within the last two years both Ruby and scrim have gone to rehab treatments and have gotten sober. i’m not sure if someone has ever explained the reasoning behind of their name but, they made a pact when they started creating music together that if they were unsuccessful then they would unalive themselves. that’s why at the end of every single one of their concerts they thank the crowd because as much as so many fans wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them it’s the same for Ruby and Scrim.

The song the number you have dialed is the first song in their 6 year career is the first time they've motivated you instead. So its kinda a big deal when you think about it. Also on the family part, its best to keep the hatchet buried but just know a lot of family drama happened in 2018.

I think the, "keep on marching on" is a shout out to their fans, cause I remember them saying that they realized they were the reason that some people hadn't committed suicide.

I feel like a lot of people try and put them in a box of just simply dark violent drug music, and while they do have a lot of songs focusing on those darker themes, it is all imagery a lot of people can relate to, especially those who have struggled with similar things they talk about in their music often. I've been suicidal since i was a young kid and im 25 years old now. music like Suicideboys actually got me through some shit. Its funny and sad that that artist like Suicideboys, Bones, Ghostemane had helped me through extremely dark times.

Also just to catch you up cause I’m a big fan of them they are cousins from New Orleans who over a dispute between there moms at a young age weren’t allowed to be around each other for a little while as they got older it died down, they are both from lower income areas in New Orleans and scrim is from an area called the 7th ward which is a reference often in there music they made the name G59* (grey 59) after there area also because there was two separate areas in there city whose color was grey with the grey meaning neutral and the 59 is named after the street that divides the area being highway 59. Scrim and ruby have gone through everything from drug problems to mental health issues, scrim was a dj and ruby was in a band but he always kinda wanted to try rap . Scrim had wanted to start making rap music and ruby decided to give it a try after realizing they had talent they decided to form the group suicide boys ( name comes from a pact they made that if they weren’t successful by the age 30 they would off themselves) they had a rough start but grew in popularity after expressing there sadness and issues through there music . A rapper named pouya found there music and they made a song together (south side suicide) which instantly started giving them more notoriety and they have grown ever since and scrim is now sober and ruby has been getting help from scrim to circum his own problems. You can find out about all of this from there multiple interviews. Anyway loving this channel so far and I can see it going places so best of luck to you :)

Weird fact, they are actually related (I think they are cousins) and they grew up in the slums of New Orleans and they eventually become a duo music group and they made a promise to each other that if they didn't make it with their music that they would both commit suicide because they didn't have much at the time

Late take but I actually think the rise to fame and hatred for it didn’t stem from their drug use if anything I think it isolated them which worsened their mind state leading to furthering their depression

Yo, you are doing a good review on the lyrics and that's cool, but you are doing a lot of cut so it feels like you don't vibe and react on the music itself with all of these cut, maybe you could listen the whole song one time without cutting it, then react to the lyrics after. For me it would be perfect reaction but it's maybe just my thought Scrim had cut with his familly because drugs and his ex who was toxic, she made him move away from his familly and was just here for his money Oh and Scrim is also the guys who almost do all of the instrumental Sry for my english, i have good understanding but i write it and speak it rly bad x) Hello from France
