Besides that toxic gas icon is unused in Half-Life. It was supposed to be for some sort of "nerve gas" but it was never implemented. Luckily it was added in Team Fortress Classic, I think.
@@Orin. I think that one is failed to implement, not a bug. Edit: I've thought of this and the old message might confuse everyone. Basically what I'm saying is the devs used the wrong icon because it might have been too hard for them.
@@a.q.2330 A pretty old and somewhat forgotten goldSrc multiplayer-only videogame, it's about constantly jumping around from platform to platform while shooting discs at other players to knock them into the void in order to kill them and score points
filipinooo i always wonder what happens in these maps when there is no players in them... they are just sitting there and the bots are just standing there in silence occasionally the guitar music would play on de_westwood... so erie and lonely...
hey dude 1 question, what i do, when i jump my character goes slow but when he's on the floor he's faster, and i think that this error is making that the bunnyhop is imposible, what i must do?
@@prontext3260 why do people keep pretending that rtx is the power hungry one here when the 4090 has considerably less power draw than the 7900 XTX lmao
Foption has an interesting story. The map was apparently removed due to a bug that allowed the electricity to be activated at the end of a round to kill everyone spawning there at the beginning of the next round. The author fixed this, but it was too late, and it never made it back into the game as a stock map.
@@halflifeepisode34980 If 1.6 had an official competitive mode, I guarantee you it would have the same kind of rules. Fun and all, you don't want people to go killing themselves constantly in your ranked match. Do that in a casual one.
That flag easter egg in Alamo makes it a real pain in the ass to complete the map. The trigger doesn't differentiate between you and the bots attacking the flag so you will still die if, say, an enemy helicopter accidentally shoots it.
Not for a long while, I'd imagine. There are plenty of ways to approach the current material that may lead to new insights, and there may simply be new developments in the future that we could never have predicted.
I seriously miss the old days of Brush world entities, where as long as you could synthesize some textures you could have anything you wanted and could sculpt in a map.
In some of the old maps the bots will usually just get stuck in spawn or near spawn by just walking and jumping into the wall lmao (cs_backalley, cs_militia, cs_italy, cs_siege, de_aztec, and many more)
I knew it, you can get struck by lightning in Aztec! I remember it happened to me years ago but when I remembered it recently, I can't find any mention on the CS wiki.
When I was a kid, I watched one of Flashdeck's CS animations about Aztec. When Striker (AKA the guy who was known for being the first guy to die in every animation) got struck by lightning, I thought "The fuck? I don't remember that happening when I play that map!". Even Killer was just confused as I am after that scene. Now, looking back and I found out there was an actual lightning in the map that can actually kill you in one of the older versions of the game. You learn something you didn't know about after many years!
Mr. Marph, there was another kind of death in a beta map called cs_ship. Beside CT spawn, there's gaps you can fall off and get inside water which has Nerve Gas Damage (it creeped me out cuz of the Nerve Gas Damage Sprite, also it supposed to be Ice Damage in early build but trying it in 1.6 or CZ is Nerve Gas Damage)
I think you missed cs_siege tank on ct spawn that can be brought as far as into the parking spot in front of t spawn building, oh how fun it was to bring that shit and run down all the Ts, though it's pretty similar to the fun vehicle one. I also thought you were gonna miss the aztec lightning strike. Iirc the lightning also strikes the other site and I'm proud to say I have been hit by it two times in two consecutive rounds unintentionally. The de_torn bombing is new to me and I wish I had known about it back then. And for some reason the ice water one, back when I played there once you get in you just can't get out of it (I think the gap to the ground was too high or there was an invisible wall), so it's a sure kill spot where you can only watch yourself to death (and it was almost pitch black under the water). This is a really nice vid, though I'm not really familiar with some of the maps haha
Yeah when they land at that airport to get gas!! LOL that zombie steps up on the crates to get at Roger, stands up and the blades rip the top of his skull off. Easy gag by Tom Savini the master of zombie make up.
Just rewriting my comment from the now private video hehe. I like on how you include beta maps such as Bunker, Jeepathon2k, Foption, Iraq, Thunder and Railroad -- also I didn't know about the bombing thingy in Torn, played that map a few times but I never notice it. The lightning in an older version of Aztec? How did I miss that? It's epic and the anti-patriot behavior in CSCZDS being punishable is a new thing that I learned.
Yeah de_torn bombing was new to me too. You might have missed de_aztec one because, if my memory serves me right, it doesn't happen every round and it can hit a different spot
The lightning strikes in Aztec are controlled by triggers. When players touch certain spots, the lightning will occur a few seconds later. Afterwards, there's a 60 second delay before players can activate the triggers again.
4:18 - As a kid I thought that there was some kind monster under the ice, and that the icon was its face For the longest time I've avoided that zone cuz I was scared

9 years playing this game and i don't know if the de_torn map have a flying jet in the sky and at de_aztec have an lighting struck this game really amazing!
Wow, this takes me back to the days of playing CS as a HL1 mod, even though I never played most of these maps. That being said, how could this meticulous channel forget *THE EXPLODING TURD IN CS_MILITIA'S TOILET?!*
@@MarphitimusBlackimus Wow, thanks for the quick reply! I'm really surprised to read that and wonder if it was changed at some point over the years. I strongly seem to remember being damaged by it, but maybe that was an older version of the map...or my memory failing me. Thanks for your work on this and many other videos I've enjoyed.
1. You forgot the APC on cs-siege, which was a glitchy death machine for both driver and occupants 2. Holy damn Vertigo, Survivor, Jeepathon2k and Thunder I haven’t seen in YEARS! But Desert, Bunker, Iraq, Foption, Fang and Forest I’ve never seen and I thought I played ‘em all back in the day (I only had like 250 maps loaded in my rotation) 3. This is the first time in my life that I’ve ever seen lighting on Aztec, and I seem to recall knifing the spy van dish on Assault didn’t make it explode? Did they add that later? 4. And It’s been almost 15 years since I played CZ, but there IS another part where it’s an insta-fail for shooting Old Glory on some mission…
I wish Global Offensive had kept some of the interactivity of the older games, at least with non-community maps. Just some interactive doors, maybe an elevator or something. And some environmental hazards like radiation or explosives.
In cs beta, there was a mode now cut out called "escape". It works fine in the current version of the game on special maps like es_jail. Will you make a video about it? There is an additional information about it on cs wiki : counterstrike.fandom.com/wiki/Escape
While the cut Escape maps are interesting, there's nothing especially remarkable to show about the mode itself, and there are already videos here on YT demonstrating the levels.
I thought CS was just the usual T vs CT shenanigans. I didn't know all of these maps or details ever existed! I just know your nuke, your dust, your community maps, etc. Makes it feel more like a solo campaign game more along the lines of Condition Zero.
