Definitely bring him back!! Chalk Outlines would be good too! Much love and mad respect #TravisLee and of course our one and only #BlackPegasus❤️❤️ This is the time for independent artists ... if artists don't back down and fans keep showing the love ignoring the narratives and unnecessary negativity in and from the mainstream... we can show them that music can be medicine again... maybe even eventually stop them from using it against us
To hear Ren show off his singing chops, Chalk Outlines is amazing. But a few more I'd add... Ren with Sam Tompkins doing Blind Eyed (the version with the angry car park attendant), and while I know he said he's not as interested in covers but Earned It/Man's World/Falling. Or go way back to Crutch with Bibi but that's a damn hard watch because that's right in the worst of his illness. And then there's the one that is frankly my favorite Ren song (with the Big Push)... Bongo Bong. That song is just perfect, it is a cover but it's so different than the original that they can barely be compared.
@ArctophileGA as much as is love to see his reaction to each and every one of Ren's tracks I'm a firm believer that asking him to wait on watching any would be cruel and unusual torture lol !!! Something tells me tho that he'll dive into Ren's catalog after... likely already wants to lol... maybe he'll send BP an update to let us know what he thinks of ones he doesn't get to react to with BP!
To know how far Ren has come with his illnesses I think everybody should watch his 6ish minute video of him from 2014. Its truly a miracle the man is still alive.
For those asking…pretty sure this is the video that’s being referenced. It’s heartbreaking to watch but incredible to see how far he’s come, even though there’s no cure for him…he’s able to function now and live with the illness. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jaltehH_cNo.html
He was great - thoughtful, open minded and eloquent - DEFINITELY bring him back!! X PS he’s skinny because he literally can’t eat much - it’s not a choice.
@@supertuscans9512 There is a video of his treatment and his plate of the only food he can eat. It is a histamine paleo...2 types of beef and about 4 or 5 veggies, one is a root veggie, sweet potato I believe,
To be fair to BP, he answered that correctly in the context it was asked. Some people are naturally muscular, and when they have a low body fat content, can look like athletes without putting much effort in. Ren works out out daily and looks the way he does because he puts in the hard yards at the gym *not* just because he’s skinny - for BP to say otherwise would have been selling short all of Ren’s efforts (anyone with his frame that can bench press 100kg like he did in a recent video has put in many 100s of hours)
Absolutely refreshing! Definitely bring Travis Lee back. I agree with the other comments on Chalk Outlines.. One of my personal faves is Patience which is very uplifting.
The fact that Patience hasn't been part of this "rollercoaster" is nuts. No other video shows how far Ren has come in his struggles than that one. It puts a face to his illness and the toll it took on his body, and showcases his mental strength through those struggles. It's mandatory to really understanding Ren's story. He looks like an adolescent but is in his early 20s, he's so ravaged by the disease. The video is called " Patience | Ren Gill | M.E " for anyone who hasn't seen it. M.E. is Myalgic Encephalitis, which was his (mis)diagnosis at the time. The video is on a channel called Ayesha Jones, who I believe filmed the performance.
Yo the ADHD in me appreciates the exact color opposites here, down to the cap straps! Very yin-yang of you two 😂. Really enjoying your Ren Rollercoasters
Travis Lee is now my fav guest to react with you Black Pegasus!! Excellent viewpoints. Great to see that he's knowledgeable in many aspects of art! Love his appreciation for Ren! And Chinchilla. I'd love to see more reactions from him to more of Both of them. Especially Chalk Outlines. and Little Girl Gone video. So many Rens BardCore tunes to do🔥 Thank you so much for this WonderFull reaction ❣️🔥💯
🎉bring him back ! Maybe show him chalk outlines live, fingers live, big push wade in the water mashup, sam and ren earned it mans world mashup or maybe genesus live. And for a fun one maybe bongo bong
I've been following Ren since I saw him busking in Brighton about 4 or 5 years ago and I'm not surprised at the success he's having right now. A generational musical talent. I'm not usually one for reaction videos, but BP and Knox provide the most sincere, heartfelt commentary.
Props to Black Pegasus for bringing so many of his musical family into the Ren fold. It's interesting to hear, as someone who is old enough to have grown up alongside the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Cream, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, the Yardbirds, the Moody Blues, Deep Purple, David Bowie, the Faces, Fleetwood Mac, Dusty Springfield, Pink Floyd, Queen, Jeff Beck, Genesis, King Crimson, to name only a very few, that very few of the guests recognise, appreciate, or have even heard of, any of them. Yet every gifted and successful American musician of any note lists English (and British) bands as amongst their most important musical influences
Travis is clearly knowledgable, however, he dismissed the Big Push mash up before giving it a chance. He is in for a lesson in how to respect the artists involved. He also dissed UK lyricists ..... big mistake!
Dude... Bp your circle is so dope. All your friends/ guests are insightful, respectful and amazing human beings. Your blessed man and because of that we all are to. Keep up the amazing work here and in the studio.
This is the best guest you have brought on, him requesting a ballad made the whole reaction come to life more, BP sleeping on the older gems like chalk outlines
PLEASE release your emotional video. Ren has exposed his life through his music and tells us it is ok to be broken. I bet you if you talked to Ren about it he would say the same thing. I find myself often in tears because of Rens music and message. ....and its ok.
You should definitely get people to react to how Ren completely reinvents his own songs between the recordings and live performances. Like Animal Flow and Murderer live versions after their actual music videos. That contrast really shows a unique view of Rens range and creativity.
Definitely need to bring Travis back and have him check out Ren and Chinchilla doing “Chalk Outlines”(Live), Ren with Sam Tompkins and FF to Ren doing “Man’s World” and Chinchilla’s “Little Girl Gone”(Requiem). Then maybe “Humble” and “Genesis” to show more of Ren’s diversity.
Travis was a great reactor! He caught more than your average guests, so bring him back if you can. If he only wants to hear original songs, definitely put him in front of Chalk Outlines for both R and C. For only R. I recommend "Ready for you" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PdPVzKTJWXI.html. Or the Big Push originals "Precious" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IlzN1hF_re8.html or "It´s alright" live, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5vqU2t29XN4.html. For only Chinchlla of course "Fingers" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KK56SwMFzdc.html
Always love the 'So you've never heard of Ren before?' reactions. You know how to pick 'em! Travis Lee is another great guest. Absolutely, keep it authentic. Thoughtfully stated opinions are always interesting, even if the view differs. The Nike tracksuit/Adidas socks with pant cuffs tucked in is a 'Ren' thing. If you look very closely, in the rearview mirror at the end, you see the pig get out but after that you also see a slight movement of door and car as the cameraman carefully get out. There's a cut there too, as you see a white car magically appear as the camera moves out. Luke Flegg did an incredible job with the editing. It takes watching a bunch of times to see it if you don't know. BP: surely you can reach into that contact bag and pull out a few more? By the way, Ren has a poll up on his community page for everyone to vote for their favorite! LM3 is currently the fan favorite. While you're your there, make sure to stop by and to turn on the notification for Love Music 4 as well!
Great guest, enjoyed Travis' insights. Would put him in front of Chalk Outlines for sure, more Live Ren and Chinchilla. The Big Push cover of Englishman in New York is also a great choice.
Travis is an awesome analyst! I’d love to see more reactions to Ren from this dude. Thanks, BP, for bringing all these awesome folks to the Reniverse, and therefore exposing us, in turn, to their artistry. ❤
Notice the shadows of ren in hi ren the "evil" side has a darker shadow and the other is way lighter too! The level of detail is insane. Also that sick boi jacket is hard AF
Probably the best guest you’ve had on to react to Ren. Chalk Outlines would be a great one for him to react to if he is also curious about Chinchilla. Maybe you have already since I’m just getting to know you, BP, but love how you have been promoting Ren.
When Ren says he was in psychosis, this is not just a metaphor, he did go through this. He explained that in one of the interviews, saying he was naked in the street. It’s both real and metaphorical. 😘😘😘 it was 3 takes.
I am 53, I love all forms of music, I have found myself trying to concentrate on music from before around 2005 because after that everything seemed to sound like the same thing it didn't matter if it was country, rock, pop, whatever. That being said, I am so grateful for these youtube reactions as I get to see new people's reactions to music I have been listening to my whole life, and be introduced to Amazing new Artists like REN, and Chinchilla that will hopefully return the music industry to music that speaks to the soul, and makes you feel emotions and when you hear it after a while you remember the first time you heard it and you get to relive something that is a part of your life, keep up the awesome work and thank you.
Bring him back for a Chichilla rollercoaster, lol. Chalk Outlines, Fingers (Live), Little Girl Gone, her and Ren busking on Sexual Healing. That's a heck of a line up.
I love everything Ren does, even stuff that's not really my thing, like Masochist, because it is all so freaking interesting and different - mixing all kinds of styles and genres. He is an phenomenal talent. But "Hi Ren" even goes beyond all that. I think it is a universal work of art that touches people's souls. I love how you are introducing so many different people to his work, especially Hi Ren, but it's so fun to watch them experience all of it. Thank you.
Man I have watched a bunch of your videos, but I think this guy is my favorite guest, very articulate and concise. Y’all have helped me the last few weeks as well as Ren and Chinchilla. Thank you.
Definitely gotta get him back for reacting to Ren, especially for songs like Chalk Outlines and Jenny and Screech. He's eager to hear more of his singing range, so it's a win-win!
Vocal range of Ren is so impresive and that s what attract me first in song" Wade in the water"amazing vocal. and I m glad Travis felt it too. Please BP makes a reaction on that Ren s cover.Hear and die.💯💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏
Yo BP! I love it when you bring new eyes and ears to the Ren-aissance but I gotta say that I also really enjoy seeing your re-react to songs. During Hi Ren you were locked right in as if it was your first time watching it. Great video, loved your reactions!
I have now seen a few reactions that you have broadcasted I am stoked that you have done 'Hi Ren' numerous times Each reaction everyone has depicted different analysis
I’ve seen Hi Ren so many times and have only just noticed the reason for the lamps. Don’t focus on the lamps, look what they’re doing to his shadow, especially in the dark side moment. Switching the shadows left & right.
I'm not sure I'm more enraptured by Ren pouring his soul out, Black Pegasus feeling it, or seeing the moment your guest gets it. It's just pure ecstasy. Thank you for this.
That was dope BP. I knew from the get go this dude wasn’t a people pleaser… which instantly raises the value of anything and everything he says. I thoroughly enjoyed that. Yes. More. NOW!!!
You gotta bring him back for chinchilla, but starting with “Chalk Outlines” and then her recent independent stuff. No doubt, he’ll love that duet and her own stuff with her crazy powerful voice. Plus you still gotta turn him on to Ren’s “The Hunger” and “Losing it”, I think he’ll love them both. Maybe even play Ren x Bibi’s “Crutch”, another song to showcase Ren’s singing voice.
Chalk Outlines, the Trilogy and sick boi would make a great second video with the homie.. you keep getting talented, smart, fun people in here to break down my favorite artist going right now. Big ups, Black P for the work..
BP Awesome reaction! Loving the Ren Rollercoasters, I think you should bring this guy back and put him in front of Chalk Outlines, Fingers (Live), and maybe something like Humble to give him more of an idea of Ren's vocal range and some more Chinchilla.
Ok, that was one of my favorite reaction videos. As a vocalist & growing up with relatives & friends in the music industry, I really dig into what I'm hearing/seeing/feeling from the artist. I can be hard but i can also drop props when props are deserved. Thats why I jumed into & fell in love with Ren's art as fast as i did. When your bro was asking for another song to hear Ren's singing voice, hear his vocal range & what he's capable of, I kept saying in my head, "Chalk Outlines, a duet, a ballad"!!!!! Over & over! 😄 & you went the way I wanted. Now I really DO want to hear what he has to say about Chalk Outlines. This was very entertaining for me. My headphones were on high & I was very into it; getting chills & watching as if I had never heard of Ren before as well. Thanks for doing what ya do! 🙌💙🎵
Really loved this. He reminds me of one of my lifetime friends who is just blunt af, but not a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian. Bring dude back!
Travis Lee. I need country in my life that is on black owned platforms. I’m in East Tennessee, and in my small town we are looking to elevate and incorporate. Love to see this so much. Thanks for the intro to Travis❤
Man I am loving all of these Ren reactions. Dude is so talented and it’s great to see what others think about it. Thank you for these. Also your rich men north of Richmond cover was dope!
"His gown is tied with the cord from his guitar... It's kind of like that music piece is holding him together." I really found this observation thought provoking! Thank you!
