My dad’s side of the family was traced all the way back to the early 1600s and they all lived in Macedonia (Emathia and Pieria) for centuries and millennia. Despite my deep Macedonian roots I was oblivious to most of its history. I’m glad to say that I’ve been learning so much more about Greek history✌️🇬🇷

Very good video! Modern Greek history is often complicated for outsiders but you did a really good job with all the important details. Especially showing the effect of the arbitrary moves of the kings, and also the betrayal of the Entente and Soviet support to Turkey in the Anatolian War.
@@someonethatlikesyou7713 I have never heard of this, but after WW1 the allies/Entente gave Greece loads of land that belonged to Turkey (although they were at the time inhabited by greek people) with the Treaty of Sevres in 1920. But he does not mean what you said actually. He means that the allies/Entente ,the UK and France more correctly, did not help Greece (as if they were obliged to do so) in the greek invasion of Turkey in 1921, which resulted in greek defeat, and the expuslion of all greek people from modern day Turkey and the (in his opinion unnecessary) slaughtering of thousands.

Best Date? It would be funny to say that Greek History is the best History if we look at it through the wars. And it would be more correct to think of Byzantium when we say Greek History.
