be found in chad and sudan primarily and are abut 4 million in size making them superior in size. This tribe hosts the main leaders of not just the RSF like Mohammed hamdan dagalo but also when it was named the Janjaweed, the militia from 2003, its leader was musa hilal (a cousin to hamdan). in 2003, the africans reblled due to the region being the most marginalised, but the truth is the most marginalised group within darfur were the arabs, who are cattle heading nomads. They weren't a nation because they have no homeland. other tribes like the fur and zaghawa do. Now they want to make their land their own. its kinda like the great replacement theory euopeans have but the difference is in darfur its the reality.
@@InugamiTheHound well it may be contributing but these things occur worldwide. Look at Myanmar, Uyghur autonomous region in China, or how Americans wiped out natives.
@@dogukan7406 yeah its very common thing in Muslim country, look at Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Egypt, Central Asia countries and Pakistan, Killing many non-muslims over the past 200 years. Forcing so many to leave their homes.
Thing is most regions of Sudan were at some point sultanates, empires, kingdoms, the north had the three Christian Nubian kingdoms, the east had the Funj Sultanate, the west had Darfur Sultanate.
@@Threezi04 because they choose to classify themselves as Arabs. Also, considering how their kill squads separate local African tribes based on skin color and tribe, I think that should you they don't view themselves as black Africans.
@@Gamer-fz5gl Yes it is. What size of land or population is viable for self determination. Does Catalunya have the human right to gain independence from Spain? If so, does the province of Barcelona have the human right to secede from Catalunya? If so, does the county of Anoia have the human right to secede from Barcelona? If so, does a local council have the human right to secede from Anoia? If so, does a street have the human right to secede from the local council? Etc etc.
This should be no surprise. The African continent was never supposed to be drawn up this way. We have it to ourselves that it is so unstable, even today
@@UltimatePaSe1incorrect. It was no more unstable than any other tribal land and western/northern africa had plenty of stable, prosperous nation states. The kingdom of ghana, mali, aksum, and the sultanate of morocco just to name a few.

the problem is the janjaweed, who are committing this genocide in Dar-Fur are considered one of the tribes in the region. The case in South Sudan was different, as South Sudanese were fighting a common enemy which resided in the north. and we were ideologically vastly different. unlike dar-furian who consider they have more common traits due to their common religion.
Somali here.. I wish we could all get along. I have Darfurian south and north Sudanese friends. Growing up I didn't know about these rifts and conflicts. Very unfortunate
that will never happen as long as these invaders reside on our continent and mistreat those who are native to the land. Sudan is a country doomed to eternal suffering in all Abrahamic books. It is by God's grace that that South Sudan is free from that disgusting place. Now we just need to change our name to free ourselves of that cursed place completely.
And what will happen after darfur becomes independent, we already know that the Arab militias and the RSF are from darfur and make up 40% of the population
As a member of the fur tribe I literally say no. Even though we have been mistreated by the government that’s not the same mindset the people has. Darfur is better in Sudan rather than outside of it.
Summary of this video The war in Sudan has been ongoing for 7 months. Thousands of deaths and over 2 million people have been displaced. In early November, paramilitary forces targeted and murdered at least 800 Masalit people. An additional 8,000 people have fled to neighboring Chad. The recent violence in Sudan risks splitting the country apart. The video will explore the history of the separatist movement in Darfur. It will discuss the current ethnic violence unfolding in Darfur. The possibility of Darfur succeeding in the future will be considered. Viewers are encouraged to subscribe and ring the bell for notifications. A civil war erupted in Sudan in April, led by the Sudanese armed forces and rapid support forces. The violence quickly spread to other parts of the country, including Darfur. In June, the provincial capital of West Darfur was attacked, displacing non-Arab populations. In July, a mass grave with 87 bodies was found near the city. In early this month, the town of Adata was attacked, resulting in the murder of over 800 Masalit people.
Are you deaf? In the video they made it clear that Darfur is Muslim, this conflict has nothing to do with religion it is an ethnic conflict where all sides are Muslim.
@@MenwithHillyeah I hope they keep this trend going Well actually I don’t because that would mean more war and bloodshed, but if there is gonna be war and bloodshed they may as well keep the directional thing going
@@bababababababa6124 the genocide was already happening before Sudan started to blow up into bits. Separation is not what's gonna result in more violence, it's the one hope that the minorities of the country have to get a government that can protect them and not just let ethnic cleansing run rampant.
This war has nothing to do with religion -_- Are Muslims not even allowed to fight now? If you saw two random muslims get into a streetfight over a personal spat would you say "religion of peace strikes again"?
The Sudanese people deserve better than this, amazing culture, I hope they have peace in the near future somehow although currently things seem to be getting worse.
As a Sudanese I want to thank you from heart for spreading awareness, however the map you showed is wrong. The triangle of Halaieb and Shalateen is Sudanese land illegaly occupied by the Egyptian army. I would really appreciate if you made a video on this topic

@@anyiethyai1261 that’s not feasible. It’s easier to join ssd like many Darfur want, and many them are fleeing to South Sudan anyways. So while the borders aren’t permanently set it’s better so when they are eventually Darfur can be a part of ssd

With respect to your opening statement: So what is the Developed World supposed to do about it? Invade? The Developing World hates it when that's done. Send humanitarian aid? A band aid that doesn't solve anything.
Every conflict in Africa ever since the African nations have gained independence demonstrates repeatedly that giving them their independence was the wrong thing to do.
@@ngari117 Such isn't the right thing to do. If you see two guys fighting each other, you try to stop the fight before they hurt each other more, not stand by and watch them kill each other.
If Darfur does secede, will it be recognized as an independent state? That's what I want to know. Also, if Darfur does secede and become an independent state such as South Sudan it might only be the beginning of their problems. Look at South Sudan and the chaos that has erupted in the country since.
Ethiopia would also splits into different countries like Yugoslavia....Eritrea and Tigray gone now Somalia, oromo, gambella and gumuz are on their way 😢😢😢
Wow. I don’t know if that will fix the problems. South Sudan split from Sudan and still has its issues. Splitting into another country can mean a new start but it also can mean less resources overall to put towards other issues.
State hood is a long and complicated process. Tell me the country that managed that in a straightforward and pain free way. Especially with a population lacking decent education and financial means.
@@AsiaMinor12im from South Sudan. Who want to live by Arab Sudanese. Its disaster, Genocide for Darfur since 2003. Millions people Killed , Raped, Burn alive etc.
@sudanesemappingball249 which means the Sudanese army can not defeat them militarily, they have to come to the table hold negotiations, and end the civil war. Sudan is one of the biggest nations in Africa and if there is war it affects every one of us. Stop the war now. I am from the Tigray regional state of Ethiopia and I care a lot for all of the Sudanese people. They do not deserve this deadly civil war.
There are no active separatist groups in Darfur, despite the fact that most of what you said is accurate. If they do cecede, it will still be the same population of warring groups and the violence won't stop, so neither the RSF nor the other non Arab groups are looking for separation. In fact there are stronger separatist movements in North and East Sudan as there is a movement there that is arguing that a unified Sudan will always be a failed state.
Those arab states are conected to economic interest groups and actually participate in buying the raw material that is exploited and what actually produces this conflict. Ofcourse, it isn't in their interest to allow darfurians to choose who gets to exploit these ressources 😂.
It’s true, Sudan is an artificial creation of the British and Egyptians. There can be no united Sudan because it does not correspond to ethnic and religious boundaries.
That really depends on wether or not they get foreign support. Wouldn't be the first nation to become landlocked via secessionism, ask Ethiopia. But Eritrea had good foreign support. Sudan will most certainly declare war if the Beja get anywhere near strong enough to worry them.
Why should they? Your arab populations keep killing them and don’t even grant them equality or dignity. They should become part of Chad or become independent
@@lanxy2398 It wouldn't work you know why? 1- the RSF are made from the arab tribes that LIVES IN DARFUR. Even if Darfur becomes a country the killing wouldn't stop. 2- landlock country surrounded by countries that helped directly or indirectly of committing those atrocities so the relationship between them will be weak. 3- tribal wars aren't a new thing in Darfur they were fighting each other for years
@@emptyhad2571 tell that to the Black Africans being murdered in Darfur by Arabs do you think they want to stay in a country that wants to genocide them?

@@foxpro3002 Americans in Detroit are perpetually stuck in a state of war. More Americans have died in Detroit than any Arab in Iraq or Paxtun in Afghanistan ever.
What people don’t understand is that this is not a war between Sudan and Darfur. This is a war between the Sudanese army and out of control RSF that have rebelled against the state and are committing these atrocities in Darfur. In addition, Darfur is not entirely non Arab in fact 40% of its population are baggara Arabs from western Sudan myself included and I would never support separation from Sudan. The same Darfur rebel groups have now joined hands with the Sudanese army to fight the RSF. The RSF itself are the janjaweed (Arabs of Darfur) and seceding Darfur would not fix the problem because the RSF would just tag along 😂😂😂
Looking at the issue from EU. This is what always made me scratch my head about how the media reports this. A Darfur government right now would be an RSF government. And RSF are the ones commiting the atrocities. So how the hell is that being pushed by journos as a possible stop to the atrocities?! Seriously. "Darfur has historically been secessionist so now RSF can use that to secede" really doesn't work as an argument when the secessionists are alive, active and fighting against the RSF but its like every god damned journalist talking about it immediately defaults to that talking point. Do they have a script? If so I wanna know who the hell writes it so I can introduce them to basic logic 101.
TLDR News Global is unfit to be talking about this topic because I know for a fact that they talk about what is already obvious and known by the masses. It's sad that y'all can't talk about what's really happening in these war without RU-vid hovering on y'all asses
It is ONLY religion that brings peace to the hearts of the millions that are affected by these conflicts. And it is ONLY the irreligious (almost or completely atheistic people) that use, abuse, misuse the emotional power of religion to serve their own selfish hunger of power and perpetuate ghastly regimes of tyranny. This story is as old as time.
Atheism works only for those who sit as privileged, full of arrogance. The moment the privileges are gone, material resources vanished, atheism plunges people into their worst selves… If religion did not bring peace, throughout human history of pain suffering (even today), every suffering and painful individual should have been atheistic…Fortunately NOT TRUE, nowhere, never…. Apart from many other reasons, Atheism is a result of unimaginable privilege that turns into arrogance…..

The biggest with problem with this type of coverage is the lack of nuance when discussing race and ethnicity in Africa. In this video the guy calls non-Arab Sudanese "African" and "Black", as if those labels can't apply to the Sudanese Arabs as well. Would it kill Westerners to stop treating Africans as an interchangeable monolithic group? For the record the non Arabs are Nilotic and Nilo-Saharan people.
