3 issues i have with the story 1. Everything the op writes sounds like a poet recounting his best poetry 2. His family abandoned him destroyed his life and broke all trust he had for them and still he wanted to get back with them to be a family again they accused him of a crime with little to no proof but he sat for 10 years hoping for forgiveness. 3. The op didnt do the one thing that would help in situations like this try to build a friendship with 2-3 people to help support and help u a therapist cant always be there for you u need to find others to support u 1 person cant help u daily thats what friends do
1. sorry, I had to change the story so I wouldn't have problems with whoever told it 2. For some, family is important and it is important to be good for them (I probably wouldn't even mention them after that, they didn't even try to check if it was true...)
The original story was told in a better way. This was rewritten by some wanna be writer. Go to the original only, it's very believable from the perspective of a common man. Without this kind of rubbish writing and language
I would never try to reconnect with a family like this. I would forgive them, but I would just say "I lived 10 years without any help or contact with y'all, my life is finally getting good and at this point, you just are not my family anymore. I forgive you all for what you did as being resentful will only affect me, but I don't want anything to do with any of you anymore. And it wasn't me that made this decision. i would just pretend i had no idea who they were, im an orphan, the only family i have is my SO and their family... "i dont know who you are, but this isnt funny, my family died over a decade ago, why are you doing this?" but.. im also that a-hole who will keep rubbing the salty glass in till its time to go grab more salty glass..
I don’t know if this is just my family’s way but we don’t automatically believe everything we hear and demand evidence. Also we’re not the forgiving type and we would never forgive a family or friend that betrayed us like this
If I was OP. I’ll tell them to “F Off & never speak to again. Along with them. As they lost their son. And Never letting them to see my children too” it’s is literally too late to apologize & seek forgiveness after what they did to OP. And What OP went through in life all alone. And another perfect reason on what Real SA victim are too afraid of sharing their stories to others. They won’t believe them. And this angers me on why society’s is failing about these things than others.

They didn't just believe the accuser, they also went around spreading that info to the point it affected his entire life. His entire life was destroyed and his mom is proud the cousin is "facing her fears" !!!!! Are you kidding!!! And he just forgave them. I hope the story is fake
I think i have read similar stories about false SA, the turning away, and later regret and attempt reconciliation after the truth has come out. All that matters on how the family will make up for the years of abandonment, and how the false accuser punished for destroying the life of its victim.
I have read a lot of stories of false SA cases and how the people who are the actual victims deal with it but never have i ever seen a person as idiot the OP of this story. Like seriously you just went to the people who didn't even have even a little bit of decency to check up on you even tho you are there son and one day when they come to know the truth you are like "but they are my family" nonsense. By going to there house OP just showed one thing and it is that anyone can hurt him and he will forgive them if they say sorry... i would have send them the same text as Lisa and would have told them to go pound sand...
My cousin went to the hospital because she tried to kill herself by overdosing, when she was there she said I inappropriately touched her then said I sexually assaulted her. The police came to do an interview where the woman immediately talked to my mom but my mom told her to speak to me and I also said for her to speak to me. Not only did her changing what I said go against her but she said she was 9 at that time and I was 9 ( or 9 going on 10) at that time. Not only that but we also barely stayed up there, only coming and staying twice a month or so, at least from what I could remember. The woman left and that was it, she had said I sexually assaulted her to get everyone's attention from what she did. It was also found that the friend that was staying with them had made her addicted to pills so he could sexually assault her. There was hesitation in my mom and such but she still did not believe I had done anything and even stopped talking to Grandma and my cousin's mom and it was found I did nothing wrong and she lied. Sorry after hearing this I needed to get everything off my chest. And also your mom is not a good person, she would have immediately talked with you and asked you things instead of immediately believing her, honestly I thought my mom and such would believe her and the police too and I would go to jail since I'm a guy which luckily they did not. In short I think this is what happened, you were an older guy and she was a younger girl so they believed her without actually thinking. Also he should not have gone to see them. Even though they want to make amends it is clear that they have no trust in you if they just immediately believed her and never tried to believe you or because you're a guy.
If this is a true story, I would not be able to forgive or forget what this family did to the OP. They just automatically believed their cousin/niece and disowned their son/brother without no proof or evidence of his guilt, abandoned him for a DECADE and then called him asking for forgiveness?!? I would tell them No thanks! I don’t need a family like that. I understand that they wanted to protect someone they thought had been abused but they went overboard with their reactions. I definitely would NEVER forgive the cousin Lisa, ever! She totally RUINED her cousin’s life over something that DIDN’T even happen!! A dream?!? A figment of her imagination?!? Please!!
The moment my parents told me " Lisa wouldn't lie", I would have been done and disowned them. You would believe the words of your niece without question but I, being your actual child don't even get a chance to even say any? I would be out, and any Mother calling me in 10 years would get 10 years of built up expletive's yelled over the phone if they ever called me. Or at least that's my reaction now. Thinking and living the situation are obviously much different things haha.

I don't understand. You were accused of SA, it ruined your life, and it took 10 years for the truth to come out. Why do you keep second guessing your decisions even though you decided to say yes to your mother's plead for reconciliation without asking for your therapist's opinion beforehand. You escaped hell and then willingly jumped back in. Your just incapable of thinking like a sane person and I pity you for that. Everybody knows that people like that don't change.
I don’t really get how a dream can be that vivid you go to ruin someone’s life over it. Like, if you are gonna make an accusation like that, you need to be sure. It ruined OP’s life, and she just brushed it off. Not to mention she said she was having vivid nightmares at the time, so she KNEW that it could have been not real. That’s not an accusation you just throw around. Trust me. My cousin did make me uncomfortable a few times and got touchy with me. It bothers me, but I’m still asking for other people’s opinions before going to tell the family since I know it will ruin my cousins life. Accusations of SA is not a joke. It can seriously affect someone’s life. (IK the story is most likely fake BTW, but that’s just my input on it)
(20:00) That’s not the only two routes. There’s also the middle ground. Meet with them but tell them to not get their hopes up. Go in expecting the best and prepared for the worst. And just when they start rambling on too much, tell them the whole, unfiltered, and unbridled truth. Tell them everything their betrayal has done to you and how raring they were for it. Then, with that being said, while you can’t 100% forgive them for it, and you won’t ever forget it, you can try to move on and somewhat start anew, with boundaries, of course.
This might be a heavily edited version of another story, I remember a very similar one but not this poetic and from what I remember the Op didn't reconcile with the family or at least not this quickly

This made me cry. My cousin sa'd me when i was 5 or 6.(he was 6 or 7) Now i am 13 and since im older now police are talking action (i think, being the child in the case im not told much) but now i am told to remember what happened. Since i was so young and I dont like to think about it, i do not remember much of it. But my parents (for a little only like a month) thought i was lying becausr I dot remember it. But how could I really, i was so little, didnt understand and now being older dont really remember much of it. But i know it happened. I know i was not lying.
