When a season is actually genuinely fun and crazy and something completely new, rather than just made for competitive, people get so pissed off. Like a video game is made to have fun, none of them that say that make money off of tourneys anyway.

It is super unbalanced. The ideas are good. But the way they implemented is the main issue. For every good weapon/item we must a have a con or - at least - a counter weapon/item to it. Car in this season dont have any con nor counter, except the car itself...so everybody will just play with the cars. This is terrible and simply breaks the game

the way vehicle modding was handled was pretty clever. medallions are cooler than last season's too. hell, the whole season being centered around cars is a concept that epic hasn't done before. just because you don't like the season doesn't make it inherently uncreative. you can call it bad all you want but at least hit the right spots

The low player count initially has nothing to do with cars. It’s more to do with how monotonous the end of last season was. The Avatar event completely killed any momentum it had and I know many people that either stopped playing entirely or have starting playing less after that update.

Great analysis, however i wouden't say that this decisions are hurting the overall quality of the game, i think it's just a very different playstyle from what we had before, but i think it's wrong to say lower quality, beacouse the quality is defenetly there, it's just not that balanced and more focused on fun.

On PC a factor might be that the epic launcher can be pretty horrible when it comes to updates. Both me and my friend had really slow download speeds (1-2 MB/S). It took both of us about 6-8 hours to download the update. If someone were working that day with that download speed they wouldn’t be able to play.

I can’t remember the last time Fortnite failed on a Summer season. I feel your opinions were spot on. The anarchy that has been this season so far won’t last the whole season. We will have counters to vehicles within a week or two.

My issue with the new season is it lacks a variety of ways to play. Sure, water bending was op last season. However you could still compete and win without it. It felt like more of a choice. This season they overtuned the cars to the point that you will really struggle to win and survive without it. They are funneling the players into using only cars which reduces variety of play. I don't know if I want to play twisted metal/ mad max until August. I want to play fortnite. And it's a bummer that they are forcing us to have to use gimmicks to win rather than it simply being an option.

exactly brother - the issue is some people just want to play with the weapons & tools the game is known for. while the cars are awesome, it feels like this added flavor to a drink we already loved. its like it's diluted the purity. the taste is still there but i just dont want to drink it as much with that flavor. hahaha that might have been a terrible analogy. i appreciate your insight!

Is surprising that everyone is obsessed with the first day numbers when last season people wait for 18 hours for the game, they would be all of them idiots if they do it for second time. Most of the people made a normal day and checked if the game was up and playable when they have some free time, instead ask for a free day at job or wake up really early to wait as they did in season 5.2

i find it kinda funny how the same ppl that loved fortnite for always changing and being new now hate it for changing and being new ? like ye the cars can get annoying but at least its new ??? idk this season feels fun and random , i never played this game for lore so am just glad they are not scared to experiment ,plus its gona be hard to top the last season with how many great tools we had but the game being a bit different that what u like isnt the end of the world , i feel like the ppl that complain about this sort of stuff just have it to easy in life and lack real problems to be mad about , all the same the vid is good and i have nothing against it , am just speaking out to all the ppl that cry about cars so much

The game has changed dramatically to the point that we don't even know which weapons are meta, considering that cars are the only essential items of this season. Fortnite can innovate, but not in this way, changing the essence of the game and forcing everyone to use a car to win. Also everything is unbalanced and i've never seen the playerbase so low (simply because this is NOT fortnite. It is something new, but not the game that 75% of us want to play right now). Epic messed up here

C5S1 had a big peak (actually the all-time peak concurrent users) because it was the end of chapter 4 and the OG season (which millions of people loved) and was a whole new chapter, with a whole new map and new guns. There were a lot of big changes. C5S2 had a lot of players on launch day because the community expected something even better than season 1, but it ended up being kinda boring, and people lost hope for C5S3, which resulted in less players on launch day. Just a theory on why season 3 had less players on launch day.

I really love this season thus far cause for first theres no reaper sniper rifle which is a relieve , sure cars are op but not unbeatable giving the situation. I stopped playing last season after the avatar update cause i really dislike the buff to waterbending, I completed the bp and waited for the weekly quests to fully finish it. This season is chaos with the cars , the gloves , explosion and the nitro juice sure theres balance issues but it can be fix. Overall this season 3 of all Season 3's starts really strong and i hope it keeps getting more chaotic and fun. I reqlly love this season

i love this season but i 1000% agreed no car's for me. When i first played all 5 matches i got killed by a car but as time went on i learned how to deal with them and now i know how to not die with them and i agree with you on the fact that a lot of fornite seasons go up and down like some seasons will be good and some seasons will be bad but even if they are bad people always find way's to make it fun.

At the start of the chapter and during OG there were way more build players, but the last two seasons have pushed most of us away (Lightning bolts, chains, cars that invalidate building, etc) so now zero build players are the majority. Once Chapter 2 OG returns later this year builds will explode in popularity again

Honestly you can't expect everyone to want to play on a Friday. I encourage people to go out and have fun. 2.8m is still alot for a old game. Alot of games will never reach that many. The main reason for people not to want to play is because the grinding is fairly intense. Last season they made the game take much longer just to get all the Vbucks. Quests don't quite give you enough. Also Quests usually arnt very long so the game gets boring. I feel like the marvel season will bring people back. But maybe not insanely on the first day. It's actually pretty hard to retain a large amount of people's attention.

@topherleon you'd be surprised when most games come out the numbers are high. Then drop dramatically once the game is beat. The problem with a live service game is you can't ever really keep players interested forever. At some point it will fall off. But I wouldn't really call this the end of fortnite. Most people will actually wait until the end of the season to do the weeklys. I've seen a bunch of RU-vidrs try to reach level 100 in one day near the end of the season. Which could have forced fortnite to make the grind harder. But make the grind more harder for normal players. Which will force people stop playing that don't want to have to rebuy the battle pass since it's harder to get all the vbucks from a season. Since now you have to get to level 140 just to get free vbucks.

You MIGHT be bored of it by august? Dude, it’s not even been out a week and it’s tedious. Land, shield up, jump in a car, upgrade and hope you can keep going until end game. The only mix up is trying to go for a heavily armoured vehicle at the start.. but then everything else repeats.

I got my T60 Fallout Armor- I’m happy/ I play the game for skins 😂- each skin is rare - especially battle pass ones- I got Predator from a battle pass and Deadpool - you can’t buy them in the store- you had to play to get it- you could also sell your account to someone for a lot of $$$ 😂

@topherleon true but that can be for any season, this season is pure chaos we're people can start developing strategies to help them win, but this season is more for teams rather then solo tho so I see solos getting bored. But also hood to remember that they will definitely be updating this season a good bit.
