That is the United States' TOTAL debt, not external debt. Its external debt is 7-8 trillion. It speaks volumes to the accuracy of this channel when all it would've taken was one simple google search to correct this, but apparently they are incapable of that.
This only shows a countries external debt (money borrowed from outside its country). The more appropriate stat to look at is either total debt or external debt as a percent of total debt or debt to gdp.
Internal debts are usually denominated in one's own currency and for countries such as Japan and China, they are actually borrowing from their own citizens and are less affected by global markets for those debts.
i don't think much effort was putr into that video. Some website say ireland a 250 billion debts, some say 3.3 Trillions ! 3.3 trillions is more or less the same as France which has a population 13.6 times bigger. That doesn't make sense. Does anyone know what the truth?
All the countries which were colonized by UK get there freedom around that time & then UK have nothing to exploit for their own benefits and then their downfall started.
@@jackkruese4258 i am not guessing, after WW2 British Empire almost fucked up & they were pressurised by america to release colonies ehich were under their Imperialism and almost whole of south east asia and africa got their independence. And the wealth looted from these major countries gradually came to an end after 3-4 decades (till 1995). and last colony Hong Kong released in 1997. You can clearly see the rise in debt after 1997.
@@vervideosgiros1156 ok i know soviet union does not exist anymore. but did the dept got transfered to russia or something? also to whom do the countries owe to? like america owns to specific other countries?
The contributions of the FHC and Lula governments to reducing Brazil's external debt are evident. While Brazil was on the sad adventure of neoliberalism, it sank into debt and hyperinflation. Without democracy you cannot get out of the external debt trap.
@@linkanjos3006 In the graph we can see that the policies implemented during this period served to transform Brazil from a major debtor of external debt to a creditor of the debt of the United States and the European Union. Such measures are not possible without the three powers operating harmoniously and all voices being heard.
From an Irish guy man this is fucking depressing we have more debt then China India Russia Germany Italy Greece Australia And many more countries almost more debt then France Holy fuck were screwed

India is not in the list and this is only time we like to be not in the lit, topping charts. What happened with UK is pure Karma. They looted so much from India and are still in debt. Cheers! I love this channel for its quality efforts. Thanks, totally subscribing!
India is "isolated" economically speaking, don't interpret isolation as something bad. India main economic partner since its independence from UK was USSR, after its demise India entered in a great recession. The thing is, they don't trade basic inputs, they don't export their national treasures, they depreciate the Rupee so foreign investment cash in. They also didn't privatize their state companies to foreign countries, much the contrary they are buying state companies in other countries. The only thing that would be a concern is their exchange reserve which they depleted over the pandemic and now due to Russia's conflicts with Ukraine. Compared to other countries, India stays strong with only 740 Billion in USD in Foreign Debt, only comprising 16% of their GDP.
From an Irish guy imo were the worst because of our small population get 3.2 trillion debt Per population that debt works out at about 652,000 dollars per citizen if we divided it evenly For America thats not even 100k per citizen if it was divided evenly
