That was fun watching you react to this. You caught the conductor right from the get go. There's a few clips on her fans FB pages and YT, etc sites where during the rehearsal's his enjoying her performance. 1st time Courtney's been back on a stage in 3 or 4 years now. She absolutely killed it. Hasn't lost a step. Has gotten better, if that's even possible.

Hi. Great Courtney reaction as always. Love that you caught the conductor sneaking a peak at Courtney's performance instead of remaining focused on his musicians. Let's be real. If you were on stage, 15 feet away from this magnificent performance, how could you not help to sneak a peak. It's not very often that you get to hear the voice of a lifetime. This performance was on April 29th. The New York Pops honored Clive Davis with a huge concert at Carnegie Hall. Everyone who is anyone in music was there. Courtney was invited to open the show. She blew off the roof and the doors and brought the entire audience to their feet at Carnegie in a standing ovation with this rip roaring, stage dominating rendition of Janis Joplin's 'Piece of my Heart'. Janis was Clive's first signee. It was mind boggling. Courtney shared the stage with many all time greats tied to Clive like Barry Manilow, Dionne Warwick, John Mellencamp and many more. The New York Pops released this 2+ minute clip of her performance. In a little over a day, it has over 1.4 million views. By far the most views of any video the New York Pops has released since they started posting in 2014. Too bad they didn't release the whole thing, because Courtney's full performance was spectacular. So far it's the only individual performance that the Pops have released from the concert. Kind of says something about how fabulous they thought it was.

You correctly noted the famous conductor of the NYPops turning to watch Courtney and point at her, which he did again in a later segment. Ed gave you some background on this. The significance of Clive Davis personally inviting Courtney to OPEN his tribute show at renowned Carnegie Hall cannot be overstated. The legendary Davis discovered Janis Joplin, Whitney Houston and a slew of other top stars, many of whom performed after Courtney. Courtney was the only novice solo performer among seasoned celebrity performers. NYPops originally said they were not releasing event video publicly, but relented with just this partial clip. There is a renegade full clip out there, but it is closely guarded. Hers was an amazing performance, bringing full attention to the top echelon of the music industry. Her album being released this year should be a blockbuster!

Great reaction! Yeah we hear ya, we want the full performance. There was a bootleg of it but RU-vid took it down the very next day. As far as I know, it's still on Facebook, on the Courtney Hadwin Superfans page but I don't do fan clubs no more so IDK. From New York, Courtney traveled to Minnesota with her producer Kevin Bowe, who attended the concert with her, and finished recording all the vocals for her album at his studio there, so as soon as he's finished mixing, it can be released. Courtney's working on the title and cover art and launched a new easy to navigate website that includes pages for tour dates and merch, just waiting for their first posts. The music, videos, and bio pages are looking great.

Good news Emotion-O, she's finished the album. It will be out soon, I don't know when, but soon. And I think that she is going to do a tour of America too, to promote it. We all love Courtney, and I never thought that I'd be able to see this performance, because Carnegie does not like videos taken, until I saw it a couple of days ago. Not allowing a video of Courtney should be a capital offence, this should not be limited to just the audience, it's caging in her gifts, the world should see.

@@itsemotion-o thank you for doing that! We have GOT to get the word out about this youngster. As for THIS performance, there's been no news, no reviews, nothing I could find. Apparently at least part of that is due to the venue. Not at all clear WHY they'd object, but I've heard that answer from three independent people with whom I've been in contact about why no video of whole show exists. So I'm starting to believe it's possible. Can't believe NY Pops isn't able to sell a vid of this event. It's all about and by THEM after all. Weird. Must be some lawyers involved somewhere else. Stupid decision, IMHO. Old institutions and arts/music industry apparently just don't know how to function in today's world and culture. It's a shame, really.

I am so very sorry! I'm clearly falling down on my job. mea culpa. Love the conductor and a couple of the orchestra members who are CLEARLY quite enjoying this performance, from frequent stolen looks to dancing to head-bobbing.... Ms. Courtney is so freakin' good at this! Especially with a tad more emphasis on the Janis Joplin vibe since she was doing this AT THE PERSONAL INVITATION of Clive Davis, the honoree at this year's New York Pops Birthday Celebration, in Carnegie Hall! Opening the show! So cool...wish I could have been there, but my traveling days are over. This young rockstar just takes me right back to listening to my favorite artists of the 1950's and 60's. NOBODY has a voice like this anymore, and her passion coming through her songs is enough to just stun us. She reminds me, in the way energy just explodes out from her to her audience, really reminds me of Tina Turner so very much. In an odd way, also reminds me of Keith Urban, in that I'm pretty sure she's going to be filling stadiums and winning 'fan favorite' and 'peoples choice' awards, with intensely loyal crowds. This girl is teaching today's world just what the ROOTS of Rock'n'Roll were all about! So cool to have a GenZ youngster who is so tapped into all those great old artists and their old songs! Thanks for your quick reaction upon discovering this performance video! Sorry I and others here let you down by not informing you as soon as we saw it. Frankly, I've been too busy replaying it while being a tad frustrated so few reactions have happened to it yet. Now I remember, spreading that word is MY self-appointed 'job' since it's about the only way I can help this youngster.

Another channel has mashed together video from both Courtney's channel and from the balcony at this performance, giving us the full performance, including material before and after Courtney's vid cuts off. WONDERFUL!! Love both hearing and seeing the whole time she was onstage opening the show! Thank @Lihp-kj9cr for the vid mashup.
