This song was life changing for me when it came out like 23 yrs ago...still love it after a million listens. The Hives are top 3 fav bands for me. Please review Bogus operandi! Ty
Discovered them June 5th of this year. They're the most significant musical thing I've experienced in like 10-20 years. They've been around awhile and every album is absurdly good so it's been like Christmas.
Their earlier work is fkn top-notch! Another banger is "Walk Idiot Walk", but tbh i do like more of the earlier version to that song. It is much shorter but it is just a straight-up Punk song. It is called "A.K.A I-D-I-O-T" from their first album "Barely Legal" and it is just 2+ minutes of pure Punk Power!❤ Their first 3 albums are just fire!
Put a litle of Beatles, Rolling stones and punk rock in the mix... you've got The Hives. They're real wild and energic at live stage too, with Pelle alternating Mick Jagger poses with jumping, kneeling and mic throwing/catching. They get really sweaty in those costymes.
Super.excited to.hear you guys react to my fav band The Hives are amazing and there isnt another band like them, the energy, the look, the visual. You have to go see them live, the videos are grear but live they are on another level.. Kudos Guys 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Love this song! One of the most underrated "new-age British-Rock" bands from the late 2000´s (despite not even being close to British)! They (and Block Party to some extent) kickstarted the entire thing, and Artic Monkeys (despite their undeniable talent) got all the rewards in the end. Kinda sad but, i do love all 3 bands, and in the end, i'm just glad i can listen to them whenever i want!
@@wonka4 Yes Franz Ferdinand despite being a little softer (compared to the first The Hives album) are in that same category just as The Strokes. The Vines, i know the name but tbh i dunno any song that i can insta-relate to them. Probably my bad because i definitely know their name and remember them being kinda relevant (and i'm form the corner of Europe, almost same difference from the US as from Australia). I'll check them out for sure!
@@tnightwolf Well, The Vines were Australian and they did various different genres. They had some songs that fit this style ("Ride"), but they also had some grunge in there, too ("Get Free", for example).
This is why I love your videos so much. I saw the hives right after this album came out at Webster Hall and it was the best live show I've seen in my life and I've been to about 150 shows. You guys are great and I'm glad you really enjoyed it
Great reaction. Lots of energy, fun, attitude. The Hives are a great live band. Saw them recently and they were on fire. Catch the clips on YT. New album is outrageous.
The twilight zone would have a spinning intro but I don’t think there was any faces. Maybe you’re thinking of a mix between the Brady bunches heads in squares and the spinning spiral on the twilight zone?
I loved this band when it emerged back in the late 90's and early 00's with a tremendous sound and a charismatic stage show. It looked like a rock band of cake dolls like those bands from the 50s and 60s like the Beatles or Monkies with a different accent, typical of Scandinavia. Very good band
@@wonka4 84 I made it to a Millennial 🤦🏻♂️😂 kind of close to Gen X … so I feel for both .. I hate a lot of stuff Millennials do but at the same time I Empathize wit them too 🤷🏻♂️😂
@@douglasmijangos3327 I mean born in 84 in this planet what more can you ask for lol Sounds awesome to me You pretty much had a bit of everything , late eighties, early 90s, and then to top it off some Brittney and hot chicks to top it off at the end with the early 2000s, lmao (And lets not forget the Deftones and Nu Metal which to me are the best. Im checking out Powerman 5000 as we speak, lol)
@@wonka4 I was too young for the late 80s but I do remember Guns n Roses when I was a little kid .. too young for Nirvana and Grunge but I loved it when I was a teen and of course Nu-Metal is one of my favorites.. I love System and bands that came out at the time .. I was into Hip Hop too .. PAC and Big .. then later Outkast and Em was also fire 🔥 😂 but I also love The Beatles and Zombies and bands from band in the 60s .. Hendricks..my favorite Decade is the 60s .. then the 80s .. and 3rd would be the 90s 😂
@@douglasmijangos3327 I'm more into the 80s and 90s, not a lot of 60s. 70s, maybe Cat Stevens or Al Stewart and such. But here in South America what I remember from my childhood that hit big here at the time you know what it is? Eurodance. That old house music they did in Europe back then hit strong down here in Latam I believe. Along with Reggae and such. Early 90s , 93-ish. Totally forgotten now. But I get a similar vibe from something like Powerman which has some techno in it, and from some new metal bands as well. They had more chicks singing though, in Eurodance, wich was awesome and it hardly exists now in new metal or techno music or in general except from Pop and Rap.
I love the Hives and it seems that you liked them with This old song is incredibly good. A great choice to pick . They have come out a new Video. The Hives - Bogus Operandi (Official Video)
Not i, when you react to more of The Hives, aId recommend checking out their live performances- they’re ridiculously energetic live- I saw them live in 2002 & then again this year & they were just as energetic this year as they were over twenty years ago! Highly recommend The aHives live!
Sorry, but I have to step in here. There were two major camps of the British Invasion in the late '60s...The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. These guys are playing garage punk rock and absolutely have a Stones vibe. The Beatles were not hard like this. The Stones were much more in your face and aggressive, as is the punk rock scene which came in the '70s. The Hives definitely follow this vibe...Stones mixed with Ramones. Pelle (the lead singer) has that early Mick Jagger aggression, swagger and strut. This is in your face punk rock, and it is great! It's all about anarchy, being against the system and telling those in authority "F**k You!". This is where it's at, man, and I can see it in the lady's face how it hits her! She likes it because it's real. There is no denying the feel and power of this music. Also, these guys are known to be one of the best live bands on the planet. To see them live is powerful and pure fun...and that's what it's all about!
Request #2,304 for Broken Window Serenade by Whiskey Meyers. That's a lot of requests since I started following y'all when you got so excited to reach 1k likes!!! H&J Love y'all keep bringing the Good Vibes Baby.
@tnightwolf but it's not really...... I mean I know I said that. But I mean you can relax and listen to music.... you dont have to "try to dance to it" If that makes sense
