Sleep Tokens whole idea is making music that doesn't fit into any one genre, with no one song of theirs sounding the same. The focus of the band is entirely on the music they make, not who they are, so they're masked and anonymous.

Nice reaction! 🖤 P.S. love how your logo is my initials 😂 Sleep Token are the best band I have ever come across and the recent album is definitely my AOTY! You should go down the rabbit hole now. They’re genre bending and use elements of everything from rock, metal, RnB, trap, hip hop, gospel, and more. Even if you don’t like one song don’t write them off as every song is different and as you can see from this one they switch up completely through the songs, also don’t be thrown off by some of them being 7-8 minutes long either as it goes by far too quickly. You should start at the beginning and work your way through as they tell a story and have call backs to a lot of them. The band are anonymous, I and others know who they are but won’t reveal out of respect to the band and fans but the singer goes by the moniker Vessel, drummer, who is a beast is II, bassist III and guitarist IV. From London UK. As far as their discography goes they brought out two EPs called One and Two, then 2 singles called Jaws and The Way That You Were, then the three albums Sundowning, The Place Will Become Your Tomb, then TMBTE (Take Me Back To Eden). They’ve done five covers that I’m aware of. One being Hey Ya by OutKast, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, Is It Really You? By Loathe and When The Party’s Over by Billie Eilish, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. His Vocal range I believe is B ♭2 to F#5 and he has a wonderful chest voice, head voice and scream. I have never hyper fixated on a band like I have with these! Loved the react and Will subscribe and hopefully see many more. 🖤 The trilogy = Seduction. Destruction. Liberation.

I listen to metal to fall asleep at night, I wear headphones though to spare my wife the agony. Also, almost every time a Sleep Toke song ends I want it to be longer. #Worship

Honestly I love seeing people branch out into genre’s they aren’t typically into! Sleep Token is probably one of the lesser heavy bands in MetalCore so you picked a good one if screaming isn’t your thing.

Progressive Metal MIGHT BE the thing for you if you're into songwriting complexity and genre blending. Opeth, Dream Theater, Tesseract, The Contortionist, Mastodon, Isis, Deftones, Coheed And Cambria, Ne Obliviscaris, and Steven Wilson are a few projects worth checking out!

I’ve found that a lot of things that I love about the country music I listen to (Red Dirt/Texas Country) translates to metal music quite well. Intricate lyricism in combination with fantastic musical orchestration. I loved your honest introduction into the song, and then how you received the song being pleasantly surprised even with the heavier parts of the track. Keep being open to more music and being you 🤘 I would recommend checking out Rain City Drive. Starting maybe with “Cutting It Close”

Your brother has good taste in music, welcome to the cult, i mean club Tyler! I too enjoy falling asleep to metalcore music, and my theory is that because all the screaming and synth/layers start to sound like white noise, especially if the vocalist has a deep or low voice.

I think a lot of people forget that metal music is meant to be a cathartic and sort of safer way to release a lot of negative energy that people tend to build up throughout their lives. if you're ever curious about what I mean, checkout the lyrics of some mainstream metal songs. a lot of them talk about an immense sense of pain, loss, anger, frustration, and other things, but the way that they talk about it can be really poetic. for example, in the song "to the hellfire" its lyrics are talking about accepting the embrace of death at the end of one's life. "I'll hold onto feeling until my final breath escapes; gazing upon this world as it fades. fall with me into the other night. we can go beyond the horizon again. fall with me until we're out of time. let the current swallow..."

I’ve this is up your alley I highly recommend Dayseeker or a song called Come Home from a band called Darko us who fears singer from Dayseeker. If you enjoy these vibes then I promise they won’t disappoint
