Most believers in the Reformed tradition are familiar with the language of covenant. We hear terms like covenant membership or covenant baptism, and yet we may still have a hard time explaining what we mean by “covenant.” Why is this theme so important in Scripture? How does it help us make sense of the whole Bible? Why does it matter in the Christian life? This course will systematically present biblical teaching on covenant theology as understood and taught within the Reformed tradition. We will seek to answer relevant questions (old and new), analyze current controversies, and apply what we learn to life and ministry.

How does getting a baby wet make them different from babies not made wet but raised in a Christian home and in a Christian church? Please elaborate because it's nonsensical to me.

How does regularly drinking wine (or grape juice) and eating bread and do anything for the Christian? The act itself is not what's important. We take showers /baths, and eat meals all the time. What matters is how the Spirit works in and among us as we participate in the Sacraments. The act of sprinkling a baby communicates that he or she is a member of the Covenant people of God. When we follow God in obedience the Spirit moves in and among us and graces us with greater faith and obedience to His name.

@@loganholdaway769 In the Lord’s Supper, we commune with Jesus together as the church. Sprinkling babies is a made upbritual nowhere in Scripture and has no effect on a baby anymore than non sprinkling.
