I agree. When they first became a couple, they were so great together. But then the writers had to ruin their relationship by giving Courtney such a toxic personality.

Courtney's controlling attitude alone was enough to justify Duncan's cheating. And let's not forget how in the previous seasons, she betrayed him for the million, accused him of hooking up with Gwen, hoofed him in the kiwis TWICE! And was even willing to bargain with his life.

I don't blame Duncan for trying to hook up with Gwen, Because not only did Courtney not deserve him and she was too good for him but also because at least Gwen and Duncan had stuff in common while Duncan and Courtney literally had nothing in common, Plus in the movies the bad boy and the goth girl are always more compatible.
I still dislike Duncan and Gwen’s relationship. While I can acknowledge the flaws in Duncan and Courtney’s relationship, it only turned toxic due to poor writing hurting Courtney’s character
IMO I feel like Duncan and Gwen should have been something from the start and like the first season Duncan and court were cute but they’ve always been a kinda toxic couple and in general I feel like Gwen and Duncan were a pretty good couple

she removed almost ALL of the things in her letter from season 2. In season 2, she says there were 317, and in 3, she said 47. Thats a drop, dont you think? No one really has the right to cheat. The reason for that letter is because geoff twisted the scene in for-gwen and forget. Kinda gave her some trust issues.

Sure :) So the reason why s1 courtney and s2 courtney are so different is bc that s1 courtney had an "overachiever complex" (or whatever it's called " meaning that she thinks she needs to get everything done correctly like a little miss perfect, that she needed to achieve everything. Having that complex broken down due to all the challenges and her getting voted off made her a bit more aggressive and controlling of the situation she's in (this is not mine I just took this off a video, btw the video is called "total drama: how shipping ruins the characters)

In her audition she comes off as passive-aggressive and her bio said that "she cheated to win even though she pretended to be Miss Perfect", also in canon it is mentioned that she didn't get along with people at her school because of her problematic personality.
Courtney became an insufferable partner and low as hell person as the show progressed, she really didn’t deserve Duncan during their relationship. But after Duncan cheated on her and carried on with little to no remorse he was already stooping as low. Honestly if he had been the one to break it off before dating Gwen, he would have been so much happier to finally receive the relationship he deserved. But hey, I guess the writers just really wanted to enforce the drama aspect of that show and sought to show no way on how to actually handle and grow from toxic people or environments to the audience. I’m sad they never got the resolve they should’ve gotten, they were cute but I would’ve liked to see them seperate having grew from that. Courtney and Duncan used to be so likeable I need their redemption because THEM IN EARLIER SZNS WOULD HAVE NEVERRRR
Again, being in an abusive relationship is serious. Don't you guys dare say something like that because not even Duncan deserves to be stuck with Courtney bossing him around even if he is a jerk. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. Besides, Harold could have rigged the votes against Duncan instead of Courtney to get back at him, but he instead decided to be petty and bring Duncan's love life into it. That is why I don't feel an ounce of sympathy for Harold in Action because he deserves it for bringing Courtney into it when she didn't do anything bad to him.
Thing is, I've seen firsthand how miserable people can make their significant other by trying to change them just to suit their own wants and needs while not giving a crap about said partner's thoughts or feelings. I don't like cheaters, but truth be told Duncan was pushed too far and Gwen was a better match from the start. All he need to do in World Tour was tell Courtney off before kissing Gwen, but that's not always easy to do. However, Courtney had broken up with Duncan at the end of Action and, in his ending, only weasels her way back into his good graces for the money. Ergo Gwen's comment of "He thought they were over, anyway," in All-Stars. I don't even know why Courtney wanted him back in World Tour unless she just missed having someone to degrade and humiliate, which wouldn't surprise me. Duncan and Courtney were a decent relationship at the start, but it just goes to show that relationships take effort on both parts, compatibility is a huge factor, and they don't always work out. It sucks, for the Duncney fans, but it's one of the most realistic couples in the whole show. Also, I'd like to point out Courtney is the one who abandoned Duncan in Island for the money after he got hurt and kept accusing him of cheating with Gwen in Action when it hadn't happened, and any woman who kicks someone in the nuts just isn't worth it. Especially when that someone is the guy that's supposed to be her boyfriend. Courtney was just one step below a domestic abuser, one that played the victim despite being the one to caused the problems in the relationship, and not just to Duncan, but Scott, too. Scott just wasn't with Courtney long enough for her to kick him in the nuts for being a "bad boyfriend" to her.
Courtney does dervere duncan but gwen got in the relationship if you dont like her as you can see duncan cheated on her and talked behind her back the writers did that not her
the guy cheated on courtney at the beginning of total drama action spending so much time with gwen, in the aftermath episode he was basically one lip away from gwen ! who can trust a guy like this ? she came back in the game to teach that idiot a lesson ! it was basically his fault she lost her chance last season and she finally saw that he doesn't even care about her . she had no intention to date him again during season 2 cuz he broke her trust. she basically did what gwen did to cody every time he was annoying and refused his flirting. hit him where it hurts most . but the guy insisted and insisted till the girl said FINE we date again cuz obviously she still likes him. but how can you trust him now ? she came up with that list not cuz she had nothing better to do in her life she was madly in love with him in season 1 for who he is. she made that list so the gwen stuff never happen again! basically she made him stay loyal to her into a serious relationship. a clear commitment that duncan had no intention in keeping it. that s why he run away to gwen. the guy is a law breaker i mean what did she expect. all this drama is duncan s fault for being a two timer and not gwen's and courtney's . like everybody says : it s useless love triangle that did nothing but ruin 4 important characters and characters around them.
not you using td action has a way to drag courtney down. TDA was only an excuse to create gwencan. In order to create this ship, the author messed up trent and courtney's character. They exagerated courtney's perfectionist beavior in order for duncan to have an excuse to cheat on her
I didn't like that she did that to him if i were him i would have gotten annoyed to but courtney has a serious problems of always wanting to be perfect so she pushes that on duncan also duncan isn't all there either he aslo has problems.
Meh, even if Courtney was toxic, Duncan was even worse, and I don’t see him getting back with Courtney or Gwen, especially due to the fact neither of them care about him anymore. I could see Courtney getting back with Scott at some point though.

I know that Courtney was a bit controlling with Duncan but in season 3 you could see that she really did like him and thought that things could work out,then Duncan cheated on her and everything changed😢I can understand Duncan’s pov but to be honest if he never cheated on Courtney,things probably would’ve worked out between them.(just my opinion)

Duncan was a jerk in tdi & tda, he was a sexist, looking weird at that gwen underwear scene, was in juvie for bad reasons & more. If he wanted and he couldn't bare it 🥺🥺 he could have just brocken up with courtney. Anyways she ate that cheater up!
