I started with my little brother in the summer of 2020, around the end of sun and moon. We've both enjoyed watching the pokemon series, and now we're still around playing the game. BTW Love your content, keep up the good work! greetings from Belgium!❤

i initiated in the pkmn tcg in 2001 by my friends when i was the new kid in school. But i really started to play seriously in 2010 with the HG&SS era using a reshiram/Typhlosion deck. what a time

I had a friend that asked me cause he and his girlfriend started to play. I joined a prerelease, they stopped later, but I got back into it because it is cheap.

Should at that was more serious. It was around obsidian flame. I did win my first Local with a real deck not long ago. I'm planning to see how far I can go. My friend decided to play One piece but I dont really care for OP

I was a wee lad in the late 1990s-early 2000s. My older brothers got some base set cards from friends at school, and they offloaded a small handful of cards they didn't want off to me. Also tried to teach me to play, but my very very young self barely comprehended what was going on, on top of not having full 60-card decks. I still have a tiny few left of those cards. Finally got some booster packs of my own starting during the EX Ruby Sapphire era, and a few expansions after, but never had anyone to play with, so all i could do was collect the few cards an elementary schooler could afford. Dropped trying to play with others until very recently when i finally found (and can afford) a local card shop. Also played the TCG GB games over the years, which cursed me to keep forgetting i can only play one Supporter per turn. Lost a few games doing that.

CPAO can deal with single prize decks better than Raging Bolt and is also more consistent

Chien-Pao certainly has better options against single-prize decks but there is no universe where it’s more consistent than Raging Bolt. Chien-Pao is inherently more inconsistent than Raging Bolt by virtue of needing to set up a stage 2 Pokemon in order to attack at all. Meanwhile, Raging Bolt can very easily hit for 210+ damage on turn 1 going 2nd while also not needing any evolutions in order to set up. Chien-Pao on that alone has already lost the consistency battle vs. Raging Bolt right there before you account for constantly needing to dig energy out of the discard pile after each attack or having your entire deck collapse if you can’t set up 2 Frigibax and your opponent uses Boss to take out your only Frigibax or Baxcalibur. I’m not even saying Chien-Pao is a bad deck. I’m not even against the argument of Chien-Pao being better than Raging Bolt overall. Just saying that I don’t see a valid argument for Chien-Pao being more consistent than Raging Bolt.

I used to play really casually in xy, stopped when i moved and the local shop was a bad scene. Got back into collecting again at the end of last year and decided i should learn to play for real with the miraidon deck. Ive tried chien pao, charizard and turbo hands and gone back to miraidon since gardevoir is running wild at my new local shop and won our first paid tournament
