I don't know. It's hard to place them in order of "the best". They are all heroes of mine for one reason or another. Marshall because he was in his prime when I was growing up and I wanted to be him (short enough, just not quick enough ;) but Roberts in HIS prime (in the mid-70s) was incredible. The greatest action of them all was, of course, Michael Holding - and he was the quickest on his day. Devastatingly quick. But Garner was a master of his craft...and then there were the "minor" quicks, like Clarke, Daniel, Croft and later Patterson (some say he was the quickest) to name but four. What an era. What a privilege it was to see it.
Guess you are from Barbados, anyways Winston Davis, Wes Hall, Charlie Griffith and others should be there because Walsh is not as good as others guys but his longevity made him a legend
T T - they were all amazing, but Marshall was something else. When I watched him I was always impressed with his variety, thinking of the best way to get his man out. In addition for much of his career he was the fastest WI bowler, and the most dangerous because with his shorter height he skidded the ball on, which caught out many batsmen, as well as injuring a few
The greatest fast bowling group (missing Malcolm Marshall) of all time. They were not just supreme fast bowlers, they were frightening serial killers😎😎😎😎
Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Colin Croft. Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Malcolm Marshall. Malcolm Marshall, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Patrick Patterson. Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Ian Bishop. These guys produced fearsome attacks throughout the 80's and into the 90's. No wonder no one could handle them.
@@valavanchandran8573 Sylvester Clarke was more than a utility Player he was prime time. Viv once said he only feared Sylvester Clark. Clive Lloyd chose Malcolm Marshall over Clark after Packer days, but in India series under Alvin Kallicharan Clark was the man.
Sunil gavaskar mohinder amarnath kapildev and sachin can tackle any bowlers in west Indies they won the world cup 1983. So india can attack any bowlers
The mighty and powerful West Indies, they produced the finest cricketers the world has ever seen, they ruled all forms of cricket with an iron fist for decades. And the legends in this video, were the greatest fast bowlers in the history of cricket.
They were probably one of the best test teams to watch, certainly during that era. Most of their batsman would score quickly and their bowlers would bowl quick and aggressive.
Walsh, Ambrose, Holding .....my heroes. So good seeing them after so long. Richards and Roberts still hold a place in my heart. These men made cricket rock!!!
Awesome to have them together still look intimidating.Wayne Daniels, Sylvester Clarke were also equally great should have got a mention. Late Malcolm Marshall is missed. None of them ever say they were better than other. I suppose they never needed to. Extraordinary men!
Holding will always be my favourite due to his pace , his athletic run up , easy approach to the wicket and smoothest of bowling action which generated fearsome pace. If fast bowling is poetry then Holding is the greatest peot of all time ...
I always felt that Holding, Imran Khan and Kapil Dev (in no specific order with Holding slightly taking the cake over others) had the most beautiful, fluidic fast bowling actions in Cricket.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if Lillee dont get you then Thommo must. 4 greatest, most skilful fast bowlers of all time: Dennis Lillee Malcolm Marshall Fred Trueman Wasim Akram. All 4 in my all time eleven. And a toss up between Warne and Murali as spinner. I pity any batsman facing that attack.
GREAT GREAT ERA OF FASTEST BOWLERS WI GARNER.ROBERTS CROFT HOLDING BISHOP .CLARKE MARSHALL...AMBROSE WALSH... WE CAN WATCH ONLY THEM ON YOU TUBE LO L FOR ALL TEARS IN MY EYES..😢
I am a cricket fan .. Just dont want to see them against my team ...wow... I love them.. Ambrose happy birthday sir... I had just seen walsh and Ambrose.. Bowling... and destruction.. and i still love the voice of whispering death...
Michael Holding will always be my favorite. He had the best action, his speed, athleticism, and grace was a sight to behold. Malcolm Marshall was the best bowler but Holding was the fastest.
I wish that malcolm marshal would be there but he is no more. He was the most skilled bowler in this deadliest squad. Who make grovel there opponents in any conditions. Great respect for all of them.

Can there be this bowling line up again ? NEVER EVER INDEED ! Imagine you have to face the very dangerous Andy Roberts Joel Garner next change is Michael Holding and Malcolm Marshall...all four very different and styles strategies . What an era that was and many have missed this era and will never ever understand what these 4 names were in bowling for oppositions and batsmen world over. Absolute terror its like getting slaughtered murdered killed going into bat & facing them. As if entering a cage of vicious wild animals full of Lions Tigers Cheetahs Panthers . These bowlers gave forced and gave birth to one bouncer per over rule from England. Patterson Walsh Bishop Ambrose were the last recognized dangerous famous 4 from West Indies after the Fab4 Never even in cricket history Man of the Match semifinal and the finals 1983 World Cup Hero Super Star Mohinder Amarnath is the most highly underrated player in the world. 1982 Imran Khan said he is the best in the world for playing fast bowling especially Bouncers short deliveries highest scorer in that 1982 series in Pakistan , 1982 1983 West Indies tours Viv Richards said Jimmy Amarnath plays west indian bowlers and all global quick genuine fast bowlers the best. I have seen him play since 1980s he got hit on head jaws face nose got injured the most like no other player ever in cricket history you can check about him and you will be shocked to know how brave and courageously Mohinder Amarnath hit the hook shots attacked them with ease to the worlds fastest bowlers Lillie thomson hadlee imran roberts marshall garner holding etc Also note that current Williamson root kohli babar Smith AB Devilliers Maxwell Chris Gayle Rohit Sharma etc can't bat against these quality bowlers and that too with bigger larger sophisticated bats state of the art protections ⛑helmets guards equipment gadgets fielding rules shorter boundaries restrictions on bouncers. Boycott vs Holding Richards vs Lillie Gavaskar vs Marshall Srikanth vs Imran Khan Mark Waugh vs Alan Donald Kohli vs Anderson Waugh vs Ambrose Any other encounters you know please add them here.
Congratulations to these legend's, As Alvin Kalliecharan says Andy Roberts, may not have the big record's, but he was the teacher of our fast and swing Bowling, even today's guys. Vivian Was also a great batman, but he didn't face the best of the best , because he was in their team. Sunil Gavaskar, was really the Master of the times.
I wish that malcolm marshal would be there but he is no more. He was the most skilled bowler in this deadliest squad. Who make grovel there opponents in any conditions. Great respect for all of them.
All of them simply great fast bowlers. My personal favourite was Michael Holding. The man just made it look ridiculously easy. Smoothest action you'll ever see and possibly the fastest of this lot.
WEST INDIES. THE GREATEST TEAM EVER. DEVASTATING BOWLERS & DEVASTATING BATSMEN. FIELDING, OUT OF THIS WORLD. CLIVE LLOYD & VIV RICHARDS, GREAT CAPTAINS. AND GOD BLESS MALCOLM MARSHALL, R.I.P OUR FRIEND, WE LOVED YOU.
@@Thrash_ranch Ask the cricketing world and everyone that knows about Viv Richards. And they would say exactly the same as me. I should know, I've watched all his matches on You Tube
I love watching highlights of matches where great fearsome artistic accurate aggressive positive classical WestIndian fast bowlers played . I always salute them . They were God gifted .And their fitness? Just amazing ! And their attitude and approach were also praiseworthy .A lot of respect for them all .
The Entire mode of cricket was changed in the form of protective gears and little legislational changes are only becoz of the Legendary captain "Clive Lloyd and his four bullet pacers" for their sharp reply to the arrogant Aussies and English. In that biased war, they have got repeated victory in Babylon and with the other teams as well. True Gems !
Feeling badly the absence of Mallcom Marshall. Clark, croft, Roberts, Garner, holding, Marshall,Patterson, Walsh, ambrose and bishop were not the bowlers but were the bullets. 💪✌️👍🔫☠️🙏
No Malcolm Marshall in that opening sequence? Much missed, so I'm glad he got a mention. He should have been in that opening sequence to show how very unlike the others he was. Not tall but with a very fast arm and skiddy pace off the pitch. What a pair he made with his low trajectory at one end and Joel Garner banging it down from helicopter height at the other!
Imagine they are bowling against today's t20 cricketers without no bouncer limit rule. Most of the famous careers would've been cut short if they played after 90's with this kind of fast bowlers.
Patterson Walsh Bishop Ambrose was the last famous 4 from West Indies after the Fab4 Never even in cricket history can be this bowling line up Imagine you have to face Andy Roberts Joel Garner next change is Michael Holding and Malcolm Marshall...What an era that was and many have missed this era and will never ever understand what these 4 names were in bowling for oppositions and batsmen world over.
O my o my Godz, I can't express my feelings at this moment after watching these Gem of Earth. Truly pleasure to watch these legends. Except Sir Curtly & Courtney Walsh I have not privileged see rest of them playing. But I must say all these blokes were awesome on their time. Miss u Sir Malcom Marshall. I apologise if I wld've done any mistake for writing there name. Many many thanks for this clip, amazing.
Marshal was the most thinking one of them all with amazing bulldog tenacity... He used to wreak havoc on India/Pak subcontinental bald dry pitches tailored for spin... Where shoulders of other pacers would droop at times... Legendary guy... Still vividly recall the drubbing he gave India on the post 83 WC revenge tour of WI to India...

Why West Indians stopped producing bowlers of this caliber? Joel Garner, Malcolm Marshall, Andy Roberts, Micheal Holding, C Croft, Patrick Patterson, Curley Ambrose list goes on..
Great sportsmen, simple happy lot, respectful to each other. Malcolm Marshal was the most gifted, fastest, absolute control, great cricketing mind, and test level batsman!
