Hi all, Thanks for all your great comments. I started as a young lad working with my dad and he’s thrilled with the positive comments as well, which means a lot to me. I had a fantastic few days filming with Roger. It’s a bit out of my comfort zone but he soon put me at ease. Good banter along the way. Glad you are enjoying the film. 👍🔨🔨 Thanks again to Roger. 😉

Hi Daniel, Do you rate the trend adjustable rollers? I'd never seen them before but they could be ideal for my needs, I use 3 different chop saws depending on the type of job I'm on so a quickly adjustable support system would be a game changer.
@Ultimate-roofing-square.

Great tool mate I've always found the same with lifting heavy wet rafters I normally make a ply template and rod if needed. I'd definitely buy it as it looks the part aswell. At least the old boys generally had 3 x 2 rafters to lug around. Although no fall arrest systems.

That scarf joint has been in use for hundreds of years and used to be taught to every carpentry apprentice but, to be honest, most of them never use it. The trussed roof has taken over on many sites.

I am happy to say my new Roofing square has arrived an in watching the demo I can see without using it that it will save so much time when cutting a roof In, now I'm waiting for the Long Ally Bevel to be available I like that bit of kit too.

@skillbuilder and @daniel cox this is hands down the best traditional roofing tutorial/explanation video on RU-vid. None of the others even come anywhere close,also Daniel I think that your roofing square is excellent and the pitch&multiplication chart just tops off a great product. I don't really need one for myself but I shall be ordering one for my apprentice and teach him how to construct traditional roofs with it. Your top guys-from a fellow carpenter.

What a cracking invention, no need to flip the square when marking plumb and seat cuts as you do for the Stanley quick square (looks a lot sturdier too) and the depth for the birdsmouth is set too. Clearly explains what he's doing throughout the video, in my opinion one of the best I have seen on roofing and that's from someone who is doing this type of work on a weekly basis. Great job👍

Ed Thompson thanks. Roger helped me loads while filming, as I’m not used to camera work.

That's what I love about carpentry. Whether you an apprentice or an experienced chippie, you never stop learning.

Very true. Usually the chippy ends up getting over other trades problems so most days it’s a learning curve. Thanks

Thanks daniel. I'm just getting into carpentry after 25 years as a plumber believe it or not. \i work for a local builder and enjoy doing a bit of everything now. Cutting rafters still makes my brain hurt but I love a challenge. i will be buying one of your squares next pay day. Cheers mate and thanks for the video.
