Hellraiser Judgment Director Gary J Tunnicliffe will reunite with Pinhead actor Paul T. Taylor for Coulrophobia - The Mother of all Scary Clown movies!
Describing the movie, Gary says “Our basic intention is to do for Clowns what Jaws did for sharks, this won't be a campy, fun, comedy horror film, think about the craziest/weird moments of Hellraiser Judgment, times that by a thousand, throw it into a blender with the original Evil Dead and you've got Coulrophobia"
On casting Paul T. Taylor and the overall Hellraiser influence, Gary says “I'd be a liar if I said I hadn't allowed (my tenure with) HELLRAISER to infuse the horrific characters and certain elements of this film, more than a few times you could take what is in the script and replace the Clowns with the Cenobites (even more so 'The Stygian Inquisition' from Hellraiser Judgment) and it would feel right at home... so when it came to casting the lead protagonist it was an easy choice with Paul, but this character won't be the eloquent, regal character of the Hell Priest, this is a visceral, sadistic. killer who delights in his actions and the fear he instills”.
He also had some choice words for real life clowns who might worry how a movie like Coulrophobia might affect their future prospects within the field of clowning.
Delco-Cut Productions and Nine Ten films (Sick for Toys, Road Head) Jon Paul Burkhart, David Gunning and Larissa Garcia-Barb (coming of their Atlanta Horror Film Festival win) are producing from a story by Burkhart written by Burkhart, Garcia-Baab and Tunnicliffe.
Tunnicliffe (along with his long time FX comparde Mike Regan) will also design and supervise all the special make up characters, kills, effects and key props.
