I’m a Bostonian; born and raised! Don’t get it twisted Boston is a GREAT place to live and personally I didn’t grow up in Roxbury, Dorchester or mattapan! I’m black and haven’t experience racism overtly to my face! There is a feeling you may get at times but that’s nothing really different than what you can experience anywhere that’s not the south!
S/O to Stizz & Hot 97 showing love.Young Cat putting on 4 The Bean! You see a man doing something great u salute that man.I don't even know dude but the kid definitely been ringing bells. He got the youth. And he certainly from the heart of the hood.Where he from is ruff!Dorchester. The issue in Boston is definitely CLASS difference.U smell it.Right outside the poorer areas or even the public housing that's integrated among colleges and other wealthy areas. Its a clash of class.Word.Night & day.You got money or you dont.Thats how it feel.
617 to 413...stand up! I felt Stizz on the "Real Boston" aspect as well. It's more of a class thing as opposed to racism, even though it exists (albeit, more institutionalized now). "The real Boston" has many different races, ethnicities, creeds etc living amongst each other. In many instances, there are no problems on the racial issue front as I've experienced. This doesn't get shown enough to the folks who live elsewhere and they automatically assume The Bean is hella racist. Love my city always! Mass State in the building!
My nigga Stizz keepin it real 4 The Bean so BOSTON stand up 4 Stizz Cuz hes doing his thing so Salute Stizz Keep gettin it bruh...Bostons riding with u heavy
They DO talk about Roxbury and Mattapan and all the outside areas of Boston...but the only thing they ever report is the shootings/muggings to strike fear into the tourists so downtown stays with the profit...The class segregation is so real in Boston. There are clear dividers of what is the hood and what are the 400,000$ suburban homes.
I'm currently learning about the sort of classism and racism in boston as a new Uber driver to the area.. I'm from Maine and was warned about going to certain areas. Me being me I decided to find out for myself. Not that I've been at it for long but so far I've done rides in a few parts in Dorchester, Lynn, Chelsea.. Not sure if these are neighborhoods in Dorchester or seperated burbs but I've also picked up in Mattapan and Fields Corner(Believe fields corner is part of dorchester and mattpan is seperate right?) anyway as a white kid from maine with out of state plates I feel totally safe in these areas so far. People are awesome and friendly there and usually extra appreciative for the ride.. guessing because theres not as many drivers in these areas, probably from stupid misconceptions like I had heard. and people who were just around back when gang violence was worse.. I don't know. may all bite me in the ass one day but so far my spidey senses are telling me if I treat people with respect out there I'm gonna get it in return and be just fine. :)
Yea I'm from Dorchester and it usually goes if you're not involved with the streets or the wrong ppl then you won't have nothing to worry about especially since you're white.. Js
DockLife No Bells, Bonds, Shoutout, Real Life, 500 Horses, Where I Cane From, Every Season, Jo Bros, Headlock, Super Bowl, Living Like Khaled etc just check out all three tapes.
Stuffolk County To Me Will Forever Be His Best Project I Still Fuck With It Heavy. Monda Had Some Alright Songs But One Night Only Just Nah I Can't Do It Don't Even Sound Like Him Anymore... Beats Be Sounding Like Migos & Shit I Don't Fuck With That Type Of Music...
Dolo93 I definitely hear you bruh, Suffolk County really is a classic, Monda was a personal tape for him and ONO is just for the clubs. He's just diversifying because he's still fairly new.
SC is classic, so is MONDA. I was stand offish about ONO because it's really just an ad lib/hook tape, but that shit sure is catchy. He's in a different space though, so I understand.
One night only is like his mainstream album he's using mainstream beats but yet still spitting bars with catchy hooks I fw it personally. The album is good for parties for sure
