I love everything about this build aside from that sound from the VR30 engine. I wish Nissan would release a true successor to the RB26 which happens to be a turbocharged straight 6...
From here on out, if I'm ever feeling down, I'm going to watch this video. Words can't describe just how GOOD this set up is! I currently have a G35 Coupe and plan to turbo it soon! Can't wait!
Wow as soon as he gets pressure that is when you stop and really notice all they have done and they need to bring a 3 whatever you want to call it ZX to there line up even if its just an option like hell cat ect ..... great work Larry always get stoked when your videos are up
No he just isn't used to driving it. He mentioned 'its a first for me' when Larry was orgasming off the sound of the BOV's, so homedude prolly has just driven it around the garage and that's all.
@B. Chandler yeah that's why I said "most" I mean like Audi V6 5.2s are like one of THE best engines ever made if not The Engine P.S. considering when they first came out
Larry’s work is absolutely amazing. If I were a manufacturer, I would sell a testicle to get Larry to shoot my product. So few cars are selling right now that no manufacturer is really all that concerned with security of design. Being open and luring customers into their development strategies is a great idea. I drive a Nissan daily, and my weekend car is a 944. I suspect my next one will be a 370Z...I honestly want that suspension setup for my Porsche really bad right now.
I recently purchased an ultra-low mile '07 Infiniti G35S Sedan, with manual 6-spd. transmission, and the 3.5VQ hr motor. I'd love to get the chassis tied down nice 'n tight, and wake the already powerful-for-it's-time engine up. Highly underrated car with lots of potential.
AWESOME CAR AND SHOTS!! BUT, you know messed up the editing when I have to rewind the guy talking to hear what engine is in the car. They don't state they swapped out VQ, well they don't make it very clear IMO. Its almost like they had someone new edit this one... I could be wrong it may not have been an editing issue and the Nissan guy just didn't say it up front. IM DROOLING!! I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE SAID THE TOTAL RETAIL COST OF THIS SWAP!!! We all know NISMO stuff is NOT CHEAP!!! More like hella expensive! Nissan won't ever do this, but they totally should!! Why would u buy a GTR tho if they offered a Z with this spec???
I think tuners just pick something to see if it's possible. Current VQ37 with a Fast Intentions TT easily makes 480hp for +/- 12K. Nissan has got to find a way to it's next iteration and more power, so why not a VR30 TT since it's already proven in the Q60? It will be interesting to see how they answer to the Supra? NO collaborations please!
Tommy Sandoval they look nothing a like you don’t understand card. The heart of the 300zx is no where near comparable to any new car. You’re also a month bub
Why would you want a newer small turbo motor in the next gen Z. Possiblities with 370Z VQ's are better including the Titan 5.6 V8 drop in and not fabricating shit up. No one wants a 2.0 turbo, do you?
Apparently Mr. K died 2015ish and Nissan might lose that Z heritage for sport car as it halted. They Z might become a sport crossover next gen with the next designer, sad. Like the mitsu eclipse. If you do buy a 370z get it in white and base model add your own lsd wavetrack or any kaaz 2 way. The nismo has nothing good but feels for 20 grand more. Unless you like it stock the nismo Z aero looks terrible.
evan hasner i think he probably meant to say from the turbos all the way back, you know since turbos run off the exhaust but then shin i wouldn’t doubt it
evan hasner i think he probably meant to say from the turbos all the way back, you know since turbos run off the exhaust but then again i wouldn’t doubt it
its the delay of the electronic throttle body. he would have let off the gas before letting the clutch off but the tune of the computer wont be set to respond that quickly. being that the engine was only ever offered in automatic it would still be running the same tune i would say.
Very nice I think Nissan should have included the orange paint in the colour lineup. Friends of mine owned a original paint 1971 Datsun 240Z, in Sunkist Orange and the colour really does the car Justice
Is that why they're referring to it as the new 300ZX? I almost thought they would have swapped the VR38DETT from the GT-R instead, but I guess that might have been a bit too much with a car with such a short wheelbase...
Dang Forsberg’s former team engineers was good choice to build this car especially there known for Z platforms and many more. and a 2 time championship team, cant really argue there time and effort build this beauty. Larry should have a ver 2.0 Ole Orange base on that Z34 chassis.
What feel? Modified cars don't feel anything like stock anyways. Either the chassis is tuned for balance at limit(fast lap) or give(fun). The VQ is best motor from Japan. And the Z34 is the most fun Z.
