33 x 25 = 825 from the contestant. If we add the 1 on to the 25 instead of the 8x4 then we get 26 x 32 = 832. Rachel knows she needs to get to 832 but without using the 1. A neat trick you can do with multplication is double one and halve the other, so instead of 32x26, we can use 16x52 (or 8x104, 4x208 and 2x416!), could also go the other way to 64x13. Number that have a lot of options like this, such as 512 or 768, she has likely learned all of the combos for them. E.g. she will just know 32x16 = 512, the same as we know 6x4 = 24!

In the first numbers round, you can also do this to keep the 3 until last: 9 x 8 = 72 72 / 6 = 12 25 x 12 = 300 300 + 3 = 303 In the second numbers round, I was expecting this solution: 75 - 25 = 50 8 + 3 = 11 50 x 11 = 550 550 - 1 = 549 And another potential solution was: 5 - 1 = 4 25 x 4 = 100 100 + 75 = 175 175 + 8 = 183 183 x 3 = 549 Another solution for the third numbers round is: 25 - 1 = 24 24 x 8 x 4 = 768 9 x 7 = 63 768 + 63 = 831 And an alternative solution for the fourth numbers round is: 100 x 9 = 900 75 / 5 = 15 15 x 4 = 60 900 + 60 = 960 960 - 1 = 959
For the first one I saw it was 101 x 3 and did 25-8 = 17 17 x 6 =102 102-1 = 101 101×3 = 303 Then realised there were really easy methods after I solved it 😂
