awesome, I used to watch my weather report for downpours and then go mob campus walk sealed bricks on the longboard. Wish I went skim on it too, urban skim and wet longboarding are the best sports to me. A level of danger, that matches the absolute control one must have to rip it. Bad pavement be forgotten, rain is the equalizer. Glad to see such a cool vid w sick spots. Sometimes I'd dive HARD into a puddle and duck the barrel. Standup pindys are good too. Glad to see this style come to life in skim, bc I love to do it on longboard. I will search the spots out when I can. Nothing near me is so cool right now though unless we are legit flooding. I gotta keep my eyes peeled.

Shout out from SE Texas, USA. We skim out here on the coast. There's some Neighborhood spots for your younger years. When you get old enough to drive, you hit the beach. You'd probably NEVER catch this going down in Houston's Downtown! Galveston is a more likely spot! This one bro from matagorda could do a handstand! I was doin an ollie off if a lil ankle-slapper into the ocean. He upped me by doing the handstand.

This is a sport I wanted to create twenty years ago, approximately. Never had the pleasure or indeed the (business) opportunity. So - here! What you need is something that will not kick your ass as much as granite. I suggest a shallow artificial creek shaped like an open "U" and grown over with grass, which need not necessarily be cut. Than you add a nice splash form a collector cistern or a little stream diverted from a nearby real creek and there you are: riding through the landscape.. Even offerd it to RedBull. Asked for details and never got back. The channel must be just the right angle - just steep enough but for the grass to stay nicely inundated - will not ultimately need so much water overall by my guess. Could get pretty fast though I reckon. There. Wet mud won't bruise. Love your riding style. Might need a more directional board for this application.

i wonder what's a good water height for skimboards. I live in Vancouver CA and there are a few nice places that looks good for urban skimboarding, plus it rains a lot here.

Remember to stretch before you skim, I tore my quad on the first drop of the day.
