My father was born In Asturias and I saw the place of the video it's so gorgeous

I'm learning as much as I can about my very distant ancestor. A few years ago I learned that my great grandmother was a direct descendent of this first king. Very cool heritage.

You forgot to say that Alkama was killed with his personal guard in the area called the Campas in Cangas de Onis. Governor Munuza with his government was living in Gijon and after the battle of Covadonga, he tried to flee to Cantabria and was also killed with all his entourage in his way to Cantabria. Pelayo continued fighting the Moors till his death in 737. Other very important historical event is that governor Munuza brought with him archbishop Oppas to try to convince Don Pelayo of the lost cause of fighting a civilization a lot more advance and with a very superior army. I grew up in Asturias listening in many of the Romerias of the recreation dialogue between Archbishop Oppas and Don Pelayo. Truly fascinating.
