How can there be anyone sitting on the fence between Trump and Biden? They are completely different people with completely different ideologies. It's not as if you're choosing between Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
What about people who aren't bothered to vote though? If they lean towards Trump but weren't too bothered about voting perhaps these events and imagery might push them into voting?
@@neilstapley8255 it's a long time to voting day and a long time for Trump to remind people how disgusting he is and he most certainly will now. Most normal thinking people will look to the response from the 2 parties and see the clear distinction, 1 side spews nothing but hate and the other actually gets things done that benifit the people and not the wealthy and corporations.
@@frankrandall8875exactly, people vote for issues that matter to them. I know people who voted for Trump because they want to retain their gun rights. No other reason.
Do you think biden was really concerned😅? 🤔 I've got a bridge to sell you... Utter nonsense. Bidens' response was written by someone else and read by him (badly) from a teleprompter.
I want Britain to be a independent country not a state of America and frightened to disagree with anything America says or does . I need to stop following like sheep .
After Biden called Trump to make sure he was fine, all Trump said was "Unite America". He didn't even have the decency to say Thanks. Which says a lot about who Trump is as a person.
@@jonathonwhippie6746 If polls were worth anything Hillary Clinton would be running for re-election. I've been a registered voter for almost 40 years, and never once have I ever been polled. Also, what is the methodology of the polls that you put so much faith in?
@@JAWS-qj1rj Sweetie I'd vote for a MF'ing Carrot instead of Trump, also I don't know what dimesia is but if its anything like dementia that's why we have a VP
I don't think the majority of Americans are going to say, okay, now we're ready to give up ours daughters and Grand daughters rights because of what happened!
@blindpanda6211 have you read project 25? Do you think the government should be able to monitor pregnant women and stop them crossing state borders? The only dramatic thing is what they have planned for the country if they win.
@blindpanda6211They've taken away the right to abortion which includes D&C's in the event of miscarriage in many cases, bringing on labour if the waters break before the foetus is viable, allowing a couple whose child will die at birth speeding things up and not going through a full pregnancy to reduce the awfulness of losing their child a tiny bit in 20 states. Now some stats have stopped IVF, so that's women and men who are infertile now on to plums. It will be a Nationwide bank under Trump and they're talking about morning after pill bans then contraception bans. Imagine if your daughter has been told not to have a child because it's dangerous for her. Is she too be celibate in her marriage? But sure, it's just women being hysterical.
In fairness why would we know about American news biases? Fox is famous enough but past that not so much. Still silly but I bet the average yank wouldn't be able to tell you the Telegraph's slant
Exactly what is he losing? He easily won the nomination of his party. He's way ahead in the polls in every state. Polls before this incident. Try doing some reading before barking out your feelings.
He regularly lost about 30% of the vote during the primaries and is ahead by maybe 1% in most polls. 538's EC projection has him losing MI, WI, and PA, the three most crucial states and the race. He lost seats at midterms and lost his reelection.
@@anonymoushuman8962 Erm ... he's lost one or two little things. But he wouldn't be where he is if he "keeps losing". This wouldn't have happened if he really looked like losing. He's risen above everything the State has thrown at gim. And his re-election is a matter for debate. You people are just not programmed to accept facts and reality are you? Smh.
As i keep trying to tell people, this is not a normal US election. This event will change very little as it is less a presidential election (both candidates are awful) and more about whether or not America wishes to remain a democracy. Normally US elections are predicated on the individual personalities running for President. This time around, it is not that. UK media is not understanding this at all and is still viewing the election through the same lense it always has, which has historically been pretty accurate, but times change. This is an enormous inflection point in US politics and bizarrely the media seems incapable of grasping the enormity of the choice Americans are facing, chosing instead to focus on Biden getting a name wrong (we all do it) or Trump being so unpopular that somebody tried to shoot him (again, gun violence not exactly new to the US and also not the first time somebody has tried to off Trump during a campaign. Let's not forget that one person, notwithstanding the shooter, was killed in the attack and on the same weekend 7 were shot and killed in Alabama). To be honest, if I was a US citizen I would find the UK media's take on things to be somewhat insulting to my intelligence. And that extends to people who should definitely know better, like Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell on their podcast.
Are most Americans engaged with what Trump's policies actually mean for Democracy? Are they considering the consequences to be expected of Project 2025, and are they even bothering to find out about it?
When you have nothing and that is ALOT of the USA why would bringing it down make it worse, this is why we lost Brexit.. People will believe the lies if it means they hear what they want to hear
the voter base for Trump has previously voted for Republican and some democratic presidents with the same economic positions. They are surprised that their choices did not help improve their lives. the same small-town America that voted for trump is very poor, yet ignore the fact Trump's tax plans is just giving tax cuts to the rich. they don't really care about this, they only care about eating up xenophobia about a random El Salvadorian **potentially** stealing their dead-end jobs. they are more concerned about people with no power than the ones that do.
Little do many realise trump will spend the next term as he did the last, playing golf, getting impeached and ranting in the middle of the night on social media.
Please! The prices of every day things have gone sky high since Biden, ilegals are flooding the boarders. Under Trump cheap petrol and secure boarders. These are things your average voter cares about! But for me its no wars!
Yep as usual people dismiss Trump when he says something meaningful Even his wife spoke well in terms of forgetting the left v right and blue v red. It's time to unify!
Funny you mention that. Judge Cannon dismissed his stolen documents case before it was even heard. Where does that end up? The corrupt Supreme Court who essentially told her to do it last week.
Well Cannon just dropped his stolen documents case and I'm pretty sure that he will use that and the supreme court making him king like and giving him immunity will lead to him trying to get the rest dropped. If he does win he will close all the cases against him anyway.
@@anonitachi6966The point is that the cultists were already voting for him before the assassination attempt, it won't have any bearing on swinging voters given his other transgressions
@@anonitachi6966 Like the one you're in. None of those charges were legitimate and the evidence is readily available if you'd actually read it. Democrats have been suffering from TDS for years.
This won't convince democrats to vote for Trump but what it did do was making sure a lot of republicans who might have stayed home or been on the fence about Trump will vote. People focus to much on converting people while ignoring how crucial turnout numbers are.
Biden speaks for the voiceless. He speaks of not wanting to be self-serving. Analyse his speeches. Biden is about actions and behaviour. Trump is the essence of self-serving. The difference so so stark that it blows my mind that anyone could entertain Trump.
Biden speaks for nobody and literally has helped very little, had has dragged us economically. You have no real reason to vote for him and you'll claim Trump voters are in a cult.
Wow, a person I vehemently disagree with was almost shot... guess I better vote for him as president!?!?!? You brits have an odd way of reasoning things out.
Yeah we have the sense not to vote for a senile Biden, we are strange like that in the UK, we dont vote for a senile man to be in charge of nuclear launch codes because we've been manipulated by the media to hate Trump for no reason.
"we're not voting for the candidate" followed immediately by "Biden has to be the candidate, he's the only one they'll vote for" is so blindingly head in the sand it's ridiculous.
What the caller said is the there are Republican voters who refuse to vote for Trump and will hold their nose and vote for Biden. These people will not vote for another Democratic candidate. The caller is like most Democrats I know who will vote for a stale sandwich over DT.
"Anyone but Tr-mp but it must be B-den." These are the people who will hand the nation to Tr-mp. They will then blame everyone and everything but themselves. (see 2016) (Thank you Censorbot for protecting us from normal speech)
@@gurusmurf5921 That's not an opinion, it's a proven fact considering that is EXACTLY what happened in 2020. No other fictional Dem candidate will beat Trump, not according to polling. But I don't have the time or energy to explain US politics and human behavior to you on a RU-vid chat.
O'Brien talking of Trump "His willingness to dismantle the basic framework of democracy is irrefutable" I hear this a lot but I've yet to be given any evidence, other than he disputed the result of the last election.
I remember when Corbyn was leader and as a Labour voter I did not want either Corbyn or Johnson in No 10, so in '17 I did not vote at all. But the American people do have a very difficult decision, just as we did here back then.
If they are both still with us by the time of the election, anything can happen up to that moment. Can these parties not find a candidate below 70yo? That says a lot about the current state of US politics
Trump was 4/7 to win vs Biden at 7/1 after the debate, and when I’ve tried to check now they won’t offer betting on Trump, just whether or not Biden will be the Democrat candidate… so it looks nailed on him to win to the presidency 😢
Every time I speak to a Trump voter it’s about them, they just don’t care. They make out it’s about the country or borders, but all that is just about them. There is the distinction, other people care. Simple.
1st caller is spot on and look at France and Germany where there is an increasing number of previously centrist voters who would never have voted right and now it's acceptable, 2 different situations but there is a clear shift
As an Englishman now living for six years in the US. I love how English people pontificate about what’s going on in the US most of them that have had a trip to Disney or a weekend in NY including Mr O’Brien by his own admission. Try living here not traveling here and you just might get a better insight and understanding as to why people vote for Trump. Live amongst them yourself talk to them listen to their opinions and arguments. Don’t make the same mistake as Clinton did and classify everyone as the basket of deplorable’s and as the Democrat Party have by demonizing and weaponizing everything against him the foolishness of that is now clearly apparent. Many people here think that the Democrats have used everything they possibly can to to impeach indict prosecute in anyway they can to be rid of Trump and now surprise surprise who do you think people suppose is responsible for the assassination attempt. It’s not rocket science is it James but obviously I bow to your greater intellect You are going to get another four years of Trump I’m afraid and when it happens it’s not because of anybody else but the ignorance and foolishness of the Democrat Party and the MSM they have created their own nightmare. The attempted assassination is just the icing on the cake of their own creation. I personally don’t think he’s fit to be President of the US and if had any voting rights which I don’t he wouldn’t be as Biden wouldn’t be my personal choice.
If course he will. He wasn't willing to go last time and tried to rig the elections so he could remain in place. He now has full presidential immunity. He can do what he likes with the blessing of six idiots on the Supreme Court.
As an American, I'm sincerely hoping not...I think there was an opportunity for him til they squandered it by sticking with their constant talking point lies and with his nomination of Vance...the situation and details surrounding what happened also remain so weird no one knows what to think...if it wasn't for the possibility of more court appointments, I'd be willing to bet a lot more Republicans would vote the other way this time too
The Trump picture is only of interest to people who weren't already disgusted by him. I wouldn't be at all surprised if we find out his media people were yelling at him to sell the moment. That would probably be the only time he's taken their advice, if I'm in the ballpark with my cynical take.
Its a coin toss. There is no guarantee Trump or Biden will win. We will know after the elections. It all depends on the events from now till election day and how both candidates react and use them to their advantage. Additionally, it depends what PA, WI and MI voters choose. Those are the states that will make or break the election.
Campaigns are not and have never been about changing the minds of the people in the middle. It's about getting people who agree with you interested enough to come out and vote
I'm on the same opinion as the lady. Politics is so divided in the states, that few people will change their minds. Trump voters still have only one vote each, and a more passionate vote is equal to a simple one
@@adamfoofighters how is putting forward a presidential candidate to the public who won't be doing the job if elected democratic? People who are unelected will be responsible for presidential decisions and policy surely?
Trump is at max momentum 4 months out, this is a terrible place to be in politics. History is littered with losers that seemed inevitable 4 months out.
1st caller claiming he has friends on all sides and swing voters, cites no conversations with them since.. but "believes" the swing voters would now vote Trump.. at which point James says Oh he's going to win Huge!
