Wow, fancy music term!! I had to look up what that means but I really do appreciate it, I've been singing my whole life and have been in choir for a couple years, but other than that I'm self taught with guitar and non choral singing
@@abigail.e447 Well that's what we call natural talent haha (Don't mind me acting all educated I'm self taught too. Just a bit too nerdy). Keep it up! Btw, don't mind it sounding fancy it just means passage in Italian. It's the passage between your chest voice and head voice. Generally people who don't have some sort of education in singing aren't as comfortable around that passage as you are because chest voice and head voice are two distinct things for them and their voice crack whenever they try to transition between them. You can naturally transition smoothly with a breathy mixed voice (mixed voice is a mixture of chest and head voices and its generally used around the passage). Which I was not expecting at all because whenever I look at a cover people generally stick to a very safe range and it sounds quite unexciting. So yeah the more you know I guess. Sorry for the excessive amount of nerding.
@@abigail.e447 Oh I learned how to play this song thanks to this video btw so thank you. I knew the song but never would have thought to learn it if it weren't for this video it's a great song.
This was good. You just need to work on getting more vocal space and power. For now, your voice is still very small. To get more vocal space in your throat, try search up Whitney Straw Singing and start practicing straw phonation. For more vocal power, try doing more diaphragmatic exercises daily. Nevertheless, this was a beautiful cover! You have a lot of potential
thank you so much for the advice! There are plenty of songs I can sing powerfully or more belting, I just didn't think it was as appropriate for this song in particular. But I do get what you're saying in regards to that
