Countryside every time, remember having a group of city scout's camping near us complaining about the bleating lambs and bird song. We are lucky to live in the countryside.

Wyoming, where I live, is mainly rural. For a few years I lived in a small farm more than an hours drive to town. During that drive, if you saw more than three cars, we remarked on the heavy traffic. One of the things that is brought home to you by experience and talking to farm wives is that the only way to keep mice out the silverware drawer is to get at least one cat. Preferably a barn cat from a farmer as they are the best mousers. Chickens are good mousers but they would have to live indoors with you. I really would not recommend that. I love where you live. Thank you for sharing, especially now. Best of luck.

We used to have a cat but he would bring in live mice and release them into the house. We think he thought we liked them. Sadly he is no longer with us but he got us quite accustomed to living with mice.

Oddly enough my Highland glen has community fibre and I'm sitting on ~1Gb internet down and up. That would be under a minute for your upload! But we did have to dig in a dozen miles or more of fibre ourselves! Agree darkness is quite the thing, but you forgot to mention how bright moonlight can be.

Well I am green with envy. We could only dream of such speed. You are right we did forget about the moon. Perhaps we will get a shot of it the next time it's full and show just how much you can see by its light. I often wonder around the house at night using only its light to see.

@@IanandJo It really makes you appreciate why moonlight was so important historically - harvest moons, the lunar society etc. Modern urban society has completely forgotten that, but when your eyes adjust you can wander around outside under a full moon almost as clearly as daylight.

I dont think I would want to live anywhere other than wirral. I have litterally everything from major city to countryside, coast line and wales all within a half hour drive.

Are you interested in botany? I'd like to know what plants you see. If not, not!

Interested, yes- knowledgable- not in the slightest 😁 I have been told what several plants are, but I never remember what they are called. - Jo
