The problem with this matchup is that Kars evolves within the realm of biology, Mahoraga evolves beyond the realm of conceptuality.

Kars' backstory definitely deserves to be fully told in a spin-off manga/novel. It would be fascinating to see how he convinced Esidisi to join him in his search for immortality and the relationships he developed with Wamuu and Santana

I love the fact Kars recovered part of his massive importance in the Lore in the "Crazy Diamond Heartbreakers" manga, with the main villain being a fan/succesor of the fabulous pillar man. Considering that he was literaly the main responsible for the first six JoJo parts, I think his legacy deserves much more recognition, considering that the story is constantly just focusing on DIO's consequences

In terms of who has the better adaptability, there's arguments for both; Kars is limited to the realm of biology, but can consciously adapt and control how he adapts INSTANTLY. Whereas, Mahoraga can't adapt instantly, being needed to be exposed to a phenomena to adapt. However, Mahoraga has the superior adaptive potential, being able to adapt to ANYTHING conceptually; he adapted to the limitless, which is infinitely dividing space, the infinite void, and slashes that could slice through space and dice anything into dust.

In the Manga, Mahoraga can also adapt offensively, creating new abilities, even bypassing the strongest hax of the series in a VERY short period of time. Mahoraga vs Kars would probably go something along the lines of: Mahoraga hits Kars once, Kars hits him back. Mahoraga is resistant to Hamon, Kars probably increases his durability with some armor and heals himself. Wheel spins, next attack from Mahoraga can't be healed and just starts to delete Kars. And if you think I'm exaggerating, Mahoraga took 4 wheel spins to develop an ability that cuts reality itself. Kars is limited to DNA on Earth. It won't take more than 1 or 2 spins for Mahoraga to create a technique to just erase biological DNA.

*Fun fact:* Kars is remembered by Old Joseph in the novel "Genesis of the Universe", when the crusaders face a Stand User who is literally a thousand years old. I honestly wished part 3 and 4 would have explored Joseph's thoughts about all the sh*t he went through in his youth, with the second JoJo not wanting Jotaro and Josuke to suffer the same as him in the 30's

im pretty sure mahoraga is able to adapt to speed since in the battle with gojo, he was completely outmatched at the start, but during the end of the fight he was able to keep up and defend sukuna

Kars honestly could just learn how to use cursed energy and techniques on the spot. i know its not canon but the way Kars capabilities are shown in the Jorge Joestar novel where he simply just copies and improves the stands he sees and likes is probably pretty accurate on what he could canonically do

Mahoraga can adapt to speed. It’s not shown well in the anime, but when he’s battle Sukuna in shibuya and gojo after the Cullen games. He adapts to their speed and starts speeding up himself. Also after he gets hit with a few different animal attacks, he’s mostly likely adapt to living tissue in general and develop some kind of disintegration blade. Like how mahoraga got hit with 1 type of slashing attack enough that he just adapted to slashes all together. So when the new slash attack came out, it didn’t matter

If Kars' Hamon is strong enough to one shot Mahoraga, then he could just save that for the end while having Mahoraga adapt to his other abilities. Basically the same strategy as Sukuna.

If Hamon can hurt Mahoraga, he would adapt to that can basically become immune to it, he can also adapt to the defensive abilities his opponents, so he should win off that alone.

I can understand if we're only basing off of anime mahoraga but kars here is based on guide books, anime, and manga all together so it's only fair to have mahoraga be based on the same. In the manga, mahoraga's adaptation isn't only limited to defense but also offense. So yes he's able to keep up with sukuna and gojo in terms of speed, able to adapt defense to be immune to sukuna's cleave and gojo's infinite void, and able to adapt his attacks to be able to cut through infinity. It's far more likely that mahoraga will adapt faster than kars can deal a lethal blow, at base, mahoraga has higher than most special grade durability which i highly doubt an intense sunray is gonna vaporize him that quickly. The part where i do agree tho is in battle IQ, kars might just outsmart him since mahoraga is basically braindead in most cases outside of his adaptation

Just realized something, Kars can pull a Geto and make his brain function like a sorcerer's brain, and instantly master Cursed Energy with his 400 iq and instant adaptation. He is also quick enough to do something like that, being the speed of light and all. The real question is this: Can Kars instantly master any cursed technique if this works? If so, Maho is cooked. If not, then it's a 50/50 Edit: If he used every single type of venom, then Mahoraga might not be able to adapt to all of the effects of them, like feeling suicidal, sensing doom, rotting away, getting melted, getting your body and nervous system shut down, and that's just one type of Venom, m that can do that to you, let alone the hundreds of Venom like the stone fish which has hundreds of different poisons mixed together. That might give Kars enough time to win. This is also hoping Kars isn't in character and is bloodlusted.

Here's a thought for you: Could Kars alter himself to be able to use Cursed Energy? I'm pretty sure CE is biological in origin, but USED as a spiritual expression, which is how non-sorcerers can now use CE in the Culling Games, because they were physically altered somehow. i think its gotta be kars who wins, since this fight is just ultimately decided by who lands their hit first. and since kars has instant adaption and mahoraga doesn't, if kars can cook up some diabolical oneshot move using his massive iq he can obliterate mahoraga before he can adapt. even if he couldnt be able to oneshot mahoraga, kars will be far more cunning and strategic than mahoraga due to having a higher intelligence, using his massive array of abilities to constantly keep mahoraga on edge. from what we know mahoraga cannot copy techniques, but rather counter them, such as how he became immune to slashing attacks during his fight with sukuna and how he could bypass infinity in sukuna vs gojo. essentially mahoraga's offensive capabilities and his intelligence are pretty limited, while kars has the intelligence and the array of abilities which just puts him on a bigger advantage over mahoraga. im more of a bigger jojo fan than jjk so this may be biased, and do correct me if im wrong on any information

I see a lot of people focus on the fact that Big Raga’s adaptation is conceptual, Kars’ is biological. What they forget is that the biological adaptation extends to biological processes that produce supernatural effects, i.e., hamon, stands, and, yes, even cursed energy and techniques. Not only that, but Kars can adapt instantly, while Mahoraga takes time to adapt completely. Kars, were he introduced to the JJK universe, could theoretically copy any cursed technique that is, was, or ever will be after only seeing once, and would be able to apply it better than original owners of said techniques. Hell, he could probably create his own version of the 10 shadows technique to fight Mahoraga. Kars is a cheat code against any opponent that originates on planet Earth.

Alot people are talking about hamon and stuff and adapt. But everyone is clearly forgetting the speed gap. Mahoraga was at max hypersonic (Only able to keep up with Sukuna and Gojo) . Kars base form was already faster than Joseph(In manga Joseph reacted to Aja beam which if im correct 2x speed of light). Kars also reacted to UV beam and reflexes which is obviously light speed Kars blade is literally just Sukuna Cleave but faster. Mahoraga's adaptation doesn't mean much when Kars has nigh-limitless options of evolution. He figures out quickly that he needs to kill him in one attack and he melts him with Hammon. Or he can simply absorb him early and be done with it. If Santana, the weakest of the pillar men can absorb living beings with a simple touch, Kars should be much faster

I feel like this is such a fair fight that for both fighters they SHOULD be challenged and relatively evenly matched. Though I think I Kars should also be a direct counter to Mahoraga since when you fight it, if you're a 1 trick pony, you're pretty screwed, but if you have multiple tricks, your odds of winning are higher, the degree however depends on your skill, strength, and intelligence, all of which Kars should have.

I don't see a way for kars to one shot mahoraga aside from possibly hamon and i could totally see mahoraga developing an ability to kill kars. If you include the spin off where kars have access to stands he could easily defeat mahoraga but that's not really cannon. If you do verse equalization where kars and mahoraga can possibly access the other verse's power system kars might absolutely destroy using curse energy and techniques since he mastered hamon instantly. So maho wins 9/10 when you only consider cannonical feats but kars have the potential to destroy if verse equalization and novel feats are considered.

I really really want to see a video by someone like you trying to break down which verse would be one of the best match ups for the majority of JJK. Because a lot of the videos I see (including this one) are JJK top tiers being put up against people who out stat them to the point it’s not even funny, and thus the only conversation to be had is about whether their hax can win it. But just once I want I see some examples of JJK fighters (especially the mid to upper mid types like Todo, Geta, maybe even someone like Hakari) vs …….whoever you think would be like a really close battle. Honestly the only thing I'd give Kars is maybe speed, though I don't have exact scalling of speed for either of them and maybe strength if his strength gradually adapts.

one thing I'd like to note is the existence of tardigrades and flathead worms (i think thats what they're called). Tardigrades can survive so much bullshit, like the void of space, absolute zero, over 140 degrees celsius, and more. Then there's the worms, which are made basically out of STEM cells. This means that if you cut it in half, the pieces don't rejoin, you have two worms. If you slice and dice it, you can end up with thousands of worms. By extension, Kars would have these abilities: temperature resistance, self-sustenance, regeneration, and even duplication if a piece of him were to get seperated from another piece.

I feel like if Kars were to win, he'd have to use everything at his disposal to completely obliterate mahoraga in the first hit. Otherwise, if that attack is a dud, Mahoraga would definitely adapt to it. If Kars spends too much time playing with Mahoraga, in the long run, the battle would probably turn over to Mahoraga's favour. Basically, If Kars obliterates Mahoraga in the first hit (which I'm very certain he can, it's just his ego that makes it seem unlikely that he'd take Mahoraga that seriously), he wins. Mahoraga could likely adapt to damage Kars. Against Sukuna , it changed it's "damage type" from positive energy to cursed energy And became able to see Sukuna's normally invisible slashes. Well Why wouldn't it adapt the ability to generate radiation ? To destroy Kars' cells and make these cells unable to reproduce , stopping in ability to regenerate AND shapeshift Meanwhile Kars is heavily limited by organisms from Earth

Now, while I agree with you on that Mahoraga looses to Ultimate Kars, its not that easy for Kars as you say. Basically, from what we have seen in both the manga and anime, Mahoraga can adapt to any phenomenon that seems to affect him or his actions. From the Manga, Mahoraga couldn't touch Gojo due to his infinity, so he adapted this to counter and cut through Infinity. Against Gojo's Blue, not only did he adapt to basically take almost no damqge drom it, but he mqde himself immune to its pulling effects to counter Blue. When he was hit with Sukuna's Dismantle, he adapted to be able to see the invisible slashes and react to them, but to also deflect them (when he could) and heal from the damage. Another point for Mahoraga is that, he adapts to the source of phenomenon, example being when he adapted to Dismantle, he didn't just adapt to that attack, but also adapted to slashing attack in general, which is why he was able to survive Malevolent Shrine. This gives Mahoraga the advantage against Kars, as it would limit his arsenal by a LOT. Though, there's another weqkness to Mahoraga's adaptation. How many times it takes to spin the wheel? Generally, we learn that it can depend on the attack on how long it will take Sukuna to adapt to something + we have no idea how much time it takes the wheel to spin. Such as Gojo's Blue, it took like 4 spins of the wheel, but it took more spins when trying to adapt to Unlimited Void, due to how complicated in nature it is. So, depending on how complicated the phenomenon in question is, that's how much long it will take Mahoraga to adapt. Which, while could make things worse for Kars, it does make things also easer for him, as Kars will just have to create moves that are very much complicated in concept so he would have more time to use. Not to mention, Kars is too smart and his adaptation is potentially faster than Mahoraga, which means that he would recognize most of what I stated and plan around it, find a way to beat Mahoraga. Kars does win in the end, but its not as easy as some people would think, as Mahoraga's adaptation is way more versitile then at first glance.

People keep saying Mahoraga will adapt to Hamon, but what I'm curious about is if Kars could actually replicate/gain CT as well as RCT? If Jujutsu is something that only some humans can posses (not a select few, just a good "handful" of those with mastery over their CT to actually use it), theoretically Kars should be able to adapt his own CT like he did Hamon - which opens the door to a wild kaleidoscope of possibilities to what Kars could have But that's a theoretical, and would require him to witness CT/RCT being used before him (?) in order to replicate

Here's the thing Mahoraga might be able to adapt to energies and imaginary objects, but Kars never used hamon, saw it used in ultimate form ONCE, and had an understanding and manipulation of it 100x more powerful than Joseph Joestar, so if he sees cursed energy he'll have it and probably immediately have a domain expansion etc, I think if you give Kars this, his AP is enough to get around Mahoraga's adaptation speed in one hit, otherwise make Hamon skill Cursed Energy skill and perhaps he could beat Mahoraga as Fuga isn't nearly as powerful as the sun, more like just a city level bomb, so the Hamon couuuuuld work if Kars had enough to understand to Oneshot Mahoraga, otherwise Mahoraga wins....

How exsectly is a character who is claimed to be light speed low in ap. You know, the biggest problem with Mahoraga against Makima is the fact I love Mahoraga, so I'd defend him too much. But I also love Kars, so with equal speed, yeah, it's mostly even. However, Kars could probably tip the balance by just beating Mahroaga up, realising quickly how he adapts and brings out something new to beat him up. And if Mahoraga actually works like a cursed spirit and can't be killed without cursed energy, Kars just learns cursed energy. Simple as that, and this is because everyone has cursed energy. It just activates before they die or whatever, so Kars figures out how to activate it, makes his own cursed technique, and destroys him. And even without, I feel like he could just kill him with cursed energy and his blades because heres what I think about how Mahoraga adapts. The air around him does nothing. He adapts and can now shoot out airblasts. Its headcanon but it's a bloody cool headcanon. However, it took probably hundreds of slashes for Mahoraga to fully adapt, so I feel like the attack has to not be too lethal and not sheed through too much of his skin to adapt easier, and yes this is all headcanon it doesnt work like this but I dunno I am just ranting and anymore words would start flooding out of my phone.

The problem that many comments say is that they try to say "kars can destroy the earth, Its hamon is the same as the surface of the sun" and I don't know what else. But the way this versus should be approached in my opinion is that we take them both in their best version and face them without preparation. Because what they say that Kars could kill him with one hit would only be if Kars knew Mahoraga's ability And in the case of fighting without preparation, my mahoraga has the most chance to win.

kars does not evolve or adapt, rather he can mimick the genetic traits of organisms and use them, there is a chance that if kars was in the jjk universe to fight mahoraga he would just copy the abilities of the sorcerers to win kinda like what he did with hamon.

Either Kars deletes Mahoraga at the start, or Mahoraga slowly adapts to Kars’ nature completely. Mahoraga can adapt to any phenomena, after a minute or so of getting beat up, he would start seeing and fighting back against stands (for example). One-shot it or it continues adapting to literally anything you throw at it, as the adaptation is essentially unbound by logic

At the moment that mahoraga adapts to kars's speed, Kars is gone

I would say it's a case of the strongest shield vs the strongest shield. Both shouldn't be able to deal a fatal blow to their opponent. Now as someone else said, Mahoraga adaption and evolution is to the extent of the abstract, which defies conventional logic. Mahoraga should theoretically be able to adapt to The Wonder of U's calamity laws; But all that is none of our concern as Mahoraga only adapts to damage taken, or external stimuli. Leaving the Big Maho with the positive blade. Which shouldn't be fatal to Kars, as the ultimate lifeform that can use yang energy(hamon). Now I'm over-generalizing powers into Yin and Yang attributes from reading too many webnovels, and the fact that this is a cross-genre comparision. So Cursed Energy and Vampires = Yin attribute. Reversed Cursed Technique, Positive energy, and Hamon = Yang attribute. Although in JJK, Positive energy attacks or positive energy blade(The one Mahoraga wields) is said to be extremely effective against Cursed spirits, it wouldn't deal fatal damage to both Mahoraga(as he can simply adapt against it) and Kars(Since evolution into the Ultimate lifeform took away his weakness to Yang attribute). Kars vs Mahoraga fight would probably be one that'd last for few years, and would only end because either Kars got too mentally tired of fighting, or Mahoraga goes back to the shadow realm.

So Kars gets hit once with the genetics based cursed energy, he instantly understands it and makes it 100x stronger than any cursed energy technique. Kars would straight up just get Mahoraga as a Stand, and continue to improve on it.

I think Kars would adapt durability to survive a sword slash, and that would prompt mahoraga to adapt world-cutting to make durability a non-factor. Being bissected is definitely not enough to take down Kars, but that should give Mahoraga the capacity to adapt enough strength and speed to atomize Kars. Kars might be able to adapt some kind of ultimate form of hamon to nuke Mahoraga, but if he tries any hamon before that and mahoraga adapts to hamon then he loses his only viable option.

If Kars vaporizes mahoraga with his hamon in a big laster (like Sakuna did) he wins. Otherwise idk if he can. Kars is absurdly smart so it’s possible.
