Courtney can only be compared to Courtney. This girl is a once in a lifetime talent! I've been seriously listening to music for 60 years from country to opera and everything in between but Courtney Hadwin is unique, no one I've ever heard can touch her vocally. She gives me goosebumps everytime I hear her sing! We have been blessed to have Courtney singing for us and her talent will be heard for generation after generation of that I'm certain!

Courtney is actually a big fan of Pink but, in reality, Courtney has been compared to just about every great artist you can think of, from Janis Joplin, to Tina Turner, to Aretha Franklin and countless more. Fact of the matter is that in addition to having one of the greatest and most versatile voices in music, she is also completely unique. Within 5 seconds of walking into a room and hearing a Courtney song, you will know who it is. She sounds like no one we've ever heard before. Besides the great vocals, look at the creativity she displayed here. She took a Country/Hip Hop song that was one of the biggest hits ever, completely dismantled it, and re-invented it into this sensational rock anthem. No matter what song Courtney touches, she will make it her own. Never will you hear a Courtney cover that sounds anything like the original. She always has her idea of how a song could have or should have been sung and her rendition of it is always brilliant. I have to disappoint you. Courtney does not sound like anyone else. Not like Pink or Janis as many say. No. Courtney sounds like Courtney. She has her own voice and you immediately hear it is her.
I totally agree. As like most other people, I was immediately a fan of hers from AGT, but have since looks for as much content of hers. Her earlier singing, when she was 9 or 10, she was singing show tunes like Castle in the Cloud from Les Mis or Naughty from Matilda... things like that. At that stage she was singing very "British like". Afterwards from later on in that year she started to develop her lower-register voice which everyone has come to know and love. Now, I agree with you, she sounds so unique, you do not even have to see her to know who is singing.

Courtney is the best at taking a cover and changing it up to be another original. This song is nothing like the country/rap song that was overplayed. She recorded this at 14 years of age just after she got signed with Simon/Arista Records/Sony, along with 3 others in that same studio. The musicians are top session guys who record all over the world with many different artists. Love the guitar part in this cover, he really rocks it up quite a bit. As the others have said, people compare Courtney to many different artists. And I'm sure she has learned from many of them. Soon though, she won't be compared to others, others will be compared to her. Since you mentioned more songs like this to react to by Courtney, my request is "Sucker". Why do you need to liken anyone to anyone. Courtney is Courtney. Just accept that you are undergoing the pleasure of greatness imposing itself on the world. A world that has sadly been bereft of good music for decades. Courtney is successfully planting the seed of interest in well-written, well-arranged, and extremely well performed real music. You also might consider how lucky we all are to be at the rennaisance of the rebirth of music.
I was going to again recommend Courtney's Xmas song, but as usual Edward's already got the details🙏. Keep Courtney coming! For the record, all music and musicians spring from ones before, and Courtney has a little bit of several great singers, but she really sounds like nobody else; that can't be said about most other singers.
Others have said that she reminds them of Pink. She just reminds me of Courtney. She has good Christmas songs-Happy Xmas (War is Over) by John Lennon; Run Run Rudolph; Christmas Rocks (Her most recent in 2023); Merry Christmas Everybody by Shakin Steven (she was 12 I believe).

Courtney is a perfect mix between 1: Janice Chaplin 2: Skunk Anansie And 3: Alanis Morissette She has her own sound. But she fits right in that lineup of great Rockstars from back in time .

Please check my last comment for Courtney Christmas. She has some great ones. She has been compared to many until it has gotten to the point of Courtney is Courtney even though she has had a lot of influences.
I can see how you might make that comparison, but Courtney is soooo much better. I hope that as she escapes her teens, she doesn't get as raunchy. Let the music speak. She doesn't need anything else.
Nice reaction. I will echo the sentiments of others in that Courtney sounds like no one else but Courtney. You should have stopped at sounding unique instead of trying to think who she could sound like. It's what makes her so endearing to her fans - her music and personality are unique.
