Well they should be, that's what they are being paid for! If they ARE working for people, other than the UK general public, they are effectively moonlighting and should be sacked immediately. Maybe public school and 'Oxbridge' aren't the best places to train for management of the real world?

Over the last 20 years our civil liberties & freedoms have been slowly stripped away.Society has been purposely dumbed down & softened.We have become a nation obsessed with ourselves,social media,mobile phones & materialism creating this strange juxtaposition where we can no longer separate what is real & what is not.The last 15/17 months would never of happened in the 70,80’s or 90’s. It is terrifying to see the weak,subservient country we have turned into.Throwing away rights & freedoms our grandparents & their grandparents died for without even a whimper is truly heartbreaking.
Unfortunately the young are the ones who do everything on their phones- order food, pay for everything and don't see the problem of a pass you can scan and go.
The Digital ID/Passport has been the intended destination from the beginning IMO. It paves the way for tracking, controlling, monitoring, taxing for Health/Climate issues and anything else they want ... forever more!
