yoshiwara lament song is originately composed by ASA the bass guitarist in his own band and he happy offered it to play in the version of WAGAKKI BAND... its so surpising to know that most of them also have thier individual band... and five of the members or even all of them are song composers and writters...
One of my favorite songs by Wagakki Band. Another one you should react to is "Sabaku-No-Komoriuta" ( Desert Lullaby). It's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard with a haunting melody. Also, you should check out Yoshiwara Lament Live at Yokohama in 2018, it's a full-scale event that you NEED to see.
Though the song might be invigorating but it actually conveys quite a sad story. The songs talks about the Edo period of Japan when the red light district aka the Yoshiwara district & prostitution was quite common. The song is from the perspective of a prostitute regarding her experience & melancholy. You should check out the eng lyrics for this song on a YT channel called CC W!
"Lament" is an English word that refers to poems and songs that express mourning. In Japan, it can be translated as "Lamentations" or "Elegy". In other words, "Yoshiwara Lament" is "Yoshiwara Threnody". It is a sad song of a woman who lived in a place called Yoshiwara. Yoshiwara is the name of the Yukaku (Yoshiwara Yukaku), which was built in the suburbs of Edo during the Edo period and is a collection of licensed prostitutes, and its area. It was located in the current 4-chome and 3-chome, Senzoku, Taito-ku, Tokyo.
@@TheCyberMantis I showed new-Yoshiwara. old-Yoshiwara was in another place. It was relocated due to a big fire. In Yoshiwara Lament, it is the story of old-Yoshiwara. It is around the current Odenmacho in Tokyo.
