A quick tour of some pubs in the Covent Garden area:
The Harp
The Lamb and Flag
The Cross Keys
The Nell Gwynne
Sorry it's a bit of an abrupt ending! After the third pub I was required to do some "childcare" which doesn't really combine well with trying to do a pub crawl!

3:06 Lamb & Flag
4:38 Cross Keys
5:26 (Aside about Covent Garden)
6:02 Nell Gwynne

London is our favourite city to visit. We have another visit planned starting October 1st for 2 weeks and this sort of video is exactly what we like. Local knowledge showing us the great nooks and crannies with a pint at the end of the bread crumb trail. Thanks for doing these brilliant videos. Very well done.

@@stephfoxwell4620 Great tip. We did visit it one gray, rainy day and it was time well spent.

Ahhh The Harp, my Favorite London Pub ... The only problem with Harveys is its difficult to keep, When its good you can't beat, but I've had so many dodgy pints of it that I steer clear

Wiki says the Lamb And Flag is the heraldic symbol of the Middle Temple, part of the English Bar of barristers. But I assume they got it from the Knight's Templar during the Crusades.

I worked in Long Acre in the late 80s and The Lamb and Flag was just a few yards away through an alleyway. It was very handy on a wet day. At that time the landlady was quite daunting (I suppose she needed to be). The real ale was always top-notch and we generally had a piping-hot Cornish pasty to go with it. One of my favourite Covent Garden pubs is The Nags Head in Floral Street, which is a rare McMullen pub in London. I do remember 'The Harp' being called 'The Welsh Harp' in those days.

Thanks John! You know I don't think I've ever been to the Nag's Head. I thought I had that area pretty well covered over the years and somehow a little gem like that slips through the cracks! I must correct that when I'm next in that part of town.

I think "The King's Arms" in Long Acre closed down around 1999 and is now a lady's fashion shop.

From what I remember, back in the days when Covent Garden was a market, a couple of pubs were allowed to stay open until 4-30 AM for benefit of the porters. This was because unloading the lorries of produce from the countryside couldn't begin until midnight. They worked through the night and trading the following day ceased at 11-00 AM.

Another heartwarming video in terms of architecture. It doesn’t look like they’re smashing it all up round there. Don’t know any of those pubs and the only one I can think of near there is that Sherlock Holmes pub close to Charing Cross Station. Great video with Allotment Fox style ending!

Oh I secretly quite like the Sherlock Holmes pub! Particularly after watching a 1950s Pathé video of it and seeing that the charmingly naff recreation of Holmes and Watson's rooms at 221B Baker Street date back to at least that era.

Nice one Tweedy. l think the Harp is a gem of a pub. An acquaintance told me it was his aunt who had it in recent years: The lrish family you allude to. From County Mayo l believe. Good luck with your pub quests.

In the time description you’ve got the Lemon Flag for the lamb and Flag and then the Melbourne Tavern for the Nell Gywnne. Jesus, and you want subscribers😂. Details boy, details. They must have taught you that at your public school
