seriously fucking awesome. The fact that they use lower/mid-range shit and still sound great just goes to show that it's the fingers that should always do the talking. Somebody give these guys a Squier.
well they use mid range guitars but your amps are what give you a way bigger chunk of your overall tone and i saw videos of them recording this album and they used a 6505 which is an amazing amp, probably one of the best for hardcore music.
When I saw them at Jamboree, and from what I've seen in most live videos, Alex (Ibanez guitar) uses a Dual Rectifier 99% of the time and Jesse uses some version of a 5150/6505 and they both use Orange cabs and a bunch of pedals. But the reason their stuff is amazing is because they are both incredible players. You can have the nicest gear ever, but if you can't play you will sound like shit.
I will graciously accept that my life’s work, whether it be in the past, the present, or the future It will be overshadowed by those around me With a different definition of “success” Though I can’t explain the path I’ve chosen All I know is I’m right where I need to be And though I’ve turned down a chance at fame and fortune I know that there is no greater payment than this And I’m so fucking far from the life I’m supposed to lead, and the man I’m supposed to be and I couldn’t be happier And I will remain a constant, I know where I stand, and I refuse to let their selfishness take control of who I am Take control of who I am Take control of who I am And while I may die poor, at least my life had meaning There’s more to life than living, and I truly feel alive And I know that when I die There will be others who feel the same way ready to take my place This is our song of protest I promise you that nothing is slowing us down I promise you That nothing is slowing us down And while I may die poor, at least my life had meaning There’s more to life than living and I truly feel alive And I know that when I die There will be others who feel the same way ready to take my place And I will laugh in the face of those who tell me different And I will laugh in the face of those who tell me different Even with both of my feet planted firmly on the ground I am free to move in my own direction I will remain a constant I know where I stand I know where I stand I know where I stand I know where I stand I know where I stand
I've seen him and some videos of him using an engl before, and a 5150ii is one of the greatest amp you can get. people can have more than one amp, im a guitarist and i rotate between two heads myself, soon to be a 3rd also
line 6's pod farm which is what you a refering to is a totally different animal the the spider series of amp. i even use pod farm to record sometimes. however using a spider is a no no
dude jesse , the guitarist with the les paul almost always uses a 5150ii live which you can get for about $600 and the other guitarist does use a mesa boogie dual rec most of the time but I actually just saw them 2 days ago in London ontario and he was using a 6505
I still think line 6 sounds decent a lot of music groups use their software to record and it sounds great. I used to think that tube was always the way to go but digital can sound just as good it's all a matter of preference.
will admit this is amazing, and their sound is as well, but the dude on top has a pretty decent guitar, it costs about as much as my schecter c1 hellraiser, which i think is one of schecter's higher end guitars
i really enjoyed the Prophets CD's guitar more than TCWCU but i'd have to say from a guitarists' standpoint, their new type of riffing is unique and more melodic than the first album. i did enjoy the simplicity of the melodic-ness with the first album but they really changed with this album. not a bad change though that's for sure. (check out my Sturdy Wings cover :D)
they are only using mid range guitars. their amps are as high quality as you can get. The guitarist with the les paul is using an ENGL powerball and i believe the other is using a dual rectifier. your amp is about 75% of your tone. the other 25 is your playing style and a mix of pickups and the guitar and other stuff. You can take a cheap les paul and put it through the best amp and it will still sound amazing, take a gibson les paul custom and put it through a line 6. it will sound like shit
True to some extent. If Jimi hendrix played an LP through a Line 6 it would sound amazing. A lot of your tone comes from the playing itself as well ya know. Besides, Line 6 is not even that bad. You can get a good sound out of anything really but sometimes you'll have to work harder for it.
why would you get a spider when you can just get a peavey 6505 or jsx. they arent that expensive and its worth it. there is a difference. spiders sound digital and shrill, lifeless almost. tubes has life and warmth to them that you cant compete with. start studying and playing with different amps and you will see
the playing will be great! but the tone will be shrill and horrid like every line 6 is. spend years playing thru tube amps and than you will see how horrid any modeling solid state amp is!
