COUNTRYSIDE SCENE part 2 - SCRATCH BUILDING / 3D PRINTING BRIDGES.
It’s school holidays for couple of weeks so I’ve cracked on creating bridges, can you guess how many bridges there will be? Check out the video and I’ll show you there. Enjoy!

Really love how your layout is a while series of scenes for your trains to run through, you can almost imagine an entire railway journey.

Thx Philip, that’s the idea for trains to have somewhere to go. Still lots to do on the Branchline then the layout will take on a new meaning. Well that’s the plan anyway lol

Thx Deano, yes Im glad the filler worked well, I was nervous it would take ages to set, gratefully not so.

Thank you Shaun, I do appreciate that. If you are able to look through the playlist you will see models of Manchester Piccadilly, New Mills Central, Torr Vale Mill and not forgetting Dinting, the V-shaped single track station. I will try to include a layout tour in the coming weeks.

Sooooo imaginative….would never have thought of using filler to achieve such a result…… takes thinking outside the box to another level…👏 Brilliant

Thank you, I think if filler hadn’t of worked the affect may have been more tricky to achieve. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

Thank you Kev, TBH honest I wasn’t sure whether it would work, it was cheap ready mix filler for household decorating, great in a wall, but… I’m so relieved and glad at the same time.

Hi John! What a great update! I really enjoyed seeing how all of the bridges came together, and particularly enjoyed the tip about using filler to make the brickwork more bumpy!!! Also, love the idea that there's a bit of Sunderland inspired bridgework on your layout! :) All the best, Ian.

Bless you Ian thank you. I knew I wanted a 'different' design of bridge, but still believeable. So I was so glad to see the Sunderland one. Im in the process of rusting it up as I type lol. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

Hi John - I'm just going out to bin my road bridge I've worked on all afternoon after seeing this stupendous quadruple bridge build😅. Fantastic build especially the viaduct with the lumpy brick work - puts my bridge efforts to shame. Brilliant work there John. Cheers Euan

Dear John, beautiful bridges, arches, abutments, wing walls! Love the filler stippling technique to add more texture to the otherwise flat paper texture. Excellent how this experiment has improved the texture quality. Definitely will put it on the ‘hard drive.’ Cheerio

Thx Vincent, glad you liked it. Yes the filler was an experiment, due to drying time. Gratefully all good. You saw it here first, lol

Another enjoyable video, the viaduct looks superb and interesting for me as I'm thinking about adding a curved viaduct to a layout I'm planning. My grandson enjoyed watching it as well. Speaking of my grandson, he posted a new video today. He's done some nice stop-motion animation on it, there's so much happening on it ,that it took me several views before he posted it to spot everything, and even then I'd missed the passengers getting on the bus. We're looking forward to seeing your next update... Cheers James 🙂👍

Hi John, I just wonder did you in the evening have people over for a game of bridge it would have made the day complete!!! but jolly well done with all these builds you are certanly not wasting your time off from school and the scenes are coming together one after the other what will be next time another bridge per chance. Cheers Robert.

lol, I did try to learn how to play it once before, but that’s a long time ago. Thank you for your kind comments. I’m happy with the bridges, the last one is complete now. Got to route out the river next, that’ll be fun. Just got the small router piece for dremel, hoping that’ll be easier that taking the board out. That’s tomorrow. See how it goes.

@@piccadillymodelrailways Hi John, Thanks for the reply and please don't get swept away in the current and after 7 years with my railway today did my first bit of modelling by spraying track grime over a bit of track and sticking it down with glue whatever next. I will await your call sir. Cheers Robert.

It’s the ‘bridge over Trou_bled waters. I will lay me down’. Like a bridge over TROUBLED WATER I WILL LAY ME DOWN. It’s quite close to river Kwai and Tarabithia. Mr & Mrs Bridge are trying to get in on the act too. lol
