Brilliant Cap as always...gutted to hear we might not hear more from GR at some future point 😢 - you've given hundreds of thousands of people great entertainment over the years and truly hope you'll keep going! Maybe promote your Patreon more often or simply include a PayPal link?
Thanks! Get a better processor. Play around with stealth/4th gen data sharing integration. Come on everyone! Just a dollar or a two. Lets get him an upgraded PC!
Found you because of the “Modern Carrier protects Pearl Harbor “ battles and here we are cheering on America protecting Japan. Funny old world. Thanks Cap!
There is a few issues here. The first one is tactical. This situation is totally unrealistic. No general would fight like this, on neither side. Just running out and defending the ocean makes no sense, The next issue is that the plane model is largely based on guesses. While they are guesses by very well informed people, its still guesses. In reality nobody knows how large diffrance there is in radar and EW. Apart from that DCS don´t differentiate between block 1-3 F35 and block 4 F35. The block 4 once are really quite a lot better. For example the engine is considerably more heat resistant. The main reason for this is to decrease maintenance. But a side effect is that top speed increases quite a lot and also fuel efficiency. The way DCS handle link also really don´t work the same way it does in modern aircraft. Nothing of this is really DCS fault. The game is not made to simulate modern aircraft. And really even if it would, it could not do that. The planes need to be old so we got reliable data.
I think you massively underestimated the effect of the different missile settings. I'd love to see the previously Japanese-only video redone with proper settings on each side. Faster J-20 takedowns by the F-35s means the F-35s could have potentially survived until reinforcements arrived and they wouldn't have gotten surrounded. Also, I can't wait to see this recreated in Sea Power with proper ECM modeled.
CVN 73 USS George Washington is enroute to Japan as we speak to be the new foward deployed Carrier with a squad of F 35Cs on board.....Funny how after the Regan left, then the Chinese.. started war games around Tawian....great job Cap!..👉🏻👉🏻
24:24 you can see one of the missiles that got through actually "hit" the water (or missed by hitting water, not target)... so technically only 3 got through.
And now you know why folks( not me ) gave the last vid thumbs down. Not because of the outcome but because of you not using U.S. assets. No U.S. assets was unrealistic (never mind that that was the scenario you were given) so complaining ensued. Great vid thanks for the updated scenario.
Cap was given that scenario because that is what he asked for. If you recall the scenario of North vs South Korea, we tested that one with just the North vs the South and US assets were not used. Cap said on that one they would redo it if the South Koreans weren't able to handle it on their own. In this one, Cap wanted to test it without American support and he asked for a scenario that could possibly pull American forces away from Japan. So I gave him what he asked for. It was the most realistic scenario that I could think of to get American involvement out of the scenario. After how the last one went, he asked me to put in the American assets, which is what we did. Keep in mind these are what if scenarios. Just to envision what might happen.
It doesn't make sense any J-7 or JH-7s in an air war. The J-7s are retired already or turned into unmanned drones. The JH-7 are only armed with short ranged AAM and only used for anti-shipping. They should really be replaced with J-10Cs which have replaced the J-7s and would actually be used in their place in a scenario like this.
Random question ? can't you just despawn the fighter Jets once they have run out of missile's. Just like you do to the Bombers after they have fired the ballistic missile's. That would save your PC from overstressing so badly, with these huge epic battles you have.
@@johnwolf2829 🤔 yeah didn't think about that. but I have never played dcs, I would love to. So not sure if that would erase there kills. Do you play dcs?
Will investigate but they way DCS works may simply be too much work as each planes would have to be programmed separately like this. Would take days...
@@grimreapers Oh wow, this is so cool, I can't believe you replied to my message. I watch your videos all the time. Thx for making such awesome videos, for us to enjoy. You should be getting millions of views for your videos, they are really good. Anyway lol I am rumbling on now. Oh ok, I see, well I am not very knowledgeable on dcs. but if it's too complicated to program in, then I guess it's not worth it.
This is entertainment (and science) You are allowed to be human. You are even allowed to be a little less than "average human" under the circumstances. I am just happy to see each new video. You and your family remain in my prayers.
The winner is whoever can recover materially to keep fighting. Without massive sabotage of chinese manufacturing it would seem they have a material advantage
I think a bigger issue would be having trained, especially combat-experienced pilots. China could pump out a lot of aircraft, but how many work as advertised (cheap/broken/overrated), how many hours flight time do the pilots have, etc. The U.S. military I think would have a massive advantage in chain of command, combat experience, supply, logistics, etc. China would be able to mount a modest first wave, but once the bulk of their combat-ready air force and navy is wasted, they'll start throwing untrained soldiers into battle. Where the U S. would be up against the wall is more in terms of willpower. The American people didn't have the stomach for Iraq and Afghanistan, which had only roughly 5k casualties in 20 years. A full-scale war vs China could easily have 5k casualties a month or a week. The US lost 14k troops on Okinawa in 2-3 months. Losing a Ford carrier or losing 40 F-35s would be a massive hit to the U.S. morale. Would Americans be okay with continuing a war with China over an island 7,000 miles away? China on the other hand could lose 2 million soldiers or 10 million civilians and won't bat an eye. China lost roughly 10 million people in their civil war and 20 million people in their war against Japan, then not even a decade later fought in Korea and lost near half a million more. They didn't quit. So the U.S. crushing China in one battle or twenty battles won't really determine the result. Would the American people be willing to lose 400k troops to launch a ground invasion of China? Would they support a war even if we lose a couple aircraft carriers? Would we immediately put 250k troops on Taiwan to defend them, or would we hope one or two aircraft carrier battle groups in the area would deter China? If we try to defend China like we have Ukraine, I think China wins. The U.S. would need to go into wartime economy, put 200k troops on Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines, would need to start pumping out more Ford carriers about every 1-2 years.
@@shaunholt Except we wouldn't have to do any of that. America's military is built to end things quickly. Strike hard, fast, and diminish the enemy's ability to keep contesting in any meaningful way. Once China's entire Airforce and Navy is zero'd in the first few battles, we would move on to the Chinese mainland and start zero'ing their factories and shipyards with B-2s and B-21s + F-35s with Stealth Drones. China would not be able to manufacture new planes and warships in time to keep things going, and once the U.S. establishes control of an area, it is IMPOSSIBLE to push them out, even if China is allowed to keep building things which they wouldn't. We would completely diminish industrial capacity as well as blockade their shipping routes and deny them the ability to get new materials and electronics for construction. The war would be over swiftly. An indisputable American Victory. People think this war would be close, it would not be..
Probably still in testing phases.....there has been no pics I have seen of LIVE AIM 174Bs yet......the ones on the Hornets were just testing how far the missile flies....speed.....distance, havent heard of any deployed ones yet.
@@grimreapers The importance of one doesn't diminish the importance of the other. If you need something to do your job, it's a valid use of the platform, The buy me a coffee one particularly. Glad you got some help with the Cancer mate and hope you're on the mend.
So the US needs Japan to help defend Okinowa, and Japan needs American help to defend..... Japan. Alliances exist for a reason. I'll be China wishes it has some. :D ERROR; you keep placing your Navy as part of the target area! You need to deploy them in a V-shape to either side of the enemy approach vector. This forces the attacker to choose between targeting them or the land targets (and so allowing the ships to snipe away). Give it a try someday, you'll see.
The only factor that could possibly be added in would be ballistic missiles fired from mainland China. However even that would have some detection of happening before the attack. The ETC would be the most realistic as the aircraft are already close at hand and can be armed and readied under cover of their hangars in a relatively short amount of time. The weapons can even be prepositioned at the bases months before without anyone knowing an attack is coming. Adding a large fleet deployment by China would also not be seen as a surprise. A large fleet deployment would be spotted rather quickly and would ruin the element of surprise. They wouldn't be able to launch a Pearl Harbor style attack with surprise today. Especially with how far China would have to sail to get in range to attack.
The previous scenario took the US out... Both from Japan and Korea. You put the US from Japan back in this scenario but forgot about those from Korea... They're only about 400kms away so.... Merica!
Rules for watching grim reapers videos. #1, cap works hard so all the thumbs up. #2, we all watch the briefing #3 dislikes in the comments😂 #4, now that the video has worked properly and ended properly, the next is REVENGEEEEEEEE😂😂😂😂😂
My boyfriend suggested we try tantric yoga to improve our intimacy. We ended up in a pretzel-like position, wondering how yoga became so synonymous with contortionism💋
