16:06 Taiwan has acquired at least 600 pac3 interceptors from US by 2024, with newer batches coming in as MSEs. And there are at least 3 TK3 regiments deployed as of now, with newer THAAD-like improved versions underway.
Not to mention the fact that Taiwan (or at least the US CSG in the area) has Arleigh-Burke Destroyers, which are capable of carrying and launching SM-3 ABM (Anti-Ballistic Missile) interceptors. So…zero reason for every ballistic missile fired in phase 1 of this scenario to hit their target, and multiple reasons for most (if not all) of them being intercepted outright.
F-22's are land based jets not equipped for carrier operations. They'd have to come from Japan or the Philippines if they are there. Or Alaska. They could probably get there in 5-6 hours if needed.
@@Hurricayne92 I pretty sure theres a few f22s at kadena in Okinawa. I dont think they are officially stationed there but I believe theres always a few on the property.
Can we all stop to appreciate that one F-5 that survived all the way to the end, and was, from the looks of it, leading the charge to shoot down one of the Chinese AWACS at the end? Like…those things entered service in the ‘60s.
JH-7 is from the late 80s to early 00s and is actually probably the first borderline 4th gen aircraft of any type that China produced. It's wasn't a great aircraft by any parameters but still serves the "anti ship bomb trunk" role relatively effectively even today.
23:57 And Taiwan has its own SM-2 capable Kidd/KeeLung class that you excluded and are capable of intercepting supersonic cruise missiles. Taiwanese Perrys and could launch Hsiang Feng AShMs as well, which comes in with land based version and is totally missing here also. This can also be carried by some modern Taiwanese corvettes, which are armed with amraam-like TC-2 missiles and will be able to intercept some supersonic AShMs too.
These sims are interesting, thanks! I wonder if it would work for you to record the sim at reduced speed, then playback at regular, adding commentary at that point.
@@hanrenfighterjet : Wrong. US and Philippines now have a formal military alliance. US is just as committed to the defence of the Philippines today as it was back in 1941.
Cap hates that Super Bogs won the day, I bet!😆 Thanks for all the effort you put into these, it shows, I've seen some of the old ones. "This is the last one of Taiwan I'll ever do", famous last words, Cap 2024.
You kind of do have control over what way the planes take off from the runway. I've found if you want them to take off a certain way you have to use the weather tab. Make the wind go in the right direction for a good head wind, so the opposite way they will take off, then it works most of the time. The biggest problem is the AI just NOT doing anything half of the time.
He should be called "Dong Long" to give him a bit of kudos with the Chinese airforce. That must have taken hours and hours to get ready, thank you, Cap! One of the Testes!
Hey Cap, hypothetical question. If you ran the simulation on slow speed could your pc handle having all the assets at once? I am thinking you could pre record the video and then react to a sped up version.
I think china also has a modified copy of "DCS" and ppl on bilibili has made videos about china vs the US and china almost always wins. The bilibili channel plays what is called DCS but the shaders and shit does not look like DCS but it does look VERY similar.
Why would you give the US 6 Arleigh Burke III's? If all the assets are divided by three, then that would imply the US sent 18 Arleigh Burke III's to this battle when only 1 has been built in real life. Also, the Chinese would 100% attack Taiwanese airfields here and I see you're still having the Chinese ships carry land attack missiles which they can't use in this battle, which is even more ridiculous than usual as there are land targets to attack here.
Go through most of the videos involving the chinese if the Americans arent given a buff of some kind its always a close call if not a loss for America.
You know... There's zero realism or anything approaching realism in these large scenarios. There are so many compromises that are being made to accommodate the sim or the PC running it that these become simply just watching DCS do DCS things with random set pieces. There's nothing sim or realistic about it. Grats to Cap for setting up a complex script. But it's all theater.
CAP made the correct comment: suppose all this happened at once? Could the computing power of the various units handle it? There would be planes, missiles, drones, decoys... I am guessing they stress test all the computers to see what happens... but there would be an unimaginable number of contacts to manage.
Hey Cap, another great sim considering the parameters in which you were restrained. Although I seriously doubt China could launch a sneak attack on Taiwan like this.
What about anduril's new lrasm jr.'s, apparently, you can put their new missiles in the rapid dragon deployment with 200 mile range, but the bombs are just smaller. Look it up.
I wonder if the new game coming soon from Microprose, Sea Power : Naval Combat in the Missile Age, with a lot of mods could do realistic simulations... better than DCS??? Hmmm
un-CAP-PED Greatness. Not sure if anyone else feels the same when I say your formation flying is the highlight for me. The shenanigans and everything else is good but the tight formation flying is the real highlight for me. Perhaps this is engrained in me watching your 1160 Mile Long Distance Strike video, with fully loaded Tomcats closely together, then having a another jet like the Flanker scoot up along side, joining you, and we get to see the differences between the jets or, a little Green Button with its puny engines trying to breathe fire. So, always a pleasure when you and Simba and all the fellas squeeze together for the in or egress. Very nice to see formation landing as well. Cheers.
We have missle trucked everything now except either a mega freighter or a aircraft carrier. So the question is, can China survive a super carrier packed to the brim with missle farms instead of planes. And one very Very large "launch everything " button😂
There being a few mins after launch during which the ballistic missiles are detectable, could the batteries be truck mounted and essentially scatter in all directions in the event of unstoppable incoming that appears aimed at air defence? Perhaps the modern missiles take unpredictable trajectories until the last few seconds, to keep their targets unclear?
its a symbol of how well the CIA and the US government has worked to brain wash american people and promote patriotism. I'm not saying its bad but its funny!
@grimreapers... You're always saying stuff like "I have limited processing power on my PC", etc. What specs are you running? Is it _maybe_ time for an upgrade?
Maybe it's time to upgrade to a serious server pc, with lots of CPU power and ram. Not the bog standard consumer pc, but a real server with 64 cores or something, with an AMD Threadripper and 192GB of ram or more. 🙂
Amer'ca is the best! We'd be happy to take England back with a slight change to the relationship dynamic. Whadd'ya say UK... Wanna be *our* colony for a while?
Not until the MAGA cult is history. Bring back the old 1990's / 2000's GOP (Grand Old Party) with a sensible leader similar to John McCain. Until then, the Republicans should not be in power.
47:37 "i thought it was just going to be me moaning and getting a massive sore throat again for nothing, as usual." Does that happen to you a lot? Edit: mis quote
In the real world, if the PAC2 couldnt stop anything launched from china, taiwan wouldnt have many fighters left... and how many would survive on okinawa hmm. And the problem with defending taiwan is that taiwan is 45 times closer to china than it is to san diego. 255km compared to 11070km. The logistics needed to out-logistic the chinese army are insane. I mean the US out-logisticed Germany in ww2 but then look at the population sizes back then and look at china vs us and manifacturing right now... The US would need to go into full war production and rebuild manufacturing by 10 000%... before the war is over. Good luck with that. The only way taiwan-us wins is if the US has enough subs in the area to sink everything before it makes it to taiwan and even then china will have planes... so taiwan will be forced to fight like in ukraine, totally wrecking taiwan cities with nowhere to run... probably refugee ships trying to escape and a bunch of them getting sunk by mistake. Any real war would be devastating, especially the longer it lasts... TSMC being out of commission would wreck the world economy and all the big tech companies would go kaput, nvidia, amd, apple, etc... the stock market would have a heart attack.
US TSMC factories are under construction so they should be up in a couple years, but yea we need to bring all of the manufacture of all that to the usa permanently.
Id like to know what system you have and if we can help you upgrade it to avoid crashes. I know the game engine is also a limitation but if you had a 4090 Ti with a I9 processor or a top AMD processor I feel like this should make things smoother
4090 TI doesn't exist now when the 5090 comes he could try but even then this game is extremely hard to run with so many assests at ome time regardless of how good the parts in a sytem are.
Sure but i think there are still things that could be done. Multiple assets is a processor issue, graphics and quality is a GPU issue and you can get a super computer and have several CPU's of many computers join together for processing power and you can stack GPU's as well. I am more interested in what he currently has, so we know the current baseline. If he is already utilizing servers and extra processing power and etc then you guys are right not much more can be done, but I am wondering what he has and if the community can help improve that.
