Used Vaporeon on the last Primarina raid. It went very well. Reasons why Vaporeon's my top favorite mon and no, it's not because of the damn copypasta.
Galarian Articuno is a cheat code for the raid too you can put him to sleep with hypnosis if you want but I just spam freezing glare, 2 reflects, and a couple future sights.
1st solo try with G Articuno worked.. Calm Mind Stored Power Freezing Glare Shell Bell Max Sp Atk Minimum requirements posted above.. 1st turn boost stats.. Any hax suffered from the raid besides poison is actually a positive.. Spam freezing glare until near breaking shield.. Regular damage output should be enough to keep recovering safely each turn.. Stores power if competitive ability activates more then once.. Not too difficult..
Yeah it’s almost like there have been other raids and events going on … and that they’ve ran these stater raids twice a month for people who missed them the first time 😶
Thank you so much for making another one of these. You are by far my favorite “7 star raid mightiest mark coverer”. Your audience always has the best strats in the comments too.
I think this is also dependent on which NPCs you get because I tried this a bunch of times last night and kept losing, but then I did it again this morning after the game refreshed the NPCs and it worked.
thank you for the strat as always! two things to note: 1. getting poisoned by Sludge Wave = might as well restart the raid 2. Stored power is so strong, doing only 4 Calm Minds + Acid Armor is more than enough in case your HP gets too low
I got Slowbro to work, but instead of Iron Defense, I used Amnesia. I kept my stats at max Sp.Atk and Def so that the high Def would tank Swampert’s physical attacks, while Amnesia would tank its special attacks. The fact that this Swampert is a mixed attacker is actually kinda sneaky challenging because if you max out one defensive stat, it just hits you in the other one.
Welcome back to the War Room. I have a Mewtwo solo build if anyone wants to try it out. Mewtwo build (Mewtwo the Unrivaled recommended) Tera type: Psychic Nature: Modest EVs: 252 HP 252 Special Attack Item: Shell Bell IVs: Best or Hyper Train HP, Special Attack, Defence and Special Defence Moves: Psystrike Psychic Nasty Plot Recover Start by using Psychic 4 times to build a Tera charge. Once Swampert resets your stats, start alternating between Nasty Plot, Recover and Psystrike. Don't forget to Terastalize.
Slowbro does work, you just gotta substitute with Iron Defense with Amnesia. Also, probably EV train into HP instead of Sp.ATK, so you have more bulk. Stored power will do big damage, even with the lower stats.
We never got a 7-star Primarina raid video from this channel. Not because Austin John forgot or was busy, but because he believed in us that we could do it without his help. I succeeded; I hope you all did too.
Hey uhhhh a huge bug happened to me, So in a raid it was me playing the vaporeon, another guy with a smeargle, and two mewtwos, a normal one and a shiny one The raid took a long time to load and then I realized my vaporeon didn’t have the right moveset and it was a lot like a smeargle one, then swampert one shot me so I was super confused, when i respawned I realized I myself was the smeargle , the normal mewtwo was vaporeon, the smeargle was shiny mewtwo and the shiny mewtwo was normal mewtwo, I don’t know what happened or how it happened, but we obviously lost the raid, somehow we switched Pokémon, I took photos and videos if Austin wants proof but I don’t know if it’s a common thing, anyway thanks a lot Austin since the set you gave us was really helpful!
I'll just say: I too solo'd this (first try) with my Slowbro when I had both Bellibolt and Arboliva as my partners as well. These two Pokémon, especially together, are super useful, massively reducing the damage you take (from Light Screen and Grassy Terrain). Also Intimate users are useful (Tauros, Arcanine, Staraptor). I personally feel this might be one of those raids where a good partner can be especially helpful 😊
Best video posted by far! (As always, lol). Really appreciate the solo builds + several options cause sometimes I can reuse past raid attackers and not have to start from scratch (reused vaporeon from the primarina raids). Thanks man, really appreciate it :))
I used a Flying tera type Vaporeon with water absorb ability. The moves were aqua ring, helping hand, mud slap and acid armour. The item was leftovers. The Vaporeon was a support pokemon rather than an attacker.
I used Mewtwo but got lucky with 2 vaporeans and one person with mudshot (forgot the Pokémon). The three others were the tanks and supports while I was the damage dealer. Safe to say I hit the jackpot lol
Thanks for the build. One thing to keep in mind is that an Intimidate NPC might actually be harmful this time. Because both times I did this raid (the first was a fail) I had an Intimidater with me and Swampert only started using Earthquake after I had all 6 Calm Minds up. Before that, it always attacked with Sludge Wave which will at some point poison you, which is a pain.
I’m doing a Lugia build if anyone wants to do it knock yourself out Lugia: Tera Psychic Max SpAtk, Max Speed or HP Held Item: Clear Amulet or Light Clay Ability: Multiscale Extrasensory Calm Mind Recover Reflect (Hope this helps out in the future my friends) Turn 1: Reflect Turn 2-4: Calm Mind Turn 5: Recover Turn 6: Reflect again Turn 7-9: Calm Mind until +6 Turn 10+: Extrasensory
With Vaporeon I had more success with aqua ring and fake tears instead of Austin's acid armour and curse moves. So turn one you use aqua ring which will essentially make you unkillable the whole raid because you'll be getting HP back while you are doing your set up moves. Then 3 fake tears. Turn 5 do a stored power just to work the towards tera and then he will put his shield up and clear your stats (but Swampert won't clear his own stats until later around your 2nd stored power). Next do 6 calm minds and then spam stored power until the raid is over.
I think that arboliva is more important than you think. I was having a hard time with this build. I kept getting close, but I always had one death knocking off a big chunk of time that ends up being critical. Then I accidentally loaded up annihilape. I figured, might as well give it a go. Got off a couple screeches before shield up, then rage fist all the way home for the win. He kept hitting with hydro pump but that just kept powering up rage fist, and shell bell kept it going.
After weeks of waiting to get Spinda in BDSP (only to find out Shiny Charm is broken), I can FINALLY get back into date skipping shenanigans in SV. And what great timing to get an AJP notification that there's a new Mightiest Mark Pokemon available. You love to see it.
So I re-used my Vaporeon from a previous raid (I think MM Iron Bundle?) Basically the same build as this but I had Babydoll Eyes instead of Curse. Holding Leftovers. Fired off 3 Babydoll Eyes right off the bat, then did the set up for Stored Power. Due to the 3 Babydoll Eyes, my 1st attack took out 4/5 of the shield, with him removing the debuff next turn but even then my 2nd attack finished off the shield & only 2 more to finish him off. Didn't even get the chance to terastallize.
Off Topic; i think its crazy the view differences between these Videos and the Paper Mario Vids (They are awesome and everyone should watch all of them to see Austin Enjoying Paper Mario TTYD) All of your vids are awesome btw.
I used mud slap as the move to use to build up tera energy. It made Swampert miss a lot while I was using calm mind. Also, I didn't change the EVs from the build I used for Primarina... it didn't matter that my sp def was maxed out instead of def or hp.
Thank you for being someone who makes videos to be informative & creative not just putting out videos every day on “rumors & leaks” for upcoming game when there’s not creditable source just to push out videos for $. I’ll wait for any z-a news from official stuff or you
I'm so glad this one is easily done solo. No one online seems to know what they're doing. I was hoping to farm Herba, but I've only one one online raid in 2.5 hours.
I tried it with Slowbro together with a friend, and man, it was annoying... When we used Iron Defense it used Sludge Bomb, when we used Amnesia it used Earthquake. We then split the strategy - one Iron Defense Slowbro, one Amnesia Slowbro - like, to confuse the Swampert (?) but what happens? It attacks us individually. I didn't know this was possible... In the end I thought we'd try one Slowbro with Lightscreen. Then it worked well. At elast we got it. For the future, I should maybe prepare a Vaporeon :/ Anyways, it's always fun to watch your raid guide!
Vaporeon, Water Absorb, Modest, Psychic Tera, Covert Cloak, Aqua Ring round one never needs to heal, Acid Armor, Calm mind, and Stored Power. Either 252 in Hp or Def, 252 Spe Atk, then the other 4 in Hp or Def.
Thank You So Much Austin John Plays For The Video I Used Your Strategy It Worked Like A Charm I Caught Swampert On My Third Attempt & It Did Work For Me Because I Did It Solo & Had Arboliva On My Team
Haven’t played in over a month and the one day I return and everything comes crashing back as to WHY I quit playing and was better off for it. Bugs galore, “would you like to abandon the raid” box stayed up during the whole battle and even afterwards in the overworld. Then I get hit with a crit sludge wave after getting my health chipped away which dropped me to red and then got poisoned and KOed on that turn along with another player’s Mew. Friggin’ wonderful.
An adjustment to the Vaporeon strat: Just use Acid Armor and then ping Stored Power until the shield goes up, then Acid Armor and 6 Calm Mind. No sense wasting the first few turns on Calm Mind when it's just going to get wiped so quickly. Might take Aqua Ring as the 4th move just in case your AI partners really suck, but otherwise, just focus on building some Tera early as there's not much to do before that barrier goes up.
He spams sludge wave on me instead of EQ. I think the AI that you have matter... because getting poisoned using this strat makes it fall apart EDIT* if def is higher he spams sludgewave, if sp.def. is higher he spams EQ
Better setup for me and a friend was same stats and everything else except the moves kinda similar to the rest of the Vaporeon combos: Mud Slap, Calm Mind, Acid Armour, Tera Blast. Use Mud slap x4 then tera then acid armour 1-2 after stat reset then calm mind x6 then tera blast away. Use PP up on Tera blast till its 16
Can defo recommend Wellspring Ogerpon with: Ivy Cudgel, Synthesis, Rain Dance, Sword Dance. Max ev's in Attack and HP, additional in Defense. Best partners for solo are Gardevoir + Arcanine or Staraptor First attack with Ivy Cudgel 4 times until Tera is unlocked (it will steal your Tera Orb's charge, so you need 4 hits), use Synthesis if needed (you should faint). Next use your Tera and use Sword Dance 3 times and Rain Dance 1 time (again Synthesis if needed) Then use Ivy Cudgel until it's done (and yet again Synthesis if you need) Gardevoir is VERY USEFUL and a pokemon with Intimidate is useful too. Have fun!
Dang I was shocked to see the Bro not work. I’ve used it 6 times now. Might have just been a high roll on that Sludge Wave. Nice to see the other options tho, thanks AJP! 🫡
It does work but the claim it doesn't depend on luck is incorrect, it is not 100% in my experience, I often get hit too hard not to heal and once I'm off tempo I can't always recover. Have had to retry a few times each day to get it.
Espathra works great as a supporter for this raid, lumina crash is super effective and lowers his special defense 2 stages, espathra is a tad squishy, so if you can just play a supportive role with friends, ggs 💪
I was wondering if orthworm would've worked but after this video, I wonder if I should go with my gastrodon after all. I don't use it as an attacker but specifically to tank water attacks and mud slap for lowering accuracy. It's defenses are pretty high as well so it shouldn't have an issue with any of swampert's attacks (unless there is a crit)
EV investment in hp isn't necessary i used the same strat with max investment in sp def and sp attack and got the same result, was super easy, thank you for the information.
update since last facing it: you can settle for three calm minds and 2 acid armors once you tera and stored power your good only catch if Pert cries your screwed
I beat the raid with that Slowbro, but with Amnesia instead of Iron Defense. I did have a Staraptor using intimidate too, but that meant I didn't need to build a whole new Pokemon.
I'm just gonna drop what I got it with on my first try: Corviknight (Mirror Armor) Hone Claws Power Trip Screech Tera Blast (Psychic Tera) My teammates provided steady damage, nothing particularly hard-hitting, I did a mix of Screech, Heal Chants, and tanked Hydro Pumps until I was able to Terastalize, at which point my [and my teammates'] Tera Blasts tore through the remaining health in no time.
I tried stored power Espathra and it feels faster. -Calm mind -Feather dance -Lumina crash -Stored power 252 sp def, 252 spd atk, 6 hp Speed boost Ability Having grassy terrain or burn on swampert makes the raid a lot more comfortable. Get -6 spd def on swampert, and then just tera stored power till win.
I used a Modest Gastrodon with Earth Power, Mud-Slap, Recover, and Ancient Power to try and get a few more SAtk increases. Holds Metronome, max Def, max SAtk. Was easy after 3-4 Mud-Slap hardly getting hit and then Metronome does most the work. EDIT: Ground tera.
Ok question that I like ur opinion on, I used Vaporeon(with the build you showed on this video), but this Swampert keeps using earthquake, & REALLY droping my Vaporeon’s HP(Even AFTER using Acid Armor 2-3 times), So I though I might teach it a Healing move, but not sure which one of these two are better. So Which one is most PREFERRED healing move to use, Aqua Ring or the egg move Wish?
Personally for me i rather use 2 acid armour then do the calm mind cus swampert keeps using earthquake sometimes and i sometimes don't have the right support pokemon, it did the trick for me this way
